Stayed just 1 night, selected the hotel with central location to discover Graz and benefit from nice SPA. Grabbed a good promo price in this COVID period but for this price we got one of the few pure rooms with window to the internal court where you have noisy air conditioning machines all the night. Could not use SPA because not open in the morning. Staff at the reception indicated closing hours of the restaurant at 22.30 , we arrived at 21.55 and were told that kitchen is closing at 22.00 .... too bad Breakfast time reduced, consequently breakfast room was full of people which is not really compliant with COVID distancing rules. Simply bad organzation. Otherwise hotel with nice design and very good location, including underground parking that is very convenient.
This hotel has some great design and thoughtful touches. Rooms are nice and functional, but in need of better soundproofing. As I write this I can hear every single word my neighbors are saying next door. Unfortunately all of these positive features become irrelevant when your front desk staff is unprofessional, rude and incompetent. They make this place feel like one of those cheap trucker motels in the middle of nowhere rather than an urban, sophisticated four star hotel. Based on the previous reviews this seems to be an ongoing issue. Maybe time to address this situation with some additional hospitality training?
I was more than happy with the quality of my stay in this charming hotel in the heart of beautiful Graz, but I certainly had some issues with some rather unprofessional reception staf. First of all, the lady helping us with the check-in never asked for any ID to confirm that I was the one who booked and paid for the weekend-long stay at Das Weitzer. Such a flaw in the security system was a bit odd to me. However, the reason I did not the reception was the rude behaviour by their receptionist Katharina who seemed to be very unprofessional and rude to both my wife and me. I do not want to question this person's qualifications or intentions, but the fact was that she behaved as if we were some beggars from the street. If such people/behaviour remains at this otherwise lovely hotel, we probably won't be coming back there next time we visit Graz. As for the room 246 and the breakfast buffet - I can only highly recommend these!…
A warm and friendly welcome, nothing to complain about in the room, and well located. My only criticism - and it’s partly in jest, although only partly - is the dreadful muzak played loudly in the breakfast room...1975 called and wants it back! Seriously, please update it and at the same time turn the volume down. There’s nothing wrong with the appropriate music in a large space such as your breakfast room but yours is the epitome of how to get it dreadfully wrong, both in choice and volume.
We would like to thank the hotel manager and her team for making our stay in Graz wonderful and unforgettable. The hotel is situated on a great location, our room had a nice small balcony with a view across the river. Hotel has one of the most beautiful wellness we have ever been to overlooking the old town. It's always special if you visit around Christmas time, but your stay becomes even more memorable if you stay in this hotel. We highly recommend the hotel's restaurant, the food was delicious. Thanks again for everything!
