A friendly hotel, good value for money, well placed near the harbour, the room was cleaned every day, the bed was very comfortable, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the layout of the lounges led to ease of conversation. The pool area was clean as were the sun beds. The only down side was the number of steps up to the front door and in reception, it is not a place to go if you have difficulty with steps at all. If a ramp had been installed it would have made life much easier.
This hotel I would not recommend for anyone who has mobility difficulties as there are steps everywhere and no ramps. Nowhere is wheelchair accessible, even from the road. This is a pity as the hotel and it's staff is good. The rooms are spacious and have walk in showers. Our room was serviced daily to a high standard. Breakfast is taken in the restaurant and is buffet style. Little variation from day to day but plenty of choice. There is a nice sized swimming pool as well as gardens and a sundeck. It is near to shops, restaurants and beachside walk. Buses are also close. As for staff, they are all pleasant, particularly in the restaurant where we were not ignored and always asked how we were. Reception was efficient, particularly Santa . Although there is only a small car park, we managed to park each night. The bar was pleasant and had a log fire. Prices were not excessive for a 3 star hotel. …
Chose this hotel as it was central, and had some good reviews. Wasn’t expecting too much as it is only 3* but we were pleasantly surprised. Great location 2 mins from centre, hotel is well established and great staff. Santa at the front desk is a star! Rooms clean and comfortable, tv a bit small but totally adequate. We had a room in the main building, so was quiet. Rooms overlooking pool are excellent with sea view if you choose to upgrade. Pool area is really nice and always plenty of sun facing beds (we went in March, so peak season may be a struggle to guarantee a bed) Breakfast and dinner were good, breakfast the same each day, but I always enjoyed it. As a veg/ pesk I always found something to eat, plenty of good salads on offer. Hotel bar really reasonable and good desls on happy hour at the adjoining bar/restaurant. Reception staff can organise day trips for you too. All of the staff were great, from reception, bar and dining. A real asset. We are in our 40s and at the time of our trip, it was a mostly older crowd, so it’s not the most vibrant for meeting other younger families/ couples etc. can’t comment about the clientele during holiday season. Just book it, you won’t regret it. …
We were put in the annexe in room 608 we had asked for a high room with a walk in shower which we got we had to ask for assistance with our luggage as you enter the building via steps go past rooms on this floor until you get to the lift then up one floor to room 608 opposite the lift We checked in with about 8 other people who were all younger than us and they were allocated the main building with a lift close to reception, bar and restaurant I dont think the receptionist realized how old we were in our 80's however we got used to the long walk. Our room was a large 3 bedded room with plenty of storage space a large balcony with a not very nice view but otherwise it was ok The breakfast was good a bit cold sometimes but replenished regularly so overall ok We were half board and the evening meals were very bland the description never matched the actual dish e.g chicken in mushroom sauce you didnt get a hint of mushroom in the sauce We ate out for 4 nights out of 10 twice in la place owned by the hotel and the food was really good we also went Chinese next to Costa coffee and had an excellent meal The bar prices were very good just over 7 Euros for a pint and wine, the service was a bit hit and miss as the barman was also looking after the restaurant drinks as well If you drink or eat in la place royale and show you key card you get 10% off Pafos sea front was spoilt whilst we were there loads of ugly concrete barriers placed along the sea front which blocked off the sea view from some of the bars and restaurants it was great when we arrived for the first couple of days The hotel Dionysos is as it says Central to everything so we enjoyed our 10 days…
Fantastic hotel well located near the harbour in Paphos. The staff were so friendly and the food was great. We paid a £5 pppn supplement for evening meal and it was bargain of the century. The room was spotless and very comfortable. My only slight gripe was the elevated sunbed area near the pool could have done with a mop down.
We thought the hotel was lovely, very homely, exellent location , the staff did every thing they could to make our holiday. We had a sea view , it was worth the supliment .we had half board , I found the food good because I am a meat and fish eater, but my friend is a vegitarian and would have appreciated at least one option , but apart from that we were very happy with the hotel , and if we vist paphos again we would stay there .we would also recommend the restaurant adjoining the hotel .
