This Review is only made possible because with the help of The Owners of the Ship Inn we were able to get information regarding travel to the North of Cyprus from the South by permanent residents. The lack of informatiin is stopping travel to the North and directly affecting businesses such as the Ship which had avery low occupancy. I therfore would hope that Trip Advisor allows this information as part of my review. We were therefore able to get Covid 19 tests in the South from a private Laboratory, €80 ea and passed over the border with no problem (take your residents permit) And three days before we left we took another test in the Nicosia University Hospital 200TL ea. And we returned having easier crossings over the borders than normal. The North of Cyprus is very organised for Covid 19 with every shop, facility, bar etc having all the required Sanitisers, Mask Adherence, and floor markings etc. It felt totally SAFE.. This was our 7th year staying at the Ship Inn and as usual the accomodation in a Single Room Apartment was excellent. The apartment allows you to have freedom of choice but with the connection to the hotels services, including a great breakfast buffet, pool area, and pool bar. The service from the staff as usual was friendly and very efficient. The Hotel this year has opened for the summer season a Mehane Restaurant at the front of the Hotel with wooden Cabana's to sit in for groups , and they offer a traditional Mehane (Meze) which was a variety of meat and vegetable dishes that certainly challenged our appetite (dont each lunch beforehand) and was of a very high standard. Once again a very enjoyable stay at the Ship. We have already booked for next year..…

We stayed here as part of a trip with RSD Travel and it was nice to stay in a smaller quieter hotel after being in a very large and hectic hotel near Famagusta (also good but enormous and rather hectic). We had a large and comfortable room with a lovely view of the mountains and St Hilarion castle, over gardens and orange trees. The room was fairly basic but very clean and modern with a fridge a tea miking facilities - milk provided and also an honesty bar. The hotel has links with the Royal British Legion and therefore had a pub like feel about the bar area. The food was fine - lots of choice of local foods, lovely salads. Some of the hot dishes were a bit disappointing but there was a lot to choose from. Staff were great and very nice and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would go again.…
This was our second hotel on a tour of Northern Cyprus and I have to say it was a very pleasant surprise. It's a relatively small, family run hotel but has all the facilities most would need. It has varied accommodation and we were very pleased to be allocated a poolside place which comprised a ground floor open plan living/dining/kitchen area plus a toilet. In addition, we had stairs up to two bedrooms and a bathroom. Not bad for just two of us! The location is quite central with the frequent Dolmus to take you into the town centre (cheaply) and a large supermarket less than ten minutes walk away. The staff from the reception through to the waiters were very pleasant and helpful. The quality of the food, although nothing special, was of good quality and varied. We were amazed at the local shopping costs which averaged around 25% less than the UK!…
