The first time I stayed in Durnstein was with my wife - she likes 3-4 star hotels - so we stayed in the most expensive one in town, now about 200 Euro. Nice, but not worth the price. The second time I visited Durnstein I stayed in Krems, but spent a day in Durnstein. It was summer, and I had...

Wonderful spot with a great patio. Sitting outside was pleasing - wait staff very attentive. We had a small plate of Vienna sausage (NOT like in the US!) and some local wine gruner viltliner of course! Will return - located just down the hill from the Main Street!

We enjoyed very much our stay in this pleasent hotel. The staff was very welcoming and eager to fulfill every wish and make our stay perfect. E.g: as my wife is vegetarian, she asked some vegetables for breakfast and all the mornings a plate with tomato and cucumber was waiting for her.

My mother and I stayed here for three nights. The hotel is in a perfect location (central yet quiet) and is extremely clean and well-maintained. Our room was very spacious, comfortable and we had a lovely view of the castle ruins and the river. The free wifi was great, and the breakfast each morning was tasty and filling. It wasn't...

After winding our way through narrow cobbled streets, we were warmly greeted at this family run hotel, and helped to park (extra 8 euros). Our bags were then carried up to our room (through more winding, but wide, corridors) on the 2nd floor (what we call the 3rd floor on this continent). An old fashioned key unlocked the first of...

The Hotel Sanger Blondel has a lot of things going for it - friendly, hospitable staff, a location right on the banks of the scenic Danube, vineyards a short stroll away, but I will focus on the restaurant. It was purely out of convenience that my family and I decided to dine where we were staying, and it turned out...

We didn't stay at the hotel but stopped by at the outdoor cafe for lunch on a day when we were visiting Durnstein so this review is about the cafe and not about the hotel itself. It was that time of the year when the gardens were in full bloom and it's difficult to describe just out beautiful the outdoor...
