We’ve just returned from an amazing stay at the Olympians villas, staying in the 2 bed villa Hera. The villa itself was spotless and the gardens and grounds were incredibly well looked after. The villa had everything you need for self catering and all the equipment looked new. The villa complex is only a few steps away from a beautiful quiet beach and you only have to walk a few minutes in either direction for a beach with sun beds and amenities. The complex is in a prime location with Latchi @ 15 mins stroll in one direction and Polis roughly the same distance in the other direction. You can also grab a snack or cocktail at the campsite restaurant on the beach about a 5 minute stroll away! Already looking forward to our next visit to this amazing place!

We live on the island and wanted a post lockdown break away to explore Latchi and a Polis with a pool and somewhere we could take our dog. These villas delivered all we asked for in spades. The check in instructions were emailed the day before with detail of the villa we had been allocated and we found the villas which were off the beaten track on a lovely location right by the sea. We had booked a 2 bed villa, it was cool and surprisingly spacious inside, the upstairs bathrooms were a little pokey but the bedrooms and balconies and upstairs terrace were large. The walled garden was a good size, well maintained and the pool although not huge was ample for our two kiddies and dog. The villas do overlook each other gardens which may pose a problem for some, we didn’t find it a bother. The kitchen offered adequate white goods and facilities to allow us to cook and live for 5 days and the bbq outside was great! There is a/c in the bedrooms, the showers are power showers, the plugs are English 3pin and they supply your bath and hand towels and dishcloths. The floors are flagstone so nice and cool. They supply you with WiFi. The only issue we had was the sofa inside was in fact rattan garden furniture and the small tv had no English channels! Not much of an issue as we did not sit inside much. There is plenty to do in and around Latchi and Polis - we will certainly return and will absolutely consider these villas again next time.

Unfortunately we chose one of these beachside villas for our holiday in late October. You will see from my reviews that we have frequented places around the world from Raffles in Singapore to Reykjavik in Iceland & from the Savoy in London to the Serengetti. I have to say we had more comfortable nights sleeping in tents in the Serengeti. The mattresses in both the bedrooms of our two bed villa were past reproach. If it hadn’t been for two doubled over blankets & no less than three duvets on top of what passed for mattresses on either of the beds we could not have stayed without incurring serious bills with a physiotherapist upon our return. My husband is still suffering a month later, so perhaps we should have gone with our gut feeling & left for a hotel after all. The website offers a ‘welcome pack’ upon arrival. Don’t bother - the ingredients are so cheap you wouldn’t want them anyway. Far better to stop at the Papantoniou supermarket in Polis enroute where they even have a Sainsbury’s section! Latchi & Polis are a delight with some wonderful restaurants to be found. However, back to our villa: the private pool was not cleaned once during our two week stay (apart from the surface filter) so after a storm it was full of detritus, dead worms & bird faeces from the many birds using it to drink from. We noticed that almost all the pools on the complex of 10 were almost constantly in shade - whilst this may be a good thing in 40 degree heat, in October it meant that the pool was so cold we couldn’t use it anyway. The showers & bath had black mould & obviously had not been cleaned in weeks (if not months). The grass wasn’t cut once during our two week stay so was over a foot long up the garden walls by the time we left. I mentioned that we experienced a severe storm during our stay. Whilst this is unusual I am sure, you do not expect to be rained on whilst in bed. The rain, apart from coming in the windows & balcony doors, running down the corridor & down the stairs in rivulets was blown up under the roof tiles & dripped in on us whilst we lay in bed (on top of our 5 additional layers). We have informed the owners of these shortcomings, they were not even gracious enough to apologise.

