Detailed Reviews
This is a beautiful building and a perfect location, with lovely rooms. You can walk to everything. They have gone to a lot of trouble to think of every detail. From a decent size trashcan and extra luggage racks, to ensuring the lamp switches are visible on the cord, the beds and linens were very comfortable.
They also run a café in front of the hotel. Which is lovely, and keeps them quite busy, but if you have a problem, you know where to find them :-) it is true that there is music Friday and Saturday night, and it is loud if you are in the front of the building. But it stops at 11, and frankly we enjoyed the music. The night we were there, it was mostly “rat pack”… Sinatra et cetera.
They do not have a guest laundry, but on the next street there is a small laundromat. To wash and dry a load of laundry costs about €10.
Don’t miss the Hypogeum or the Tarxien temples!

We stayed for two nights to explore Valletta and the area around. Casa Asti is a recently fully refurbished, family- run hotel with a very warm welcoming and personal touch. The room and the bed were very comfortable. In particular, the room was very quiet at night, but still in short walking distance to the busy city centre. There are little live music events on the weekend and a coffee Bar downstairs and local antipasti are served in the evening.

Although this is a spotlessly clean hotel with a lot of character, it isn’t for everyone. Reception is not manned and you are sent a code for entry to the hotel and your room. Once inside, there is no lift and it was about 60 steps to my room on the fourth floor - there is no one to help with luggage. The room was nice but no en suite bathroom. You do get a dedicated bathroom with key but no shelf or cupboard for toiletries
I realised the bathroom situation after I had booked and tried to cancel but found that they take 100% of booking cost if you cancel LESS THAN 6 WEEKS before arrival!
I didn’t know I was on the 4th floor until a few days before arrival
Having said this, the staff in the next door bistro were amazing and extremely helpful
Other reviews say how fantastic the place is but I would not recommend it
It’s definitely not somewhere to stay unless you are fit and have no mobility issues

I booked a family room (2 adults, 2 children) for one night in October. I chose Casa Asti due to its convenient location in Valletta but loud music from the hotel bar made sleep impossible.
When booking, and again on arrival, I explained that we had a very early start the next morning. All communication at this point was pleasant, friendly and helpful.
The room itself was clean, apart from an unpleasant smell in the bathroom (drains?). However, at 8pm, live music started playing in the hotel bar immediately outside our room and was very loud - the equivalent to playing music at a normal volume inside the room. There was no prospect of the children sleeping so, at 9.30pm, I went down to the bar to seek help.
The owner was totally disinterested and simply said the music would finish at 11pm. I asked if there were any spare rooms, and he said no. When I pointed out that we had booked a family room and repeatedly highlighted that we had a very early start, he shrugged his shoulders and dismissed me, saying that the website mentioned that there was a hotel bar and I should therefore have expected loud music. It was too late by then to move my family so we simply had to wait for the music to stop.
The music stopped at 11.15pm, but it made our early start all the more difficult. If I'd been aware of the situation before booking, I would have found somewhere else - hence this review.

We stayed at this lovely guesthouse for four nights in March 2022. It’s tucked away down a little pedestrian side street so it’s lovely and quiet but is in a great location just one block off the Valetta harbour front and about 100m from the main shopping area. Loads of great bars and restaurants nearby and all the major sights.
Inside is simply stunning. Lots of lovely marble floors and tiling, a beautiful staircase leading upstairs. The rooms are great. Clean, tidy, very quirky but tastefully decorated. It’s a beautiful place to stay. We couldn’t find any faults.

We spent our last afternoon eating and drinking at the Casa Asti and wished we had found it sooner! Wonderful food and the most welcoming owners we have ever met. We felt like we were long lost family being welcomed by the owner, her mother 'Nana' and even her son-in-law joining in. They recommended what we should eat and they were right - we even learnt about some of the secret ingredients that made it so special. The location was exquisite, a small terraced street away from the tourist areas with no traffic allowed. If we have one reason to return to Malta it would be to return and not just eat but stay at Casa Asti as well.

The place also runs a restaurant that plays live music every Friday and Saturday, which is completely incompatible with a place where people contract for rest.
If you don't care about this, you will maybe like the place. But be warned they don't tell anything about this other "service" they provide on Booking or similar.

We would highly recommend staying at the Casa Asti in Valetta. The place is immaculate, the service is first class and the rooms are beautifully decorated. The host is very warm, friendly and helpful. Her 90 year old mother is a very delightful lady. The staff are friendly and professional. On Fridays and Saturdays they often have entertainment and the guests of the bistro end up dancing on the steps. You are guaranteed to have fun staying at the Asti!

This is a small, ancient and very quaint hotel right in the centre of the city, on a steep street that has tables outside for their attached brasserie. In summer it might be a bit noisy, but at this time of year it was perfectly quiet. The room we had was small but very pretty; the bed very comfortable, the curtains elegant and very good at keeping out light. The bathroom was. really a bit too small but clean and well equipped. I believe that the hotel is family run, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We had one lunch in the brasserie which was excellent. The decor was very tasteful and full of interest

The hotel met all our expectations, it is clean, very lovely and in an excellent location in Valletta. Not far from the buses and ferries to both Sliema and the 3 Cities. The big problem was the noise from a pump/motor that went on throughout Friday and Saturday night, vibrating the room. It was even worse when you stepped outside of the room onto the landing and used the bathroom. I was pleased to get home for a good night's sleep.

I do not think that they are close.
Call them directly which I did then @ 0356-21239506 or 0356-21227483.
I really enjoyed my stay there, and such a good place to stay while in Malta!
Yes, though it is only in the reception. We weren't able to get it in our room, just at breakfast or heading in/out. However some of the rooms that are around the reception might be able to get it.
