A brief one night stay was enough to welcome the ‘next time in Monaco’ the Columbus will be the chosen one. A generously proportioned room was most welcome; room service owing to restaurant closure was just right. With a dearth of early morning Sunday taxis, the hotel transport was swiftly called into action. A nice touch.

Lovely room for the price in the area. Spacious, clean and very comfortable beds. A little strange when you arrive as the concierge is on the ground floor and you have to go up to the 1st floor for the reception. Good location - a little away from the main marina but it was easy to jump on a bus for one stop to get through the tunnel to the main port. After that everything was walkable but the tunnel to get from the smaller port near the hotel to the main port seamed to be for vehicles only. The bus was a very reasonable price - about €2 a ride or €5.50 for 24hrs. You can either pay the driver in cash or buy a card at the machines placed at most of bus stops. Staff were ok - sometimes a little rude and when we questioned why the hotel parking charge (€40pn) was DOUBLE the charge of the public car park (€20pn) which was seconds away, their answer was ‘it’s monaco’! So my only advice would be to park in the public parking if you need to park. The pool was lovely and relaxing with great views.

Dear Harvey, We thank you very much for taking the time to share this detailed review which will give our future visitors a nice idea of the Columbus Monte-Carlo. We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. Concerning the hotel parking price, we emphasize on the value of our service by the fact that paying 40 € to arrive with style, leave the car to the valet, be assisted with your luggage and have your vehicle safe, is a fair price in Monaco We hope to welcome you back during your next trip to the Principality of Monaco. Best regards, Victoria Stevenson - General Manager.

The hotel is well positioned to the town and following its refurbishment it looks and feels really good (the replacement carpets have really uplifted the interior). We had a King sized room overlooking the Princess Grace Garden. Bizarrely, the towel-rail in the bathroom was a plastic upright rail of the type you can purchase in a market or on-line for £10 !! 🥴 On the whole the staff are very good and helpful but breakfast was badly run on both days. Today, was almost laughably bad - having sat us down we waited for 15 mins to be served (there were three tables waiting), one customer went to complain, and got nowhere then 10mins later I went to Reception to complain. Customer 1 then left as his taxi had arrived. We were finally served but there were no plates and I received a mug of milk flavoured with a hint of coffee - it was so bad that my wife (not a coffee drinker) insisted she try this newly invented insipid drink. “That’s awful” she pronounced - yes it was that bad. By now we had been in the breakfast room for 25 mins and there was no way I was waiting for another attempt at coffee-making. We do recommend the Columbus, we have stayed before and will do again, but management seriously, get a grip of the breakfast service 😬

I booked one night to spend my 22nd birthday in the city and I'm very grateful to the hotel staff. Thank you so much for answering all my questions sent by email, for the receptivity of Joana and all of the concierge service (they helped me a lot!). The hotel is excellent, it's more located in a local neighborhood of Monaco, which looks calm and beautiful! It is an excellent cost benefit for a hotel that is certainly more than 3 stars! Regarding to my room ... I loved mine, I stayed in a luxury room with a city view (nº 607), it has a beautiful balcony and a small side view of the sea. The only negative point for me was the TV, because on the website I booked it stated that they were smarts tvs, but in my room wasn't, so I had to see the local channels, they are a little complicated for me, since I don't speak French fluently. However, that was just a detail on a wonderful day! I will definitely return to this hotel one day!
