This is advertised a 5 star hotel but it is far from that. The hotel looks grand as you enter but they are stuck in their ways and it needs alot of upkeeping. The reception staff are friendly enough to say hello as you enter the hotel but that is about it. Considering the hotel was dead the whole time we were there, we expected better customer service. When going down to the restaurant, the staff were more interested in their phones than looking after the guests. The breakfast was less than apertising. We eneded up buying in marmite because we were fed up with the tasteless food. We used the indoor and outdoor pool both were not cleaned the whole time we were there to the point where there was rubbish on one of the pillars on the inside pool for four days in a row! The air con didn't work in the room or in gym and so using the treadmill was impossible. Even after complaining about this to the spa reception I was told I had to report it to the main reception! I did but nothing changed. We ended up keeping our door open to get some air at night as we had the maintenance man in our room twice trying to sort it out. I was covered in bits because the air con didn't work. The bathroom door handle came off in my fiances hand twice. The room wasn't clean when we asked them to make up our room. The mirror hadn't even been touched. Their moto is: Live the grand life. But as far as we are concerned the hotel needs grands spent on it.

Went for dinner for a newly launched menu. The food was excellent same in presentation and taste and worth every money E25. Very safe environment . Staff very professional and very aware of the present situation from the minute you enter the foyer. Would go again for lunch next time. Thanks every one. Had a very lovely and relaxing evening.

We have stayed here a few times before: rooms are spacious (they're right, furniture a bit battered ), service friendly & attentive. We were upgraded to a room with view over the sea - preferable to last time's view over the buses in the forecourt. Good for the night before an early 'plane, particularly now : a deathly corona hush everywhere. I gathered that only 50 or so of the 540 rooms were occupied. Some lapses :heath & safety in the cocktail bar. " May I please have some peanuts with that margarita ? " " No, sorry... " You mean there's nothing to eat ? " No, it's the virus " Where are those sealed packets of nuts beloved of airlines ? Our waiter did unbend so far as to visit the kitchen & procure a bowl of peanuts. That is customer service. Later on as I cannot bear duvets, I thought I would ask for a blanket. The phone was dead. Entirely. Probably the up-to-the minute reaction is to seize your smartphone & ring the hotel with it, but I didn't think of that. No-one seemed concerned when I descended in pyjamas to Reception to draw attention to the moribund amenity. A technician appeared very quickly but we had to suggest that the most efficient solution would be to transfer a 'phone from an empty room ( of which we knew there were many ). Which he did. Too many comments about the horrible coffee at breakfast to make another one. But overall, this is a pleasant place, the staff try hard & it is good value for money, but it does need a facelift.

We booked this trip before the covid pandemic on a booking website which at the time was non refundable. We were forced to accept a credit note at the time. Now we are within our rights to claim a refund as we couldn't travel at the time they are refusing to refund us. I wouldn't book anything here in these uncertain times

Generally speaking, the property remains opulent, is impeccably clean and lavish but somehow, the need to bring it into the new era is felt. Typical examples include lack of socket outlets available by the bed, pillows that are completely flat, a mattress that has an element of wear and upholstery that has seen better days. The buffet restaurant has also aged, with the buffet in itself, needing a good revamp. All in all however, the pool area and indoor pool remain beautiful and so does the surroundings' landscaping. Service wise, all remains spot on, yet in the breakfast room, one expects a warm welcome and not a gloomy Restaurant Manager, telling off his Team Member, offering no warm good morning or similar to his guests. These testing times are surely challenging for all but yet, small things such as sparkling water available at breakfast or simply a cappuccino, rather than the plain black coffee served from a pot, will make a huge difference. The location on the otherhand remains unbeatable, a reason in itself that makes us return in the future. For the price paid at this time of the year, the property does indeed offer value and remains a sound option for an enjoyable escape.
