We arrived in 90+ temperatures. Upon check-in, when asked if we could have a fan since there is no air conditioning, the very aloof man at the desk replied that they had none. He said for 7 months of the year they use heat, so why would they have air or fans? Umm, perhaps for the remaining 5 months?!? When... More

We spent two nights at this hotel late August. Easy access and close to the town centre and the Abbey. Quiet location and quiet room. Car parking just in front of the building. Our room was more than adequate. Large enough and comfortable with a nice balcony overlooking a small inner court. Nice and kind personnel and helpful - the... More

Stayed one night as on cycle tour of Danube. Hotel room was ready when we arrived about 4pm. Our double room very large & clean. No air con but able to open window without hearing traffic noise. Free wifi which worked on and off. Good shower and enough places to plug in your devises to charge (although none by the... More

The location of the Wachauerhof is excellent for going to see the abbey in Melk. We arrived in Melk late in the afternoon and walked through the village down to the Danube. A very pleasant walk with shops and restaurants along the way. On the way back (uphill) we divided the trip into two parts by stopping for dinner halfway... More

Stayed one night in early June as part of a walking tour of the Wachau. The room was clean but a bit light on extras such as tissues, soaps etc. Location is quite good being close to main part of town but far enough away to be quiet. Breakfast was adequate but a few more fresh items would have helped.The... More

Booked this to stay as part of cycling the Danube Way to Vienna from Passau. Nice hotel lots of secure locking for bikes, although if you have your own keep it well away from the tour groups on rental bikes, as they have no respect for privately owned stuff. Bit of a problem in that the hotel states rooms are... More

The room was very clean and the beds were nice. Breakfast was nice I think fresh fruit would have been nice. We spent the night and for the cost I felt it was reasonable. The owner works extremely hard. He was very kind to us.

Nice big rooms but hotel a bit anonymous. Bar pleasant and reasonable breakfasts. Also has restaurant attached to the hotel which was well frequented. Very good location for centre of town and close to the monastery. Plenty of parking including for bikes

Rooms: one of the best that I stayed in in the last year. The seem as they were renewed. Breakfast is good. But the hotel lacks of atmosphere. It was practically empty, the staff is poor with English and I felt like I was alone there. Maybe because it is not the main season ...

We stayed one night in this Hotel and found it to be quite comfortable and perfectly adequate for a short stay. The rooms were extremely clean and very comfortable. Absolutely no complaints there. The only difficult part was that the staff we encountered spoke very little English so it made some things a little hard as we also spoke very... More