Response from Maria G, Manager at The Olympians Latchi Beach Villas
Responded Nov 17, 2019
Dear enileuqcaJ P Thank you for staying with us at the Olympian Beach Villas on your recent trip to Cyprus and for posting your feedback. We were very disappointed with the content of your review. We certainly don't recall you coming to us at any point of your stay with any complaints. Problems can always be rectified if they are brought to our attention at the time they occur and not when having departed the establishment and then post on TripAdvisor. We were very offended when you criticized our welcome pack as “cheap”, especially since it was offered with OUR COMPLIMENTS and consisted of a bottle of wine, mineral water, a loaf of white bread, 1 litre of fresh milk, butter, a large jar of jam (not the individual portions usually found in hotels) a packet of salted peanuts, a packet of OREO biscuits, coffee, tea bags and sugar sachets. Let me take a minute and explain to everyone that this was offered as a welcome pack, to cover your first needs, until you paid a visit to the supermarket. Below everyone can see your exact words that you sent to us after you had departed, so that they can make their own conclusions… "𝘜𝘱𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘭 𝘎𝘢𝘣𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘭𝘦𝘧𝘵 𝘶𝘴 𝘢 '𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘬' 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘧: 1𝘭𝘵𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳, 1/2 𝘭𝘵𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘬, 𝘢 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘦 (𝘰𝘬), 𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘢𝘧 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘱 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥, 5 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘦, 𝘢 𝘫𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘫𝘢𝘮, 𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘴, 𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘵 𝘰𝘧 6 𝘖𝘳𝘦𝘰 𝘣𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘴, 𝘢 𝘧𝘦𝘸 𝘱𝘩𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘶𝘨𝘢𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 5 𝘵𝘦𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘨𝘴, 𝘵𝘸𝘰 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘴, 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨-𝘶𝘱 𝘭𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘥, 𝘢 𝘱𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘱 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘵𝘩. We don't offer this package complimentary as standard service, we only offered it to you since you expressed an interest in an optional welcome pack and since you mentioned your wedding was taking place 2-3 days prior your arrival we offered this with our compliments. When receiving a gift, it is the thought that counts, not the value of it. We cannot please everyone’s taste I am afraid. And since you mentioned that your standards are those of the London Savoy and the Raffles in Singapore, you should not have compared us with them, since what you spent for a night’s sleep there equals to a week’s stay in a villa with private pool on the beach. The pool was cleaned on a daily basis, very early in the morning around 7.00 am, when guests are usually still resting so that they are not disturbed. We did have an unexpected storm one day which made the situation difficult but that was a one-off incident. We strongly disagree with your comment that the bathrooms were not clean and obviously had not been cleaned in weeks, if not months. Every villa is thoroughly cleaned before each arrival and sometimes, depending on the length of each guests stay, mid-week too. Just for everyone else’s info, all master bathrooms will be renovated this winter time. As far as the grass is concerned, yes around the walls only he maintenance man did not cut it during your stay as this is a very loud piece of equipment and did not want to disturb you or the neighbouring guests. But since this was such a problem for you, you should have mentioned it back then, we would have arranged it. Finally, about your comments on the mattresses, these are the ones hotels all over Cyprus use, the hotel line ones from the biggest and most well known local company.. The way everyone wants their mattress is very personal and we cannot please everyone’s taste on that. Thank God the guests who stayed in the same villa just before you, left a review here on TripAdvisor too! After all you said that you chose this villa based on reviews even before that one. They cannot all be wrong..

Villa HERMES - 2 Bed Perfect beach villas in a perfect location. Very spacious and very clean. The outdoor area is well maintained and looks stunning including in the evening when the pool lights are on etc. During our last day we noticed how much time the staff spend at the villas preparing them for the next visit including outside maintenance such as the pool area and gardening. This hard work can definitely be seen throughout the Olympians. Many villas in Cyprus are separated by just a low fence but the Olympians are separated by a brick wall giving you that extra privacy. This has been the best villa yet that we have stayed in during our time on the island. The location is stunning and just a few steps from the beach. Just a short break but we will definitely be returning in 2020 for a longer stay.

I found these villas 15 years ago and have come back here several times since, including introducing my new family to the villas this year. I really can’t say enough good things about the villas, the owners and the staff, the villas are a small complex right on a quiet beach, all designed cleverly so that no villa is directly overlooked, they are well equipped, clean and comfortable, pools are excellent and in the sun all day, again very well maintained. The owners and staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The beachside footpath to Latchi is now complete and a very pleasant stroll. Thank you again Elias, Maria and everyone else, so pleased to be back 😎
