The guesthouse is full of history which George and Rosa, our friendly hosts, ably brought to life. They made us feel at home and suggested several interesting things for us to do. Each day breakfast included a different traditional Maltese cake. We would return here without hesitation.

We're told that there are only 2 traditional guesthouses left in Valletta - most have been turned into boutique hotels. The Bonheur is not a boutique hotel. If you want sophisticated decor and state of the art plumbing go somewhere else. But if you want to experience Maltese hospitality - a warm welcome (even at midnight!), unaffected friendliness and the...

Dear Ms Mallow, George and I really appreciate your comments about your stay with us at the Bonheur. We really love what we are doing and when our guests are such lovely people as you two, the job becomes even more pleasant. Hope to have the pleasure of being of service to you again some other time in the near...

You cannot put a price on friendliness and personal attention: Rosa and George make you feel like close friends. This, in addition to the quietness of the location (despite being minutes from the gates) and the huge breakfast make this a guest house with a very special atmosphere - much better than the dull international hotels with no personality. I...

We stayed in a large second floor room for 9 nights. The room was clean and the beds comfortable (all singles). We had a traditional balcony with 2 chairs and a Juliet balcony. There was a large floor standing fan that we used all the time. As stated on the website, the toilet is located at the end of the...

We stayed at the Bonheur Guest House for 10 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is ideally located to explore beautiful Valletta and a short level walk to the bus station to reach the rest of the island. It's in a quiet spot too, but so close to everything. We stayed in a large room which gave us plenty...

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights in May of 2012. I think they have 6 rooms, we stayed in room #6. For background, I go camping quite a bit and can tolerate a lot of things, especially when I travel. The basic necessities for me are a clean room/sheets and a decent shower. Pros: -Friendly owner and...
