Stayed at the Metropole 3 night while visiting Monte-Carlo, Eze and Nice. The hotel is located next to a shopping mall, 1-minute walk to the Casino and a small park across the street. In case you’re taking your furry friends.

The hotel has a grand entrance, but much smaller in person than pictures. Lobby is beautifully decorated with amazing flower arrangements everywhere. Rooms are extremely small, to a point we had no room for our luggage - 2 large, 1 small and backpacks – we had to hop over our bed to get around 😊. However, the room was very nicely decorated and comfortable. Our particular room had limited view of a wall, so it made it dark and depressing when in the room. It was rainy and cold in May, so we couldn’t take advantage of having a drink at the pool bar, although it didn’t seem to bother people swimming and drinking by the pool. The music and vibes around the pool bar were quite inviting, just wished it had been a bit warmer.

Food service was quick but extremely expensive.

Overall, great hotel. Maybe next time I would question the type of room (size) before booking.

Just back from an amazing stay at this lovely Hotel - it surpassed my expectations! The staff were lovely, couldn't do enough to be helpful, nothing was too much trouble and they upgraded me to a Junior Suite which was beautiful! The pictures don't do the Hotel justice and they even allowed me a free extension so I didn't need to check out the next day until 5pm! Room service was 5* with a little table light, and fresh flowers, very high quality. The Pool was 30 degrees so perfect for year round swimming and had a very good night sleep with superb beds. I'll be back! Special thanks to Celine Veillas (the Guest Relations Manager) who made me feel like family, and David, who kindly not only gave me a free lift in their little car back to the station, but carried my heavy luggage for me onto the train platform. Super impressed and I'll be back!...

The insiders do know very well, that the Hotel Metropole is considered as the "best hotel" in Monte Carlo. The service is flawless, charming and the staff does its very best to keep you content and happy. I am a pool person; therefore this absolutely adorable sea water pool with its soothing background music is exactly my taste. The spa is on a level of sophistication you won't easily find somewhere else. What do you expect from a luxury hotel? You want to feel at home and pampered, you want to enjoy great cuisine, an outstanding service, a cozy room, a fast room cleaning service (you return from your breakfast and the room has been done - just like magic!). As a frequent summer time traveller to Monaco this was my first time to go there for Christmas - and I loved it! The Metropole will stay on my travel list, it puts you into a different bubble of energy and I will return for sure.

We've stayed at MANY hotels because we are frequent travelers, but this was the BEST hotel experience we've ever had. We came here for our anniversary and wish we stayed at this hotel longer. First of all, what makes this hotel 10-stars is the staff. The hotel's service is exceptional. Their service is equivalent to a Michelin stars' restaurant service. They actually do have a Michelin star restaurant in their hotel which we dined at (Joel Robuchon) and it was incredible. We dined at several different Michelin star restaurants (including Hotel de Paris' Alain Ducasse) during our stay in Europe and this was our favorite meal and dining experience. Furthermore, aside from being a beautiful hotel with sophisticated decor, the location of the hotel is very convenient and it is attached to a shopping mall. The rooms are large and the bathrooms are spacious. In any case, we will definitely want to return to stay at this hotel and we are so grateful to the valet driver who taught my husband to drive a stick-shift (yes, that's how great this hotel is). Thank you to the wonderful hotel front-desk staff as well for making our experience in Monaco so memorable.

I would really not recommend staying here. To call the rooms dated would be an understatement. It looks like they were last done in the ‘80’s; the most ridiculous thing was that there was no outlet anywhere near the bed and also no alarm clock, so you needed to run across the room to turn your phone off. We asked for an extension cord four times only to finally get it on our last night.

I understand this is Monaco and everything is going to be very expensive, but to charge what they do for a hotel like this is just gouging. We also had room service breakfast and they charged us for ordering three cereals for two people - conical nickel and dime stuff when of course that would be fine at a buffet. They did that several times and despite telling me at checkout they would take it off the bill did not.