Although I have a few very minor quibbles, overall I thought this hotel excellent. Right at the top of the great things about it is the staff. It isn't a big hotel so the staff members soon become familiar faces, and every one of them is friendly, kind, hardworking, and efficient. We were in a de luxe room in the main building with a pleasant view of a church and, if we looked to the side, the sea. Our room was a good size, quiet, comfortable, and well equipped with everything we needed, including a kettle, good wifi, fast shower, towelling robes. The cleaning staff kept it spotless, and clean towels were provided regularly. The public areas were very pleasant indeed - lots of comfortable sofas inside, a log fire in the bar on chillier evenings, pleasant places to sit outside. It was well located near to the promenade, the largest archeological site, the bus station, plus many shops, bars, restaurants. We had half board. The breakfasts were good, especially the yogurt, though the variety wasn't huge. The evening meals were a good choice of salads, plus about four options for the main course. The desserts were the worst part really - either cake or some sort of mousse.…
We have just returned from a 2 week holiday and thought we had booked a deluxe room with sea view. The sea view was very pleasant which is more that can be said of the room itself.Storage poor with drawers being very shallow & some had no handles.Electric points were hidden behind furniture & fitted fridge so we had to unplug the tv when we needed to use the kettle & vice versa. The rooms were dark especially the bathroom, the shower had no shelf to store toiletries & you had to put them on the floor which was totally unsuitable. There was a bracket on the wall for a soap dispenser but no dispenser, the dispenser above the handbasin was either empty or broken but we could not get anything out of it.The balcony did not have clear perspex as illustrated in the picture. The curtain was ragged & had several holes in it.The inside wall to the side of the balcony was splashed the full lengh with a dark substance. The bedside lampshades were extremely stained & one of the reading lights did not work. When we came to check out we were told there was a bar tab to settle which we could prove was not ours (someone had used our room number to open a bar tab) the hotel needs to change their system & ask guests to show their room key when ordering food & drinks. The hotel is in a very central location. The staff are all very friendly & the buffet breakfast is perfectly adequate. Shame that The room was a let down. The…
Centrally located for the beach, harbour, bars and restaurants plus a great local bus service ensures there is plenty to do in this area. The hotel is pleasantly Cypriot, exceptionally clean, very traditional and has hospitable staff. Some interesting historical artifacts are placed around the hotel along with old photos of Cyprus. Very interesting as is the detail of when the hotel was built along with the type of stone used. It was very warm in the daytime, spent mainly poolside but as the evenings were chilly there was a wonderful roaring wood fire in both the lounge and also the bar next door, La Place Royale. We stayed the end of February in the annex, room 615 with view of the car park and this was fine as we did not use the balcony much. It had sun in the morning and shade in the afternoon. As others have mentioned....the late night noise from a local nightclub but we found if we closed the shutters and the balcony doors the noise did not bother us. The staff in the hotel are amazing. The cleaners work very hard and there was a sweet young cleaner on our floor who always seemed to be busy. The staff in the restaurant were discreet and attentive and so lovely. They are a credit to the hotel. Reception staff are the first port of call if you need anything. I'd forgotten Cyprus has the same electricity as the UK but we were loaned an adapter which was a great help. The TV does not have English channels but we prefer to read books on holiday. We hope to return as we love the traditional atmosphere here and of course the wonderful Cypriot hospitality. Thank you for a lovely holiday regards Ian and Eugenia…
just returned from a wk half board holiday. the hotel was excellent, i stayed in room 515, no noise the beds super comfortable. the staff was all amazing from the receptionist to the restaurant staff to the housekeeping. Full sized bath with hot water, and complimentary tea and coffee, if you want be to be uber picky the ceiling fan could do with a dust. the hotel is 200 steps to the harbour front which is ideal for people with disabilities. on arrival i needed assistance with my suitcase up the steps, Santa the receptionist appeared from nowhere to help which was amazing, not dismissing Olga's kind advise. i cannot rate this little gem enough. Food was lovely with 5 or 6 dishes to choose from and ample salad choices, puddings limited as with most European hotels i have stayed in, but you didn't need a desert to be honest. will absolutely return to this little gem of Cyprus. thank you to each and everyone of the amazing staff,…
