We just had a short break at the hotel. We were treated like royalty in these difficult times making it a very memorable stay. The service in all areas is impeccable. All areas of the hotel are very clean and we felt at ease and safe all the time. Breakfast was very well served with all hygiene measures taken into consideration without decreasing any of the enjoyment . The food was delicious and freshly cooked. We had lunch twice by the pool since the weather was permitting and each time we had five star treatment. Being our wedding anniversary we were even complimented with a very bottle of champagne and some sweet treats. One little hitch was the fact that the spa pool was barely heated if at all - not what was expected of such a hotel.

Hotel's Favorite
We decided to have a week exploring Valletta before moving to the coast. The Phoenicia was well worth the money. Our trip was bed and breakfast. There are plenty of places to eat in Valletta. Our room was large , the bed extremely comfortable. We appreciated the water and soft drinks which were renewed each day. Also fresh fruit every day. The room and bathroom kept spotless every day. We really enjoyed breakfast. Fresh orange juice, porridge with cream, fresh fruit. Cooked breakfast or omelette cooked to order. Plus all the breads and croissants. Had endless good coffee, taking our last into the lounge to enjoy whilst reading the paper. What a great start to the day. We used the buses to visit marsascala, walking on to marsaxlok. Buses cheap and very near to hotel. Valletta is a beautiful city full of history and character. We appreciated the warm welcome we experienced and friendly efficiency of everyone at the Phoenicia and hope to return next year.

A friend of ours said that, although there may be more than one 5* hotel in Malta, the Phoenicia Hotel is the only one with real 5* service. We now believe him! The staff were so attentive that it made a real difference added to the superb standard of the room, facilities and food.

Having not had an escape since January due to Covid 19 we just had to get away. Considering the pressures and constraints that the hospitality industry are under we still had a fantastic couple of days. The ONLY disappointment was the fact the main restaurant was closed so I couldn't have Oysters :-) .... however ... the alternative catering was still first rate!! We really rate the Phoenicia as a classic, friendly, efficient and stylish 5* that actually puts the guest first. You are treated a a person and not a number. Despite the tough times that all hotels are going through the Phoenicia seems to have been able to rise above it so that as a guest you don't notice. Brilliant...

The Phoenicia really is a beautiful hotel and was the perfect choice for a relaxing stay over my birthday weekend. The 4th floor room was cosy but colonially cute, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. A glance to the right and the iconic Triton fountain was in full flow looking resplendent and to the left incredible views of the bastions and out over Marsamxett Harbour. The tiny balcony which looked slanted was quite hair-raising to go out on so a night vista was enjoyed from within the room and the curtains remained open. I was really disappointed to be able to hear other guests in the room beside us - the walls are horrendously thin and the continual banging of doors down the corridor at 3am was annoying, to say the least. A testament to the hotel to be busy I am sure but during COVID times one would have thought we would have all been a little more spread out assuming that all rooms were not occupied, that is. Another disappointment was the exquisite Phoenix fine-dinning restaurant was not open throughout and was actually one of the reasons I wanted to stay. We walked into the city for my birthday dinner so enjoyed Valletta at night with music being played down the streets and the baroque architecture warmly lit. Stunning! We did take up the complimentary bottle of wine offer on Saturday night and opted to try the Café Phoenicia. Whilst the food and service was excellent the terrace outside is noisy and polluted. Taxi drivers all congregate at the hotel gates smoking and chatting so it marred the alfresco ambience. We had to ask to go inside to the cafe to eat. The Bastion infinity pool is stunning and the lady in charge was delightfully friendly as with the staff. Wonderful breakfast on the terrace followed by a walk through the peacock gate and into the landscaped gardens every morning was a highlight of the weekend. I look forward to visiting other LHW locations again, hopefully one day soon 🤞

Dear JacqJains, Thank you so much for sharing your recent experience at The Phoenicia and I while am delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, I would like to sincerely apologise for the disturbance by other guests that night. We do generally try to allocate rooms evenly on all floors, but since the hotel was very busy at the time and due to the room types booked, we were unfortunately not able to do so on this occasion. While I can assure you the balcony is not slanted, I can completely understand that people with a slight fear of heights might feel uncomfortable, in particularly on the 4th floor. Happy to hear that you enjoyed the view though. My apologies for your disappointment about our Phoenix Restaurant not being open during your stay. It has just been decided to re-open our fine-dining restaurant towards the end of October and I am truly sorry you were not able to make use of this facility. Thank you again for your valuable feedback and we are hoping to welcome you back to The Phoenicia one day. Kindest regard, Nikola Greifeld Reception Manager
