Everything you can imagine from booking, airport pick up exceeded expectations. Breakfast terrace with views of grand harbour and excellent selection. Everyone was helpful and friendly, the roof terrace was a lovely space to enjoy views at the end of the day.
From the initial booking I found Team Ursulino helpful and welcoming. They organised my airports transfers for which communication was rapid and clear. Check-in was great, the attendant asked if I'd had a long journey, since I didn't they asked if I'd like a map and site-seeing tips. They then proceeded to explain all of the sites, which I found really useful. Throughout my stay I noticed that they treated all of the guests with equal care. As a female travelling solo I felt safe and secure at Ursulino. I was in Room 4, a superior double on the first floor. The room was spacious and well decorated with a small enclosed balcony. Despite being roadside I didn't have any problem with noise (I stayed mid-week, Wed and Thurs). As well as tea/coffee/water there was also a bowl of fruit which was a nice additional touch. I have to mention the slippers which were super comfy and of superior quality to those in many 5* hotels. The breakfast (included in the room rate) was ample: eggs could be made to order with a good range of cheeses, cold cuts and salads. There's a lovely rooftop terrace with good views, unfortunately during my trip it was too blustery to spend too long there. The hotel's location is great, quiet but with easy access to many sites. Checkout was also smooth, I wanted to go for a final walk around Valletta, the attendant took my bag and told me to go for a wander and that they'd get my bill ready in the meantime. True to their word my bill and the transfer were both ready at the designated time. Their parting words were: "Are you sure you want to leave?" well I wished I'd stayed and not bothered with the next property (Marriott St Julian) but that's another story.…
We have just returned from an excellent weeks stay in the Triplex penthouse. The warm welcome was reciprocated throughout our stay with every member of staff being cheery and very efficient such as when we messed up the safe (twice,we gave up on the third attempt!!!!!!!!!) plus ordering taxis. The penthouse is WOW - Everything you need, bottles of water everyday, good selection of teas and coffee, high quality toiletries, hair dryer, super comfortable bed, lovely bedding, the kitchen/dining area was very well equipped (even a dishwasher but we ate out every day) and the icing on the cake is the lounge/upper level area leading onto the spacious terrace with breath taking views over the Grand Harbour. We were lucky enough to coincide with the Pope's visit and the image of the nuns in front of our balcony waving their flags was memorable!. Breakfasts were super - friendly staff, a fabulous choice of fresh fruits, danish pastries, breads, meats, cheeses, yoghurts, eggs cooked to order and FRESH orange juice. The terrace to eat breakfast has fabulous views and there is also a nice indoor area if you go out of season. The hotel is perfectly located just a few minutes from Valletta centre, the ferries and numerous restaurants but in a very quiet road. We had an amazing stay and will definitely return. Thankyou for everything, Dave and Debbie Green xx…
We are delighted that we chose to stay in this wonderful Boutique Hotel - from the first time we contacted them we knew we were dealing with people who genuinely care about their guests and that feeling continued throughout our week stay. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff are exceptional. Their friendliness and professionalism do them credit. The rooms are beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. Fresh water, teas and proper coffee are replenished every day. A Bose Bluetooth stereo speaker for connection to our own music was an added bonus. WiFi was excellent and a ‘connected’ Wi-Fi printer was a great boom to enabling the printing of pesky Passenger Locator Forms/Flight Passes without troubling anyone The Hotel could not be better located - in a quiet street but a very short walk from everything The breakfast is fantastic- the choice extensive and special mention should be made of the fresh preparation of eggs in every combination Delightful in every sense - we will return…
I had to travel to Malta for a meeting, but most of my time was spent exploring and enjoying the island. This hotel seemed very convenient for the restaurants and sights of Valletta. From the moment of my booking this hotel stood out. In place of the typical email confirming my reservation, I received a warm welcoming message. On arrival, the attitude of the staff was the same. They were hugely helpful and that remained the case throughout my stay. My room was beautifully fitted out and decorated, the bed was comfortable and the shower room was bright and spotless. I would absolutely recommend it.
This is a boutique hotel and is not staffed in the evening - however on the one occasion we needed help after hours, the number we rang was answered immediately and our problem resolved. The hotel is excellently positioned with everything in Valletta within easy walking distance. An excellent restaurant - Beati Paoli - is in a parallel street. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Our room (no 11) was spacious and comfortable with our own private terrace with views over the harbour; we also had a small kitchen and eating area. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.
After 2 nights at St Julian's, we decided to move to Valletta, so that it is easier for us to explore this beautiful part of the island. We chose to stay at this delightful B&B, and were really satisfied with our stay. We were able to park temporarily at the front of the hotel whilst we unloaded our luggage, before following the instructions of the hotel on where to park our car. We were lucky to have found free spaces not far from the hotel for this, and kept our car there for the entire 2 nights. Check-in was very quick, and our room was sufficient for our need. Breakfast on the rooftop every morning was the best part of our stay. The view was just fantastic, and the staff who served us were always so friendly and polite. The best thing about this B&B (besides everything else) is the location. You couldn't be more central to Valletta. We walked everywhere around the city, and covered all the highlights in our 2 days there. A really fantastic stay, and an amazing way to end our trip to Malta! highly recommended.…
This is a small boutique hotel of the highest standard, in close proximity to the main attractions of Valletta. The rooms are modern and have every amenity to make your stay enjoyable. Breakfast is superb in terms of the variety and quality of food available ( they provided me with three different types of gluten free bread!!) and the service is first class. The staff are friendly, efficient and extremely helpful. You are provided with Moulton and Brown toiletries, a DeLongi coffee machine and capsules plus three different types of tea. Each room has ample storage/hanging space plus a secure safe. The ground floor room has a small outside sitting area which is delightful and would be a great asset in summer, as would the roof top terrace which has seating and loungers. All in all, this is a first class establishment that I would recommend to travellers from all around the world.…
Can't say enough good things about the Ursulino Valletta! Ideally located, awesome staff, great room and the view of the harbor was amazing. Eggs to order at the breakfast buffet, plus fresh hot bread and muffins along with the usual European selections of meat and cheeses.
We stayed two nights at the Ursulino Valletta and I would have been happy to stay even longer. What really set this hotel apart for us was the outstanding service we received when our luggage did not arrive with us. The staff made excellent recommendations on where we could buy necessities from toiletries to clothes, and also made sure we found wonderful places to dine nearby so that our trip wasn't ruined. I cannot say enough about their friendliness and helpfulness. In addition the room was perfect for a short stay; the bed was comfortable, the towels and toiletries luxurious. The location on a quiet street just blocks from busier areas allowed both restful sleep and access to all that Valletta has to offer. It was so nice to arrive late at night to find our keys waiting for us along with a nice bottle of wine that we enjoyed while we watched the fireworks of Independence Day on the upper terrace. Indeed, the terrace is a wonderful place to hang out in the evenings, watching the Grand Harbor while enjoying a glass of wine. Another nice element was the included breakfast with a wide variety of choices and some finely made omelets along with some superb coffee. If I find myself in Malta again, I will absolutely prioritize staying at the Ursulino Valletta.…
