Detailed Reviews
My friend and I stayed a week in February in the Axiothea Hotel. We had a lovely, bright room with a balcony overlooking the sea. The family who run the hotel could not be more helpful and friendly. I had discovered they were very efficient before we left London. Michael booked our taxi in advance and marked up a map with restaurants, bus stops and sites to visit as soon as we arrived. We were also provided with a kettle and hairdryer. There are 63 steps down to the nearest bus stop but another bus stop can be reached without taking the steps. We liked staying in the old town but some people may prefer to be closer to the sea. The Axiothea is on top of a hill with a great view over Paphos and looking out to sea. It's a short bus ride to the Paphos coast. Breakfasts are delightful. Apart from fresh fruit salad there was a great range of homemade jams/marmalades and home-made Cypriot cakes. I particularly liked the plain orange & walnut? cake and the orange semolina cake cooked in syrup. We also had delicious rice pudding cooked with rose water.

+1
This charming hotel in Paphos was lovely to experience in every way, from my meticulously clean (beautifully decorated), quiet and cozy room with a seaside view to the charming, friendly, helpful and accommodating staff.
It's a family run hotel and you couldn't find a warmer atmosphere than at Axiothea Hotel. I visited serveral cities in Cyprus including Larnaka, Limmasol, and Nicosia, and I have to say that hands down, the Axiothea Hotel in Paphos was my favourite hotel that I stayed at while visiting Cyprus over two weeks.
The owner Michael, told me what bus stop to get off at (from Limmasol) and gave me very accurate directions to the hotel, using a map he sent me to WhatsApp. How many people would take the time to do this? It just shows how accommodating the people at Axiothea are with their guests.
The breakfast buffet was amazing in terms of the choices, fruit, cereals, eggs, cakes..the list goes on, really something for every taste, even vegan options. There was even homemade jams made by members of the extended family.
The location of the hotel is ideal to exlore the old town (a 10-minute walk away), plus to a multitude of restaurants and cafes, and to the main bus stop area for the intercity buses which take you from town to town in Cyprus. About a 100 metres away is one of the nicest restaurants in Paphos the "Muse" restaurant. A nearby bus stop will take you to the archeological sites and the seaside.
I stayed at Axiothea for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. There is always someone at the front desk to help out with information you might need about Paphos.
I felt safe and secure there as a solo traveler, but a great place for families, couples or groups.
This is a hotel with heart and it gets five stars from me.

I have recently spent 2 nights at Axiothea Hotel in Paphos. Though it is a 2-star hotel it definitely exceeded my expectations; this property deserves far more merit than 2 stars.
Due to a late flight, we arrived at the hotel after the Reception closing time, but they kindly waited for us and gave us a bottle of complimentary water and lent us the proper plug adapter. We were granted a room on the third floor with a stunning view of the sea and the lower Paphos from the balcony. It might be a bit far from the beach, but the location on the edge of a rise and the proximity to the Old Town make up for it, especially that there is public transportation within a few hundred meters of the door.
The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, with all the amenities one might need: free toiletries, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, air conditioning. The only downside is that there was not safe box, nevertheless I felt very safe to leave my valuables in the room.
Breakfast was delicious, with lots to choose from: lemonade, cake and jam were homemade, sausage, eggs, omlette, yoghurts, olives and more all available and in plentiful amounts.
This would be a good choice in Paphos for anyone.

Like the old Greek acropolises, the Axiothea hotel is perched on top of a hill overlooking Neo Paphos. Its around a 25mins walk away from the center or a 10min bus ride on the infrequent 618.
The staff were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast was amazing. One of the finest spreads in Europe, however the replenishment could have been a bit quicker.
The rooms were spacious and most of them had balconies. My room overlooked an occupied residential complex which made it a bit weird as the residents could stare directly into my room. The establishment's rules are posted everywhere and they involve changing towels every 3 days and linen every 5 days. I understand the logic behind these guidelines but their appliance should have exceptions. I had accidentally spilled some food on my bed and even in this case, my stained bed-sheets weren't changed. It was the same case with my used utensils (glass), which weren't cleaned/replaced.
There were no ports next to the bed and the only way to charge your electronics was through an extension cord with limited outlets. I had to choose between charging my laptop or keeping the refrigerator running. Finally the room was a little under equipped as normal items like kettle, spoons, tea/coffee were missing.
The wifi throughout the property was amazing and the AC was powerful. The Axiothea is a solid choice if you want to stay near the old town, but you should choose a property near the harbour if you want to be close to the action.

Dear Guest, thank you for taking the time to write you review and remarks, all well noted and we will adjust accordingly if required. Allow us though to point out a few things: 1. house policies are set to be followed and of course in case there is a solid reason to make exceptions, then we do indeed adjust. 2. If your linen required changing due to an accident and our chambermaid did not see this (also by accident), all you needed to do was just inform us. The fact that you "let it pass" raises questions. 3. We have various room types, some overlooking the sea and panoramic views, some at the back side with direct views to the adjacent residential complex. All room type descriptions are very detailed and thorough online, it's a matter of guest choice, financial budget and of course availability. 4. Our hotel is the oldest in operation in Paphos, turning 50 consistent years very soon. By definition, we are an old establishment thus the style and character of our building and furnishing. By all means though, there are "no discounts" to cleanliness, amenities and facilities (keeping in mind that we are a small 2 star B&B hotel). 5. Electricity plugs are available in all rooms, at least 2. We always have gadgets available at the reception (adaptors, extensions, converters etc.) for free use by our guests if required. The statement "had to choose between charging my laptop or keeping the refrigerator running" is at least not accurate and misleading. We wish you all the very best. Michael.

