First, the not-so-good. There was one staff member at the front desk who was less-than-friendly. There is no shower curtain, which renders it impossible to keep the bathroom floor dry. The toilet bowl is very low. There are lots of wasps near the breakfast area. The pillow was super flat. What I loved: the location - super close to downtown Luxembourg City. The breakfast offered a good variety of fresh and local foods (I did not pay separately for breakfast). The rooms were spacious with lots of electric/USB sockets. There was an air conditioner in the room. The bathroom was spotless and well-lit. Beds were comfortable. I did not hear from anyone else within the hotel, although I stayed at the hotel in August during peak season. The rooms were very clean. Breakfast was at a place with spectacular view.

The room itself is fine, upon request we received a kettle. A fridge would have been nice though. The reception serves two hotels and the reception staff does not correct the traveller when one heads for the elevator by mistake. No, the rooms of this hotel are in fact outside and away from the building where the reception is located. Better signage would be welcome. The hotel is a short walk away from the Adolphe bridge, in other words close to downtown.

The room was almost normal, the strange thing is that the shower room does not have a door (at least the bathroom did :D ). We were also told that we had to pay the cost of breakfast in advance, which would eventually be refunded if we didn't eat. At least they offer a bottle of water (for two people). For that price, even being in Luxembourg, I would have expected something more.

I was booked here when in Luxembourg. The "hotel" is a series of 1960s or 1970s buildings that aren't connected to each other and appear to have been apartments, a hostel or some sort of dormitory at one point. You arrive at a very confusing entrance that looks low budget and not exactly upscale. The entrance off the main street through a parking lot and then a meandering driveway to another parking lot is confusing and not a good first impression. The whole area is overgrown and not well-maintained. What appears to be one hotel is actually two hotels. One advertised as an economy hotel and other as a 4-star business hotel. It is hardly 4 stars. As I said, the buildings aren't connected, which is not a 4-star standard. It's also a horrible setup if you have luggage or there is bad weather. There is no bellman or any staff to assist. My first room was small and recently renovated with furniture that looked like it was out of Ikea. The bathroom was filthy with pubic hair all over the toilet. The second room had similar pubic hair on the toilet and black mold or mildew in the shower. For the third room I was "upgraded" to a suite. Except they didn't open the suite up to its other two rooms. So I had a bedroom and bathroom. The suite was on the ground floor and faced the parking lot. There was no privacy. One of the windows didn't even have privacy curtains, only a transparent window shear. That allowed people to see into the room. The suite is advertised as a king bed. In actuality, it's two twin beds pushed together without being affixed to each other. While I was sleeping at night they started to separate with a noticeable gap between the two. The bathroom of the suite had a huge walk-in shower, which was nice. But the sink was broken and leaking water all over the floor. The bathroom had 2 bars of soap, 1 mini bottle of shampoo, and 1 mini bottle of body wash. No lotion, no conditioner, no dental kit, no shoe mint. Outside of a free bottle of water, there were no amenities in the rooms. Likewise, no hotel directory or any information. No clock. No USB outlets to charge devices. No refrigerator. No coffeemaker or tea kettle. If you want coffee or tea you have to go outside and walk 100-150 meters to the restaurant at breakfast. Supposedly, there is room service but I saw no evidence of it. No newspapers. All three rooms look like they were renovated in the last year or two. But it was done on the cheap and judging by the same housekeeping issues and the mold/mildew, the rooms aren't being maintained or properly cleaned. Self-parking is an expensive 25 euros per night. There are no where near enough spaces. Wifi is free and fast. Unless you're on a very limited budget, don't stay here. It's one of those hotels that seems mostly used by tour groups. I have stayed at roadside Travelodge or Ibis hotels that were nicer, cleaner, and a better value for money.

Stayed here for a night, not for the first time. Its a plain and simple business hotel with all the facilities you need and its well looked after by the staff. The breakfast is good, well laid out, plenty to eat with lots of variety and the staff do a good job dealing with a rush crowd of people checking out..The hotel staff were very kind to me individually doing the best they could to cope with several early arrivals. Nice view over the river valley from the grounds.

