The hotel seems new, and has quite nice rooms. There are significant issues with the breakfast buffet, though. For starters, the room where it is served is way too small for a hotel this size. We arrived a bit after 9am and were told the breakfast room was full, so we decided to come back later. When we returned at 9.45, a long queue had formed in the small, poorly ventilated area outside the breakfast hall. Since we did not want to spend all day waiting, we went to the reception to ask if we could get a refund for the breakfast. The receptionist Julien spent no effort whatsoever to accommodate our request. He said this could only be decided by a manager, and that noone was available on Sunday. He blamed corona for the delays. We had been in quite a few hotels in Luxembourg the week before, and never experienced these kind of delays. In the end, we waited another half hour to finally access the buffet room. There it became clear the origin for the delays was the combination of a lack of staff and a tiny room. Corona measures were minimal: everyone just got a pair of gloves. Seating distance was way too close and the room was busy and poorly ventilated. Some guests were moving around without masks without any remarks from the staff. Of all the hotels we visited during our holidays, this was the only one where we did not feel secure. When we left the breakfast room at 10.55, people were still waiting outside. Oh, and the buffet itself was very mediocre: no scrambeled eggs or bacon, limited selection of bread and spreads.…
Ideal hotel for any business trip or holiday in Luxembourg. Friendly staff, clean and well-designed rooms, efficient services, convenient location in a nice neighbourhood, next to public transport and 10 min away from the centre, cosy lobby to work, meet and relax.
We tried out the new Mercure Hotel for a weekend and we where really happy with staff, design and neighborhood. Brand new Hotel we had a fair deal on the price. Bus stop in front of the Hotel easy to get anywhere from here. We also had a great experience next door in a cozy restaurant/Bar with some great food and live music. All in all nice weekend experience also very close to airport and city center. Good job
Brand new. Modern. Loved the room layout. Staff was super friendly. Quiet neighborhood. Only a handful of restaurants nearby, but they were good. Bus line right in front of hotel, or a steep 20 minute walk to the light rail.
Really nice, tasteful modern decor. Lots of power points in the room, which I love! TV is easy to use and has lots of channel choices. Location is not in the centre of town - it's a 30+ minute walk to get into the city centre, but there's public transport close by. Staff were fantastic - very nice to talk to, proactive in giving advice, and even helped me out by sending my headphones back to Australia which I accidentally left in the room. Thanks guys!
