Travelers' Choice
Situated in the heart of the glorious capital of Malta, La Falconeria offers its guests the chance to truly experience Valletta´s unique charm and character whilst surrounded by history. Valletta’s Baroque architectural style perfectly compliments La Falconeria’s fine and detailed premises, reminiscent of the Rococo style, allowing you to blend in and become one with the city. There are two sides to this hotel. The front half of the building is hundreds of years old; walking through the entrance, one is transported from the present back to the time of the renaissance nobility, with marble flooring and artistic finishes. The latter half was destroyed in WWII, and was rebuilt in a modern style while in symmetry to the rest of the city. An outdoor courtyard is central to this hotel, providing a tranquil oasis in the open air under the warm Mediterranean sun. These two sides of the hotel along with the modern facilities and luxuries complement the historic feel and live up to the city´s best description: “a city built by gentlemen for gentlemen”.

    Awesome choice for Malta!
We love our stay at the La Falconeria over New Year's week. We stayed in a standard room, which was a good size. It came with a little balcony which made it felt more luxurious. The bed is firm and comfortable and the bathroom is airy and space. Housekeeping does a great job in keeping everything clean and spotless. They even wrote us little notes for tipping them and New Years which was really cute. The hotel is so conveniently located to everything, 1 street back from the bustling Triq Id-Dejqa / Strait St, 5 mins walk from the bus station and tons of tourist sites and great restaurants within a quick walk. My husband and I got a little spoilt and complaint when we had to walk 10 mins to a restaurant for dinner one night. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. We went back multiple times for help with restaurant reservations, they were always patient and provided service with a smile. We love the in room tea/coffee set up with drinkable water included. It provides a nice break in the day. The breakfast service is also fantastic. The à la carte menu caters to a variety of different taste buds. (Try to porridge, for someone who usually prefers an English breakfast, it was a surprisingly delicious treat!). You can even request breakfast in your room for 5 Euro, which is a bargain given room service charges in hotels are usually ridiculously expensive. The other things that stands out with the hotel is that they still provide single usage bath amenities (something that a lot of hotels cut out recently), which ensure hygiene. Moreover, they picked products with less plastic packaging so it's more environmentally friendly. There were a few minor things that came up during our stay (not enough to knock off any stars): While in the shower, the water tends to run outside the shower area and flood the bathroom a little. Luckily the bathroom is rather big and the situation is easily remedied with a towel. If you have an iPhone, the internet seem to get cut off every time you close your phone. It wasn't an issue with a tablet. Not sure if this is something the hotel can look into. The breakfast offers an express menu, which I tried one day. But even that took about 30 mins. I wasn't in a particular rush so it wasn't a problem. Just something to keep in mind / plan ahead if you have some place to be. Overall, La Falconeriia is a fantastic hotel. They really do put hospitality into action. We'll return in a heartbeat!

A Boutique Hotel true to its name.
My wife and I stayed at the Falconeria from December 31st, 2019 to January 4th,2020. We have enjoyed every minute of it. Our stay at the Falconeria have contributed so very much to our wonderful first ever visit to the Island of Malta. From the moment of our reservation of our room at the Falconeria to the moment of our departure, we felt and most highly appreciated the care and attention paid by each member of its staff to the Hotel's guests. The Falconeria Manager, its receptionists, restaurant employees, room cleaners make a wonderful team we have rarely met on our previous world tours. Having written all the above we consider the Falconeria as our home away from home for its standard in room quality, service, breakfast , cleanlines, location and... price make it a wonderful choice while visiting Valletta, Malta.
Dear Nati, We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your recent stay at La Falconeria Hotel and that you found our restaurant and location to be great and our staff to be friendly and helpful. We all work towards achieving the best experience for all our guests and reading your positive comments and words of praise make us feel fully appreciated. We are truly happy that your stay at La Falconeria was memorable and we will be more than happy to welcome you once again. Best regards Steven Hyzler Hotel Manager

Incredibly friendly staff in a fabulous location
I cannot say enough about the helpful friendly nature of the entire staff at this hotel. I stayed when I visited my elderly father who had been taken sick and admitted to the local hospital while on holiday in this hotel Steve, the hotel manager, took a personal interest and offered outstanding service. He kept me posted about my father prior to my arrival. Stefano the restaurant manager was incredibly friendly. Sasa the chef cooked some of the best vegetarian meals I have ever had. Stavcho at the bar was so friendly and made sure that I had lots of filtered water rather than bottled water. Jayne and Emily at the front desk reassured and supported me throughout my stressful visit. The list of incredible staff goes on. Also, the hotel is in an amazing location . Clean rooms etc.

Stayed here for a week , hotel is conveniently just a short way from main centre so nice and quiet at night . Wi-Fi and aircon very good . The hotel is spotless clean and the staff are excellent. Raja on reception was very helpful with tips for excursions and special thanks to all the reception staff for efficiently dealing with some lost property we left in our room. Would highly recommend this hotel :

The hotel is in a lovely period building (originally a falconry -- the clue is in the name!). If you can afford it, opt for a room with a 'Maltese Balcony' it adds something special to staying in '18th Century Valletta'. The location is quiet at night although there was some traffic activity early morning, presumably from service and delivery vehicles. We found it entirely tolerable, however. The breakfast preparation noises other reviewers complained of didn’t seem to occur. Note this is very much a ‘boutique’ hotel with minimal foyer seating, and no lounge or bar areas. There are however some tables and chairs in a central inner courtyard. The basement plunge pool is really worth trying. Reception staff are super helpful and knowledgeable and gave exceptionally useful advice of the kind visitors like us required. The breakfasts are OK for, say, a five-day stay, particularly if you prefer to start every day with a standard full cooked breakfast. The self-serve buffet is quite limited apart from a good fresh fruit selection and anyone hoping for a proper morning pot of leaf tea should look elsewhere (although this didn’t stop us agreeing that, if we come back to Valetta, La Falconeria will be our first choice).

