With the price we paid that's what we got. It's a nightmare finding the venue as Kyrenia has up one steet and down the other but once we found it and with a satnav we got there ha ha. The room is basic but good position for to enjoy the area

Where do I start? Reception manned by a young man with no social skills Although claiming to take card payments on various hotel booking sites, they do not have the facilities to do so, and ask for cash payment upfront. Room in need of a complete makeover, decoration old and tired, electric plug sockets hanging out of wall Parking facilities... what parking facilities? No kettle in room, although on arrival there was two small bottles of water and two tea bags! Towels enough for one person, room was booked for two! No Hot water in shower! WiFi... what WiFi? Satalite TV not working Stayed three nights, the room was not cleaned once nor the bins emptied during this time! On a positive note the best thing about this hotel is the location. With a bit of refurbishment and better management this little hotel could be a delight, sadly at present this is not the case.

On arrival we were told where to park. We guaranteed by credit card but HAD to pay cash. On return from dinner we found the night staff trying to break into our car and when questioned by us, told the car was illegally parked and we HAD to move it now. Stated we had a few drinks with dinner and would under no circumstances drink and drive. Spoke to the manager on check out to be told forget it and we did you a favour by stopping the police from towing your car.

We had a double room here which, although basic, was more than sufficient for our needs as we were only here for a one night stopover. The room was spacious and clean but there was limited desk/table space to put our belongings. The double bed was clean and comfortable. There was a fridge, aircon (presume it worked but didn’t use it), kettle, cups, teabags and two free bottles of water. The wifi worked well. The bathroom was quite cramped and the shower tiny, but it was clean and there was plenty of hot water. There was a faint smell of smoke in the room (the hotel is not non-smoking). The lighting in the room was very poor, there were no bedside lights or switches for the main lights near the bed. Our room was on the ground floor and there was a gathering of noisy young people literally right outside our window - thankfully they went about 1am, after that it was silent all night and we could get some sleep. We didn’t have breakfast as we left the hotel early in order look round the town and harbour before continuing our journey. The hotel is in a lovely old building and the location is excellent - it is just behind the harbour right in the middle of the quaint old town and only a couple of minutes walk from the harbour itself where you can find plenty of shops and restaurants. It would be a very good base to explore Kyrenia as everything is within walking distance. It is quite easy to find (as long as you have a good map) but take care as there are a lot of one way streets and they are all quite narrow with tight turns. Both the staff members we met were very friendly and helpful. Top marks especially to the man on reception in the evening on 22nd December. He had limited English but was so friendly and we managed to communicate fine. Despite requesting a parking space, and having confirmation that one had been reserved for us, when we arrived we were told that parking spaces were on a “first come first served” basis and there were none left. However, the lovely man at check-in went out of his way to help us and showed us a private space where we could park - he then kept an eye on our car on CCTV and moved it first thing in the morning as soon as there was a space free outside the hotel. He gave us directions to a late night supermarket and hunted down a hairdryer for us as there wasn’t one in the room - great service :-)
