The hotel is really charming, the staff at the reception is friendly, though somewhat inexperienced and the breakfast was rich.

shops and restaurants are easily accessible from the hotel. the old city center is less than a 10 minute walk. some scenes from sound of music were filmed across the street (where the kids and julie andrews were singing in the park with the statues)...
Stayed here for 2 nights in October as part of a tour group. The hotel rooms are clean, comfortable. The only negative was that the furniture was definitely on the tired side – clearly showing significant wear. That said, everything worked, the bed was comfortable,...More

My husband and I walked from the train station. It is a pretty direct route, but takes around 15 minutes. We only had one suitcase each, so walking was easy. At the information desk in the train station, you can ask for the bus number. The bus stop is outside the train station. You can also take a taxi if you have a lot of luggage.