We have stayed in the majority of hotels in Monaco but not this one, so thought we would try it this summer for a short trip to the SoF.
The hotel itself is very dated, along with the rooms. In addition to this, service from reception was non-existent and we could not get through to them when calling from the room. I had to call the concierge desk and ask them to put us through to reception and this was not always successful.
The bathroom in the room was a good size but again, very dated. In addition to this, the sink did not drain out the water. Despite reporting this issue to the reception desk (face to face), the issue was not resolved and no body bothered to follow up.
Upon raising a complaint about the issue (after checking out), the customer relation team reverted by stating that the reception desk had no record of the issue being reported. It’s appalling that guests are expected to pay the full room rate (approx. EUR 1,000 per night) when a room is not fully functioning. In addition to this, we have effectively been accused of raising a false claim, as no issue with the sink was logged with the house keeping team.
In addition to this, our billing on check out was incorrect and we had not been charged for some items consumed by the pool. Their systems are clearly archaic and it took a very long time for the invoice to be corrected. There was also little appreciation for our honesty regarding costs not invoiced. I guess very few people ask for bills to be corrected if they gain from charges not invoiced.
The only real positive about the hotel is the pool. This is really lovely and staff servicing this area are great. However, if you’re looking to stay in Monaco, I would opt for other renowned hotels with better facilities and true 5 star service. This hotel does not treat it’s guests well when there are issues/complaints. The only compensation offered was a room upgrade on our next stay. Not sure why they would expect guests to return given the awful experience and poor service experienced!

What a fabulous hotel!!

Staff are absolutely brilliant, from check in to check out.

Rooms are out of this world, showcasing old world french charm.

The swimming pool area really is special, having been designed by Karl Lagerfeld

All covid protocol and masks followed by all
Staff and guests too, which is very good to see

The only slightly odd thing is having to pay extra for fried or poached eggs at breakfast. Considering the price of a night’s stay, seems a little unnecessary. But a very tiny minor in what was a wonderful stay

My husband booked a trip to this outstanding hotel in Montecarlo for my 50th birthday. It’s outstanding because of the location, the entrance, the welcome we received by the lovely helpful Rachel, the room with a sea view, the surprise birthday cake brought to my room, the hard working concierge, the breakfast, the pool area but most of all the incredible, attentive, polite, friendly and helpful staff who were all an amazing team that ensured we wanted for nothing. I have never experienced service like it. The staff thought of things you didn’t even know that you needed. The swimming pool was designed by Karl Lagerfeld and was magnificently stunning with real Swarovski crystals fixed into the bottom of the pool. The sun beds are the biggest and comfiest I’ve ever experienced. You may think that guests at this hotel could be rather ‘high and night’ but we talked to a lot of really wonderful and interesting people around the pool. There was no pretentiousness in sight. The concierge team worked tirelessly organising restaurant and taxi bookings etc to ensure everyone made the most of your holiday. This really was one of the most special holidays of a lifetime and this hotel definitely contributed to the reason why. Finally I need to add that the hotels location is a two minute walk to the Casino which is swarming with onlookers and premium cars. The casino is a must to visit if only to people watch. I always feel sad when it’s time to travel home after a holiday but on this occasion I actually cried. Thank you to all the staff for helping my husband and I have the holiday of a lifetime. xxx

A Palace with exceptional good taste in everything, from forniture details to the help given to people who choose to stay here. One perceives the unique atmosphere as soon as he/she gets in: the lights are kept low so as to allow relax; the perfume pervades the whole area like a sweet caress and the whole staff are just there to share in your joy at this unique experience with their knowledge on how to make a guest feel very Welcome. As to the room,not even King Louis XIV could have a more perfect bed and the same could be said of the pillows. The room although in the classical style, had all the contemporary comforts that we need such as hugeTV ,Bath tub and shower with perfect water temperature.I loved to explore the halls looking at valuable details of historical importance: armchairs and the paintings of Princes that made the Principality history centuries ago along with lamps and tables of value.
Exceptional breakfast: plentiful, genuine and tasty. I'll return. UNFORGETTABLE and FOR. MI. DA. BLE!

50 euros for a Gin and Tonic (Cafe de Paris is 30 euros) and 28 euros for a glass of wine (17 euros) shows the hotel management have lost contact with reality.
The bar area is a major problem with this hotel.
The very lovely and atmospheric bar area is completely empty. Maybe because of the price of drinks but mainly due to the bar staff refusing guests to be able to sit in the bar. Having returned from dinner at the Hotel de Paris we went to the bar for a night cap. The waiter refused to serve us in the bar and shoved us towards a tiny table in the entrance. He claimed “The tables are set up for breakfast!” This is a lie as no one sits in the bar for breakfast. Shameful!
We had a battle to get a tea making facility in our room. Eventually, we were allowed a kettle. When I asked for some tea bags, I was told that the hotel supplies two tea bags at a cost of 30 euros!!!! Again shameful.
A pity because Concierge, House Keeping Restaurant and Reception staff are all helpful but management need to seriously look at their business model. They are living in the past.
