Our group of 8 stayed at the Institut St Sebastian this summer. Such a beautiful little place hidden away off the beaten path. My family of 3 had a rather large room with bunk beds and 2 singles along with plenty of dresser space, and a table with 4 chairs. The bathroom was clean and also pretty spacious. The rooms... More

The hostel is situated in a great part of the city. It is very close to the main center of Salzburg, only about a 5 minute walk to the old town. It is situated in a pedestrian area meaning that there is no traffic noise. Very quiet and peaceful. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Although it is... More

Salzburg is an expensive city to lodge and this place could be an option if your budget limited. Is very simple, but is clean, no loud because of the double glass, it is in a very good location and the breakfast is between basic to a bit poor but is ok. If you have a car, you can get a... More

The good - Front desk was friendly, I was able to take my dog and the location is perfect. OK - The rooms are bare bone. Down to no TV, small bed and wifi for only one device Bad - I read previous reviews about the noise. It is true. The area surrounding the hotel is like an echo chamber.... More

We stayed here for one night. It was reasonably comfortable but not great. Its biggest plus is its location. The breakfast is included and is pretty decent. All in all, okay but don't expect too much from the place

When my wife and I stayed there we were treated very courteously. The place is a college dormitory. Our room was very spacious which we pleasantly surprised. Where we stayed is a short walk fro the bridge that crosses over to the old town, when we go again we will stay there again. If you walk from the train station... More

We stayed here for six days in August, 2015. Everything about it was homey, smooth and comfortable. The other people who stay there are helpful in providing information on where to go and how to optimize your time and money. The room was comfortable and had double windows, which keeps any noise out. There is a common cooking area and... More

When searching for a place to stay in Salzburg in August, I found many high-priced options and fully-booked hotels due to the Salzburg Music Festival taking place. I learned about Institut St. Sebastian and was pleasantly surprised to find they had availability at a very reasonable price. The location is very good. It took about 10-15 minutes to walk there... Clean, safe, very close to historic Amsterdam, fun neighborhood. The buffet breakfast was delicious. We had our own triple room, very private and quiet. The rooftop terrace was closed due to students making too much noise, hopefully they will reopen it, I'm sure it has a fantastic view! We were very satisfied and would stay again. There are washers and... More

I was really looking forward to staying at this 'specialty lodging', a cross between a hotel and a hostel. The building itself is super cool, very old and with a lot of great features you can't find in newer buildings. The rooms were perfectly fine, two separate single beds and a baby cot for our party of three. I thought... More
