This was a good choice hotel for us on our budget, but there are certainly some cons. The rooms are VERY small, which made it had to navigate at times, especially with the weird bathroom shape. Nice to have air-con, although we found it smelt really bad! We also found the street a little scary as two female travelers, mainly if you exit the hotel to the right. Having said this, there are certainly some nice shops and restaurants around, and it was very convenient for the train station. If a little loud at times. The lobby is okay with a cute courtyard out back. The staff were friendly, breakfast had lots of good options, the free water on arrival was a small gesture in the grand scheme of things, but certainly appreciated given we arrived quite late. We were also told about transport being free across the whole of Lux which was a very useful tip :) On the whole, glad we chose it, but not to say we 100% enjoyed. Plus, I write this having stayed at a 'regular' brand Ibis in Gent, in the same week, which was much better!…
Yes the rooms are small and yes the bathrooms are tiny BUT we were so glad we picked this hotel. Its new and clean, the staff are friendly, the breakfast buffet is good and the location is not bad. Our room was at the front on the 4th floor - there is some noise but the windows are pretty good. The room is compact but has everything you need in there - shampoo, shower gel, towels (changed daily) hangers, hairdryer, TV. We loved the free tea and coffee available throughout the day and night, free WiFi and the funky courtyard garden. My friend, who is gluten free found plenty of things to eat at the European cold buffet breakfast.
Close to train station. Had what I needed. TV channels not great. Would have liked CNN or an English news channel. Only major complaint is that the large bed was positioned so close to the wall it was impossible to get my suitcase to the other side without lifting it over, which would have been difficult post-surgery. Staff was friendly and helpful. For one night, fine!
Location is good, 200 m across from the Luxembourg central train station. Room is very basic but decent. Facilities clean and very basic. Breakfast is very basic. Good if you don’t want anything fancy and costly.
If you are on a budget or traveling like I was. This hotel was great. Luxembourg can be really expensive, and this was the cheapest option. The hotel was a little older than I expected, and work was being done. All staff were friendly, the rooms were tiny but did a good job and the hotel grounds were very quiet. The hotel is very close to the train station for convenience.
very good hotel with a good price in the center of the city, clean, good breackfast very friendly staff and very good location,it s near the station and near the bus station to the center the rooms vere little but very clean and the toilette was inside.
This hotel was very well located in a quiet street not that far from Luxembourg railway station where you also find all the buses and trams. The room was ok but maybe the bathroom was the smallest i have ever seen, that was cramped. The bed was good to sleep in.
The staff were all very nice. Hotel is very clean and centrally located. Very close the train station and bus stops in Luxembourg City, a little bit of a walk from Ville Haute but definitely walk-able. Breakfast was ample, with plenty of choices. Individually packaged items as well. Breakfast space and tables was cleaned quickly after a patron had left. Hand sanitizer was readily available, you can see all efforts are in place to help with dealing with the pandemic. Staff on the front desk were very helpful, kind and respectful.
Because of Covid there was no normal breakfast buffet. Instead of that you have to fill in a form to select the breakfast items you prefer. But the breakfast items (quality and quantity ) you could select was completely not conform the IBIS standard. Ham, salami, eggs where for exemple not available. You could for exemple get only 3 pre-pack mini-viennoiserie (mini-croissant, mini-pain au chocolat, mini-pain au raisin). An additional mini-croissant was refused by staff. Staff apologizes for this horrible IBIS-Covid-breakfast and told me that this Covid-breakfast was an idea of the hotel manager. Staff told me also that the Luxembourg-law allows a normal breakfast buffet but that the hotel manager has maintained his own ideas on breakfast during Covid. This IBIS-Covid-breakfast was in any kind not worth 10 Euros. Tip: The hotel is located 100 meter from Luxembourg central station, where you can get a much better breakfast for the same price at the different food-shops in the station. …
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic we are unable to travel to Luxembourg in May. I contacted the property to ask politely for a refund and they refused, even in this global crisis they are still reluctant to provide refunds when customers aren't able to stay due to GOVERNMENT RESTRICTIONS. I am having to go further to get my money back. The customer services guy I spoke to was rude and tried to justify their position when really, they should be honouring refunds. I now wouldn't want to ever stay here.
