My mom came to visit me after my semester ended at the University of Salzburg, and since she couldn't stay with me in the dorms, I booked a room for us at Haus Steiner and it was definitely one of the better decisions we made on our trip. (It was pretty great to stay somewhere other than the dorms). It's a cute little house in the countryside of Salzburg and has a nice view of the Alps out the balcony, (where we saw the neighbor's It's about a 30 minute bus ride to the city center, but you get to see the non-touristy part of Salzburg, which is really beautiful. I'm going to miss Salzburg quite a bit when I go back to the States.
I booked my daughter and friend into Haus Steiner a couple of weeks ago. Rosemarie was very quick at responding to my emails and the rooms at the small inn are tastefully decorated. My daughter really enjoyed her stay and we would definitely use Haus Steiner if back in the Salzburg area again.
Haus Steiner was a wonderful place to stay for our 6 days in Salzburg. A short easy bus ride to Old Town Salzburg and several wonderful restaurants within walking distance of our home. Rosemarie was a wonderful hostess with helpful hints and answers to any of the questions about the area. The rooms are warm and inviting, with wonderful views of the mountains, horses and fields. Very relaxing to sit on the balcony after a long day of touring with a glass of wine or beer. Beds very comfortable and bathrooms just the right size. Perfect destination if wanting to visit Salzburg.
We have just returned from an amazing stay a Haus Steiner. We arrived late on a rainy evening and Rosemarie was waiting to greet us when we arrived. Our apartment had a real homely feel to it and was spacious, spotlessly clean and had perfect views from the balcony. We ate locally at two restaurants (a 5 min walk from Haus Steiner) which was great. I would recommend these apartments to everyone. Thank you very much for your warm welcome! We will return, Megan and George.
Haus Steiner has been my favorite place to stay in Salzburg for many years! Clean, quiet, charming.....and expertly run by friendly and helpful Rosemarie.....it never disappoints. In the past, I have stayed in one of the two single rooms......the one with a balcony and breathtaking view over fields where horses graze toward Untersberg, the beginning of the Alpine region to the south. This year I had a spacious, light and airy double room with a lovely little well-appointed kitchen separate from the bedroom. Since this room had no balcony, I enjoyed the view of fields, horses, mountains, and sunsets from the garden. As in the past, it was convenient to use the bus to explore the many attractions, concerts, and restaurants in the world heritage site of old town Salzburg. After a day in town, Haus Steiner continues to be a tranquil oasis to return to with its location on a peaceful cul-du-sac off the more heavily trafficked Moosstrasse. I am already looking forward to returning again next year!…
