Terrible place ! The room was not how it looked on line - the food in the restaurant was substandard - the cocktails in the bar were very good however having finished dinner and returning to the bar to find it closed at 10 instead of 12 and there was no pianist as advertised - we only stayed for one of our three nights planned - changed our flight and left !

Super location, class hotel, perfect service at the Hotel Bristol Salzburg. Upon check-in for a birthday weekend vacation, the staff were so accommodating to us, that we visited all the available rooms (for our class of special 3-night rate with breakfast), and picked our favorite for our needs. You’ll see photo’s of two rooms because it was a hard choice! The maid service was charming and included a nightly turn down, with the service for the morning done when we were at breakfast so as to return to a refreshed room. My husband had made arrangements for a rose bouquet and it was arranged and placed as a surprise when the door was opened 💕. Thank you to all of the staff and we do hope to see you again.

We recently visited the beautiful city of Salzburg and stayed at the Hotel Bristol, the location is fantastic! The hotel's charm, history and service were exactly what we were looking for! The service at the hotel was excellent, very attentive and friendly, they truly made us feel welcomed. They were true professionals, from the concierge, the reception, bar and the breakfast restaurant staff they made our stay very enjoyable. The Head Concierge Florian provided us with a very insightful and detailed introduction to the city including in-depth and unique suggestions and insights that some visitors would not come to know. That was fabulous to see and visit some of the hidden gems that he recommended! We would highly recommend the hotel and will be sure to visit it again, maybe in the winter next time!

A charming , slightly old fashioned hotel but none the worse for its traditional approach, service and attention to detail It may not have the most up to date technology, but it is a slight throwback to a personal touch. There are a few wrinkles but as soon as you mention this, they are swiftly managed.

This hotel is ideally located at the Marketplatz, near to all the main attractions in Salzburg. It is one of the grand dames in Salzburg. You can feel it once you step into the traditional lobby and walk along the corridors filled with antiques, ornaments, paintings and tapestries. The service can be rather slow and frustrating though. From reception to room service. All rather at a snail like pace. Nevertheless, all staff were generally courteous. The room was a junior suite. Very expensive at 1000 euros / night including breakfast. The suite was quite large, and faced the former house of Mozart. It had a great view of Salzburg Castle. The room itself was very old and obviously dated, but clean and charming. I asked for a bed board which they provided, thankfully. Everything worked fairly well except for the shower which had low pressure. The breakfast was excellent by European standards. A lovely comprehensive buffet and the staff were all great. All in all a pleasant experience if you like old world charm.

Hotel Bristol is beautiful and situated at prime location of heart of Salzburg. Our hotel hospitality concierge Roswida is knowledgeable, attentive, genuine, warm and extremely helpful. She went out of her way to make our stay truly pleasant and enjoyable. We see the city the best possible way through her guidance. She is such a valuable asset to the Hotel and guests. We think of Salzburg, we think of her.

This is a historic hotel that is just across the river from the old town. It is quite close to a very long pedestrian street with lots of good shopping. The staff were welcoming and helpful. We had a superior double room that was very comfortable. I think the location is perfect. A fairly easy walk from the train station. A great place to come back to for relaxation after wandering the city. I highly recommend the Hotel Bristol.

The building is amazing. Its history is evident and very well-maintained by the management. You feel you are living in an era 400 yrs ago! The rooms are very spacious and decorated according to its history. Even the elevator makes you feel as if you are in the 1800's. The bathroom is very spacious and well equipped. However, the electrical outlets are few and poorly located. The staff from foreign countries are extremely courteous and pleasant. However, the Austrian breakfast staff were rude to us at times. They even tried to chase my brother and his family out of the breakfast table on which they were seating, in a very rude and autocratic way. Not hospitable at all. The Xmas dinner was totally unacceptable! A child playing in the kitchen would have done better. And for 200+ Eu pp Xmas dinner, it was simple mockery. The breakfast buffet was almost every day out of food and juices and we had to wait every time for re-stocking. The glasses were more suitable for liquor shots (way too small). The housekeeping staff would persistently and loudly bang on our doors in the morning and the evening (although there were doorbells on all rooms)... just to ask us if we needed anything! Very annoying! Overall, the hotel has a lot of potential, but the hospitality you encounter at check-in can be quickly cancelled by some untrained and rude staff's behaviour.

The Hotel Bristol is located steps from the famed Mirabell Palace, and gardens featured in the Sound of Music. It also sits just next door to the bar that Christopher Plummer, allegedly hung out at while filming the Sound of Music. This hotel has a very nostalgic vibe. It feels like a hotel from back in time, which is perfect for a visit to Salzburg. It's nicely appointed with a fantastic staff. The Christmas Eve dinner was fantastic, and the staff did a wonderful job of bringing the food to our room because my wife wasn't feeling well. Highly recommended.
