This hotel boasts a practical, prime location close to the old town centre of Graz (and, in our opinon, to some of the best breakfast spots in town, which is not a negligeable benefit). Their employees are not excruciatingly friendly but are nevertheless extremely competent and were even able to accommodate our request for a lower-floor suite. Their bedding is without a doubt the most comfortable that I have ever seen, and the rooms are spacious and imaginatively furnished. All in all, this is a wonderful hotel that I would warmly recommend to anyone who wishes to experience Graz in a quite luxurious light, especially when it comes to the price-performance ratio. There is just one quite peculiar issue that I think should be advertised more prominently: if you are taking a hot shower with the bathroom door open, the fire alarm will go off, and if/when it does, you will have to pay 500€ (as of November 2022) for the unnecessary visit by the fire brigade. I read this in the hotel leaflet, which is available in every room, but I don't think all guests read these booklets (I do, but I adore hotels and love sniffing around every amenity available in the room). Seeing as this was precisely what must have happened to one of the guests in the hotel when we were staying there (elevators were not working, the fire alarm light in the main lobby was blinking and there was a huge fire truck parked in front of the hotel), I think a more public warning would definitely not have gone amiss. Staying in this hotel was an extremely pleasant experience and a wonderful surprise. We didn't get the chance to try out their restaurant Der Steirer, but we did spend quite some time in their café (Kaffe Weitzer) - their warm apple strudel with vanilla sauce is nothing short of exquisite!…
Nice hotel with excellent staff near old city and restaurants area. It's good place to stop on your trip. Parking available. Bright rooms, comfortable beds. Definitely worth recommending especially if you are traveling through Austria to Italy or Croatia.
Easy efficient check-in thanks to wonderful staff. I don’t speak German, so grateful for their excellent English. Modern attractive spaces - lobby, rooms. Very comfortable bed, linens, pillows. Outstanding restaurant Der Schreier. Great scenic location along the Mur river. Easy walk to City Centre, other neighborhoods. And over to the spectacular Schlossberg. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Terrific hotel and very nice staff. Hotel in City Center, close to restaurants and shopping. I forgot my Head Phones in the Hotel Room. The cleaning lady found them, and they sent them to me in Sweden. Great breakfast buffet! Comfortable beds and pillows. Very Clean. I’ve stayed before and will return to the same hotel if in Graz again. Everything good!
The location of this hotel is excellent, the old town is in walking distance and they have a garage. Having checked the reviews on a few websites I however expected a much better hotel. Some rooms are really small, all bathrooms I have seen and heard of in our group are tiny but at modern standard. Breakfast offers quite a few choices, and is served until 11am on weekends. Most staff are not as friendly as one is used to in Austria. Slightly too expensive for what you get.
The location was perfect to tour Graz. We had a nice large room and the bed was comfortable. However, there were a few issues with the room. We were not aware of the step down to get into the bedroom and a step up to get into the bathroom. Not a big deal but I would have preferred to be warned. The main issues were the beautiful hardwood floors squeaked, loudly, whenever and wherever you walked. It was very noisy especially at night when the other person was trying to sleep.
The hotel is just beautiful and perfect located. Just in between the old city and the new city at the river. The staff is very nice and the rooms are superb and clean. They offer really everything from breakfast to drinks after diner. Also the gym is good equipped.
We disregarded the negative reviews because everyone has a bad day sometimes. But wow when we checked in the lady at the front desk was extremely rude. Not only with us but also with our friends who checked in an hour after us. I had asked for a quiet room because I had saw to request that on reviews and her response was “you’re only staying one night so you should be good” seriously? Then our friends checked in and there was confusion with if they paid online or not—she was not helpful and just flat out rude. No smile, no patience, no hospitality. Beds are fine but the pillows are terrible. However, it was clean. If you don’t care about good hospitality or anywhere close to 4 star service….then stay here! We won’t be back.
Excellent as always. It is the best hotel in Graz, very comfortable, best beds ever, friendly stuff, the breakfast is always hier a must have, and in the heart of the City. The price worth it every Cent.
Stayed just 1 night, selected the hotel with central location to discover Graz and benefit from nice SPA. Grabbed a good promo price in this COVID period but for this price we got one of the few pure rooms with window to the internal court where you have noisy air conditioning machines all the night. Could not use SPA because not open in the morning. Staff at the reception indicated closing hours of the restaurant at 22.30 , we arrived at 21.55 and were told that kitchen is closing at 22.00 .... too bad Breakfast time reduced, consequently breakfast room was full of people which is not really compliant with COVID distancing rules. Simply bad organzation. Otherwise hotel with nice design and very good location, including underground parking that is very convenient.