This hotel has a big heart: the staff are all so kind and helpful.
Upon checking in they offer you a travel adaptor and have a basket full of these useful gadgets for guest use. I’ve never seen a hotel offer these out as a matter of course. It’s really thoughtful of management.
They upgraded me to a lovely sea view room. Simple but spacious and super clean.
It rained in the afternoon and upon returning to the hotel the manager showed me where I could borrow an umbrella snd advised me to walk around with it as the weather forecast for the next few days wasn’t great. Again, very thoughtful and trusting of their guests.
Breakfast initially didn’t look like much if you like healthy foods with sugary cereals, cakes; meat and cheese cold cuts and fruit salad on display. But then I was offered a cooked egg breakfast. And would I like some grilled Halloumi with my fried egg. Ended up having s lovely healthy cooked breakfast with veggies and lovely Greek yoghurt. Truly, a very good breakfast for a two star rated hotel.
WIFI is free and worked great.
The hotel is a 30 minute walk to the sea area and you can find several restaurants that have a decent rating a ten minute walk from the hotel.
I’d happily stay here again.

I arrived very early, 9.15am, without giving the hotel a heads up because I had no idea when I would arrive in Pafos. I told them I'd like to store my luggage while I explored the town, but they told me they upgraded my room, and it was already ready. When I explained I would leave early the next day, they were happy to swap my breakfast so I had breakfast on the day of arrival.
The large bottle of water (with free re-fills in the lobby) and socket adapter were a nice welcome, and much better than I've experienced in other hotels.
The room was very clean and cleverly organized. I particularly liked the bathroom. The location is a bit far from the beach and some of the major tourist attractions, but in exchange you avoid the crowds.
They had no problem arranging early checkout before the reception was open. The night security guard even offered me coffee when I left hours before breakfast would be served.

I picked this hotel at random but will pick it again by choice. It’s a tradition Mediterranean family run hotel. You can see the pride they have in everything they do. Everything here is cleaner than a hospital. Michael, the owner is also the concierge. He directed me to PCR testing, had suggestions for bus trips, restaurants, and really anything you had a question about. There is a fabulous reception/dining area glassed in and overlooking the sea. Breakfast is served there and is quite a nice way to start the day. The restaurant is located in a quiet neighborhood next to a fine restaurant and only a short stroll to the wonderful old city center. Right off the bus line to the port and the intercity bus station. I’m taking a bus back to Larnaca for 7 euro.
The rooms have nice balconies. Pay the extra for the sea view. You won’t be disappointed

My husband and I stayed a total of 4 nights here while in Paphos. The hotel was very spacious and ultra clean. We were given a balcony room which was very lovely, and unexpected. The breakfast was a wonderful and large spread of food in a beautiful spacious room with large windows and a view of the Mediterranean. The hotel staff were very friendly and we enjoyed getting to know them. It is a family run hotel and they do a wonderful job! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel. It was also in a good location near the city center with easy access to restaurants and bus transportation.

This family hotel is a value for money option in the heart of Paphos.
Friendly people and excellent renovated rooms with the most comfortable beds ever! Even better than 5 star hotels have.
Great amenities with a great shower!
The location is the biggest advantage. Right in Paphos square with no need for taking the car.
A brand new parking in hotel makes things very easy as in the area you cannot find a descent parking.
What you pay is what you get and even more!

Situated about 4 Km away on a hilly top from the noisy touristic sea-centre, this hotel is near the adminstrative centrea fantastic 3 generation-family-run dwelling, with all the modern facilities and amenities. Tatefully designed and furnished compact rooms withall the comforts, and the lovely viewfrom the balcony. The personal family service provided at the reception and at the breakfast adds to the humane aspect of tourism. It was a real pleasure to stay there two wonderful days, and hope to come again. Highly recommended. And by the way, the hotel provides free parking in it s own premises.

Hello Julie, we have available hairdryers on request at the reception (free of charge). Thank you.
Hello there! The stairs that some people mention in their review comments are not the only access to the hotel. We also have access to the hotel building from the same level as the city road leading to our neighborhood. The hotel is also equipped with a lift.
Hello there and thank you for your message. Indeed there are currently some road works taking place in the centre of Paphos. These works are Phase A of the general city "facelift" plans, and Phase A is due to finish by the end of July. Phase B will then start and will be due to finish end of December 2016. Nearest current work is at 250 metres from our hotel. Future road works will also at about 250-350 metres away from our premises, the nearest. At all cases, access to our hotel by car and on foot are secured and open. There were no complaints by any guests concerning noicence or any other because of these road works.
Hello there. Unfortunately we do not have a pool. Our hotel is only 3,5 km away from Kefalos Hotel. It's a 5-7 minute drive or a 20-25 minute walk. There is also public transport by buses. Our hotel is located on the borderline of the general area of town centre and is considered a very safe area.
