14th visit to the pia Bella Hotel went for 16 days fantastic staff fantastic hotel was made so welcome A big thank you to velit Sarah and ismail. For there help making us so welcome. It's like being at home lots of love to all the wonderful staff from Colin and Andrea and Jamie
Its my 2nd time I have stayed at the pia bella, Myself and my dad, it was my 3rd visit to kyrenia (Girne) 1st was on a day trip from the south in 2018, and we both fell in love with the north from then on, the harbour is so relaxed except for the traffic leading to it 1st time we stayed at The Pia bella was in 2019 Both times I have found the place is very peaceful with a good family atmosphere, The staff also are extra friendly, and interaction with the guests and the banter between the guests and staff work really well Most other guests that we got to meet, have said they been coming back regular year after year so they must be doing something right and I can see why The rooms are very nice and spacious, and like other people have mentioned in their reviews are looking a bit tired and old fashioned, but I personally think that style still works, and this makes it unique Every morning and evening the manageress, manager always go round asking how we are which is also a plus, as I not been to many places that do this The only shame is prior to covid they used to do a Cypriot night and the best way to describe this is it was Awesome, can only hope this returns in the future I noticed they have expanded with another 5-story block within the grounds which maybe its start of the modernising of the hotel once this section opens I would recommend the Hotel pia bella to anyone who wants a relaxing retreat with no stress, then id say that about kyrenia and its harbour also which is only a 20 min walk away with regular Buses (dolmus) passing through And all the locals that I did meet are equally as friendly…
Good points: nice gardens and pools. Staff pleasant and friendly. Breakfast good. Room comfortable lovely powerful shower. Bad points.: was in block 3 balcony right by generator / air conditioning so noisy that I never used balcony . Also had building work noise from new block. Evening meals buffet bit uninspiring. Area hotel is located is very busy with traffic so no where nice nearby.
Well, we have stayed in this hotel twice before, once in 2003 when it was a small two & a bit star hotel doing it’s very best to keep it’s thirty or so rooms of guests well catered for. A single pool then, and the garden full of feral Cats with litters of Kittens underneath every other bush. Simple, but fine. A few years later we went and a new block had been built, and a second pool was being created. The new rooms pleasant, but the building work meant we spent our time mainly around the pool at the newly opened Palmyra Rouge. (Which we were warned was owned by “Bad People” newly returned from London). This visit we find at least another two new complexes, one fully finished, one nearly finished (but will guests in some of the still incomplete rooms- As they said “well, the rooms are unfinished, but when they are we won’t be able to afford them”.) A new Casino/Club forming part of the new complex, the scrub land in front of the hotel now a Sports Complex/Football grounds, huge amounts of new building all around, and the road onto which our block faced nose to tail traffic from 07:30 until 23:00. If you are road facing, noisy from traffic, if pool facing, then the Disco/Singing/Entertainments can be noisy in those rooms until well into the evening. We were in a newish extension facing the road to the left of the original hotel as viewed from the front. The room we had was large enough, the beds comfortable, and the air conditioning effective. Only two small drawers in the room is a little off putting, and the mini bar (never used and sparsely stocked) was a noisy addition that we could have well done without. The shower/wc room a good size, but dark despite being glass walled, and seemingly hermetically sealed with no real evidence of any active air extraction system. The cleaners were in daily, and were most thorough, asking frequently if bedding etc needed changing. Breakfast was self service, and a good choice of fruits, cereals, breads, continental buffet cheese, salads, meats etc. the hot choices were adequate, bacon & sausages of course a no no in this situation. The toast machines, two off, basically just bread warming machines. No toast worthy of that name ever came out of them. That the only drink was coffee (fairly good), water, very weak lemon water, or Turkish tea (just like normal tea as far as I could tell, but in glass rather than cup.) was a weakness. Fresh orange juice was available at a cost of Turkish Lira 35 (£1.75) per glass. The bar/café in the gardens betwixt the two pools was welcoming and well utilised. The Staff friendly, attentive and a pleasure to interact with. Try the Efes pilsner for a very adequate cooling drink, or the Turkish Coffee for a change from the normal Nescafé. We were perhaps unfortunate that during our time the electronic key systems were in some disarray, key cards just failing to work for some none apparent reason. The first evening we waited over three hours before we were able to access our rooms, and the Admin Staff were utterly overwhelmed. The next day the same thing happened, and although the Stall managed to manually open the rooms, our keycards did not work so one at least of us had to stay in our room for the evening so that they could let anybody in. Another evening of our eleven wasted. The next morning, we finally managed to get a keycard that actually worked for the rest of the holiday. The Staff did their best, but were rather overwhelmed during some of this. It appears that the original hotel, now probably four times plus it’s original bedrooms, was still trying to cope with little more than it’s original administration. Not sensible, and unfair on it’s hard working staff.…
One of the best holidays we have had in a long time, great place and the staff are amazing, Velet the night manager, Ahmed, Cat,Osman, Risshi and Veroc amazing staff and even sweetie they made you feel at home and welcomed, would recommend to anyone, can’t wait to come back next year 😊
I was put up in this hotel by the company I came over to see, very nice rooms, all fully air conditioned and beds comfy, it’s a shame I was only there for 3 nights didn’t really get to experience the facilities but they all looked excellent and clean. Maybe a little dated but certain things were being upgraded whilst I was there. Plenty of places to eat around the hotel if the food is not to your liking but honestly they would be able to cater to your needs It’s not really for young ones and caters more for the over 50’d. All in all it was a very pleasant experience
We have just returned from a 12 night stay at the Pia Bella hotel, our second holiday at this hotel. We cannot thank the staff enough (all of them). This hotel must have the best and most friendly staff in all Cyprus. Well done to you all, you are what makes this hotel special. Hopefully we will see you again next year for three weeks. John and Lesley Lunn
Although the hotel can look a little tired in places, and the housekeeping could be a lot better - the STAFF make up for any shortcomings in those areas. Rooms are comfortable with good air-con and plenty of water pressure for that all important shower. The food was plentiful and fresh. The staff go well over and above at the Pia Bella! They can't do enough to make sure your stay is perfect. (even made me a birthday cake...!! :) ) They are friendly and helpful, and will do whatever they can to make sure your stay will be the best possible. I hope to be able to visit you all again soon - thank you for a GREAT experience, and giving me an unforgettable birthday .
Everyone who’s really writing reviews is caucasian. I am horrified at the behaviour of this hotel, I was staying with my partner as we left to go for dinner reception told us they need to check our room before we head out because ‘Nigerians’ always mess up the rooms. I am African black not Nigerian that’s discrimination. Police where called because I didn’t agree with them even them they lack education by being extremely aggressive and rude to me telling me I should leave the country and they will arrest me for what just because I know my rights. I would never come back to north Cyprus they disrespect black peoples it’s disgusting. And the rooms smell. Shame on the managers for having no social skills whatsoever
This was our 4th visit to Pia Bella. Great as always, amazing customer service through out. Perfect location. I would highly recommend this place. Will definitely be back next year. Great holiday thanks Pia Bella