Even though the room was paid for by my company, I was not allowed into the room until I paid for it myself. It's policy that the you have to produce the card that paid the hotel on check in. As it was paid on the company card that's back in London. It leaves you feeling like your being blackmailed to get your room that was already paid for two weeks ago. Staff were completely unhelpful and not very friendly on arrival. The rooms are dated and showing there age. As the first person from my company to use this hotel, I can say with confidence, that I will not be recommending it for future use. We have an office here in Luxembourg, that staff are constantly travelling to. We will be going back to using the original hotel again.

Response from Goereshotels, Public Relations Manager at Hotel Parc Belle-Vue
Responded Sep 3, 2019
Hello, Thank you for your comment. We are really sorry for the inconvenience during your stay. However know that our receptionists have a special procedure that they have to follow which is to receive the same credit card for the check-in that the one used for the booking. It's indeed a procedure to avoid fraud. They have to apply this for every client and it was not an accusation against you. It's why there is a warning message on booking.com when you book a room, to be sure to avoid this kind of situation. Again we are sorry for this unpleasantness. We hope to have the chance to welcome you again with a better experience. Know that you (or your company in this case) can book a room directly with our reservation department at reservation@goereshotels.com so they can send you a debit authorization form and therefore we don't need the credit card at the check-in. Best, Valérie Saggese - Marketing & Communication Manager

Location - Before you consider the location consider that any hotel “within the city” is within walking distance of the main attractions. Luxembourg is a walking city and you can access everything in a day or two just by walking. If I had known this I would have paid a little more for something a little nicer. Facilities - €20 for breakfast is too expensive in our opinion. We walked into town to buy a big yummy breakfast for less than half the price. Parking for guests is also expensive considering the expensive rooms. When we asked about the “pool and spa” and “roof terrace” mentioned on the website the staff said they didnt know what we were talking about. Hair dryer and tv were good. The air vent in the bathroom was broken so no ventilation in there. Toiletries and room service - No toothpaste or hair conditioner, but soap and shower gel are provided. One bottle of water was put in the rolm on the hottest day of the year which was sort of a nice gesture but also half hearted with two people staying in the room. We asked if we could have a fan in the room and the staff didn’t have any to offer leading to a terrible nights sleep without AC in 36 degree heat and only one window that could fully open. Twin Beds - soft mattresses and super soft pillows. Very narrow single beds put together as a double (something I never quite understand, if you want a double bed wouldnt you book one and not a twin?). Not a huge issue though as we just pulled the beds away from eachother to other ends of the room. Comfy chair and nice desk in the room. Dated curtains that wouldnt open fully. The decor was minimal and nothing to complain about if not a little random. Cleaning - when you pay for a hotel you at least expect the cobwebs to be dusted away. The beds and bathroom were very clean but not the cobwebs on the ceiling. Extras - for the price of the room we expected tea or coffee facilities for free either in the reception or the bedroom but you have to pay to get this each time in the reception. Staff - friendly and helpful with getting around and booking a taxi. View - the hotel claims good views but only if you have a rear facing room on the top 2 floors. Restaurant - nice but expensive. Overall I would favour a hostel as I believe the value for money would be better than this hotel. No effort has been made to go the extra for customers. Claims such as “soundproof rooms” should be made when you can hear the next rooms conversation. Lower your prices and be more honest with your customers.

Stayed for two nights on business. Upgraded to a suite which was very nice and spacious, good facilties in the room(s). Bed was very comfortable. My room was quiet and the hotel is within walking distance of the city centre. Couple of observations there is one reception for both hotels, the other being the Parc Plaza, so this can be confusing. There is no lounge area but there are a few seats and tables which could be made be a little more welcoming ie soft chairs. Breakfast is in a separate building and you can also have a meal in there, I don't think it is owned by the hotel and someone asked to add it to their room bill which did cause some confusion. If you take your car you will have to pay for parking which is not cheap, and a bit cheeky if you're staying there. The staff were very friendly and helpful, I would stay there again if I was on business, but for a weekend break might look somewhere else.