My wife and I are still basking in the warm memories of our lovely week in Malta (Aug. 30 through Sept. 4), in part due to our selection of a great hotel, La Falconeria. Though small and lacking drawer space for unpacking a week's supply of clothing, our room was modern, clean and comfortable, as was the hotel in general. The dining room was pleasant to dine in and the breakfasts of high quality, with both served menu and selfservice buffet. The location of the the hotel was convenient and only a short walk from Valletta's main street. What was most outstanding about La Falcoeria was it's warm, friendly and accommodating staff. Of the countless hotels in which we have stayed, this staff was exceptional. We want to extend a special thanks to Daniel of Conierge Services, for his help and assistance in all areas of tourist information and and tours. His vast knowledge, information, and warm empathetic manner made our experience in Malta truly special.

A great little hotel tucked away in a quiet side street, but just a couple of minutes walk from the best of Valetta. Clean, comfortable with a quirky plunge pool that is ideal for cooling off. Best of all were the staff who are also friendly and can't do enough for you . A delight.

This is an ideally located, stylish and welcoming hotel - having stayed for four nights, I would highly recommend it as your base whilst in Valletta. Location: all major areas and tourist attractions are within walking distance, including the bus station if you want to explore a little further afield - Mdina, for example, is particularly easy to get to by bus. The street where the hotel is based is very quiet and always felt extra safe due to there being a police officer in situe outside at all times because of the French Embassy. There are bars and restaurants in abundance nearby and also a couple of convenience stores, but these take some finding, so you can always pick up your essentials from the supermarket on the lower floor of the food market which is a little further to walk Staff: really friendly, helpful and welcoming. Accommodation: spotlessly clean and very stylish. Our spacious room boasted a comfortable bed and pillows, coffee machine/kettle and mini fridge. We also enjoyed a small terrace/balcony with lovely views of the sea and the Basillica. Breakfast: a great variety and choice of crowd pleasers on both the small buffet and a la carte menu. All ingredients were fresh and of good quality. Your delicious hot food is cooked to order and you can see into the kitchen whilst it is prepared (which is spotless). Slight niggles: no onsite restaurant or bar - not a massive issue, but you can see in the breakfast room that there was once a bar that is no longer used. An easy fix would be to have the reception staff monitor the bar aswell as reception, just to offer guests a night cap, etc. Also, there was no iron/ironing board in the room - this really should be standard for a modern hotel of this level. Again, no huge issue as we requested one and it was swiftly brought to us, but still an easy and cheap fix for the hotel to invest in an iron for each room. Finally, the lift is a little slow - if you call for it at a busy time, you can be waiting a while - we were on the top floor so had no choice but to use it. If you stay on the lower floors, I would recommend using the stairs. Anyway, book here without hesitation. We would book here again without question.

Small hotel but super convenient, clean, contemporary and can’t ask for anything more. Stayed for six nights without any pre booked tours or restaurants but was guided by the excellent reception staff. Special shout to Daniel who helped us plan our daily trips and who made tailored recommendations after listening to what we were after. Daniel was super knowledgable about restaurants (we went to five of his suggested places and loved the food and experience). Also helped make all the bookings for us to ensure we don’t miss out. Attention to detail including exactly how to locate the places. We had a lovely 6th floor junior suite with balcony and view over city. Perfect for a city break. Breakfast was also great. Not your typical buffet but instead very well prepared and presented hot cooked breakfast options. Would stay here again :)

Excellent hotel, well situated in the old town of Valletta. There are a la carte options for breakfast as well as the usual offerings associated with a continental breakfast. Staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. Our room was modern and well appointed with everything you need including tea/coffee making options. The plunge pool in the basement area looks amazing as the area is effectively carved from natural rock. Thoroughly recommended.

The hotel itself is very central but still quiet enough to be restful. The pool is small but lovely for an afternoon break. Daniel at the front desk is more than helpful. He knows everywhere to see and always has an answer to the smallest of questions. Great hotel but even better employees.

What a wonderful hotel; location, set up and such cleanliness. ALL the staff have been amazing; cleaning, room, breakfast and reception staff. We would like to give particular mention to Raja on reception who has been so friendly, cheery, welcoming and knowledgeable. He gave us some great tips and information and made bookings for us as did Daniel, who was also great. We also enjoyed our massages - a little treat in the sister hotel (The Gomerino Hotel). We really enjoyed your delicious breakfasts, our plunges in your pool and use of your gym. We will be recommending La Falconeria Hotel on to our family and friends! Thank you.

Lovely hotel in the heart of Valletta. A real feeling of luxury as soon as you walk through the front door. Lovely well appointed rooms and a nice breakfast. Reception staff were also very helpful and explained options for us whilst we were staying. Small plunge pool, gym and lounge all very nice too. Only slight complaint is that the soundproofing of the rooms isn’t great meaning you can hear noises from other rooms like toilets flushing / shower going on or the churches nearby. Would definitely stay again.
