Detailed Reviews
This place has a long history and already existed in the 1950s.
Given that you shouldn't expect a completely renovated new hotel yet a cute little place to rest after hour hikes.
The rooms are clean and some have a balcony overlooking the beautiful valley and the olympus. The staff speaks English and was very friendly.
The hotel is clean and the All you can eat breakfast for 6,50€ per person is best to enjoy on the terrace outside.
The rooms don't have air conditioning but a little fan so it'll get hot in summer.
Would totally stay there again!

When we arrived from the southern region in 38c we were kind of scared when we saw the room had no air conditioning. Luckily temperatures in Pedoulas were not as hot as in Paphos/Nicosia. A fan and an open window helped more then we thought. Upon arrival the owner welcomed us and I felt kind of bad because we were the only guests in the hotel because of covid. The owner was very kind and gave us 2 good rooms. The room itself was fine and had a fan and a balcony, the bathroom however was a bit weird in my opinion. They lowered the ceiling and raised the ground to make the bathroom 1.85m tall. There mustve been reasons as to why they did it but because we stayed here for 1 night it wasnt really a bother. Breakfast was good and very sympathic that there even was breakfast because we were the only guests. For a night stay a good place!

One of the oldest hotel in Pedoulas. We had a double room for a family of 4 which was ok. Bu bathroom was a bit small and tight but we managed. It was cold in Pedoulas but room was always warm and heating was on.
Breakfast was included and was ok to with the basic to start the day.
Hotel it is is in convenient location to walk around the village and tavernas are just a few steps from hotel same as mini market.
Nice option for short stay and big terrace ideal for summer.

Poor room and shower-(so small! ) . Basic breakfast..
I Read good reviwes about the hotel, but we were desapointed.
The villagge, however , was nice and pleasent. Lovely panorama, and very
good food. The residents were very nice and closey.

I'd like to say a sincere thanks to Andreas and Rhea for making our four day break so memorable. The price was so cheap I expected much less in the way of quality than we received. The hotel was spotless and breakfast simple but adequate. Andreas even took the trouble to assist with phone calls and eventually came with me when the automatic payment machine didn't work at the unmanned petrol station. My wife and I fell in love Pedoulas and the hotel immediately. Can't wait to return.

This hotel was not nice at all. It was very very cold in the rooms and I had to ask for central heating to be put on but it takes so long to warm up. Also no hot water was available until the morning. We did eat here on our first day which me and my partner was very dissapointed with the food. Staff seemed ok but very quiet, almost not wanting any interaction with the guests. Seemed a little strange in there at times. I definately wouldn't stop at this hotel again. It had a creepy feel about it :-( We were actually pleased to get out of there!!

Response from Andreas P, Owner at Christy's Palace Hotel

We accept any kind of reviews because they help us to develop ourselves. But, writing unfounded comments, to our belief, they do create bad feelings and they do not provide good ground for future co-operation. We remind people that we do not offer food, we work only on Bed and Breakfast terms, so we cannot understand the negative comments on food. The Manager and our staff are doing their best to satisfy the needs of guests in whatever nature and at whatever cost. We found out that a number of guests expect to find a 3 or 4 stars hotel services with only €15 per day BB. This is not possible and we advise this kind of guests to choose high class hotels instead of expressing bitter comments.

Arrived at the hotel to find there was no central heating on or hot water available. We asked the staff if they could turn it on to which he replied the heating and water come on between 6am and 10am in the mornings. The staff were very unwelcoming. It was a cold dull hotel, The room was filthy and in the 3 days we were there we did not have our beds made, floor cleaned or bins emptied. The breakfast was awful so we decided to eat at other hotels. The staff never spoke to us or asked how our stay was. They seemed very lazy and unwilling to do anything we asked. There was a big urine stain on the matress and the room had a very fusty dirty smell. I feel cheated out of 180 euros. I had to shower my 2 year old in freezing cold water. I found the stay a hassel and very stressful.

We totally disagree with contents of respective review and believe us we cannot understand the motives of client. We do not remember to have ever turned down any requirement of customers even though sometimes these requirements are costly and very difficult to apply. If terms of stay are Bed and Breakfast and customers did not even aproach the table where breakfast is served, we are of the opinion that they have no right to add negative comments in their review. We employ a young lady who is always willing to clean the rooms and empty the bins. We admit it is not possible to satisfy the needs of every customer. People visit us from all over the world, different civilizations, different religion and different requirements. As a family run hotel we do our utmost to offer the best of ourselves. We appreciate reviews who are written in goodwil, after all these reviews give us the oportunity to develop our premises and our services and we strongly believe that reviews should be directed to these ends.

This hotel is free from the commercial brashness of Limasol; it is a mountain retreat in a small village full of charming people. Good, basic Cypriot breakfast which we found adequate, nice rooms, clean & tidy. Would swap the Amadeus or Atlantic resort ( both 5 star) anyday to be a guest of the delightful people who run this place. Amenities are perhaps somewhat basic, but we were more than happy to be guests, and lacked for nothing. And, did I say we will be back? Is the Pope a catholic?

We stayed here one night during a walking holiday and didn't choose the accommodation ourselves but I guess there was nowhere else to stay in this little village. I don't think this place had changed since the 1950s including the sheets which were so thin you could see through them. And we were horrified to find a pair of old Y-fronts down the back of the mattress!
The dining room/lounge was huge, dark and old fashioned and there was no-one there apart from us and presumably the owner watching TV and ignoring us. The lady who served us didn't speak either and left all three courses on the table at once to save any further interaction. I imagine neither of them spoke English.
I know this is only a budget hotel but next time we walk to Pedoulas I think we will get a taxi to take us back to Troodos for the night.

Responded May 4, 2015
Dear Barbara50 Though a long time elapsed since you submitted your review for CHRISTYS PALACE HOTEL in Pedoulas, Cyprus, yet as Manager of this hotel I kindly request you to remove your review . I have just read it and believe me I was surprised for its contents. To my belief we were worthy of your sympathy if per chance certain things happened not to comply fully with your requirements. We disagree on certain points of your remarks i.e. both the waitress an myself speak fluent English, you did not give us the chance to speak to you, we know the weak points of the hotel and that is exactly the reason we charge low prices. After all one GETS WHAT HE PAIDS FOR. We understand your position, but believe us that review if it continues to stand as it is, it will damage further the hotel repudiation. We are confident you realize the seriousness of the situation and you will not hesitate to remove it. Thank you for staying with us. Andreas, Manager

There should be a bus for the village but you need to call the mumicipality and ask! We had a car!
I can only speak for my wife myself and say we loved the place and had a wonderful time here.
