115 The Strand Hotel By Neu Collective stands out for its excellent location, favored by guests for its convenience to ferries, dining, and local attractions. The hotel's cleanliness and service are commended, with special accolades for the amiable staff and the breakfast team. However, some travelers have expressed concerns over room quality, misleading descriptions, and noise disturbances from construction and street traffic. Despite these issues, the hotel is still considered good value for money, especially with the free lido access and its overall satisfactory amenities.

We selected this hotel as it is one of a few that can accommate 4 people in one hotel room. That suite consists of a double bedroom, another room with 2 single beds and a kitchenette and a bathroom. The view from the balcony could not be improved on the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was included in the package and having access to a kitchenette meant we had the option of making our lunch or having a take away dinner for the kids in the second room which has a small table. We availed of the pool access across the road which was excellent but the roof top sunning area did not have any sun umbrellas so we would have been sun burnt if we had tried to use that. The hotel is really well located and we also booked trips from the agency that is in the lobby. The only issue we had was that the hotel seem to suffer from regular power cuts at night and the backup generator did not allow for use of the air conditioner. The elevators to the front of the lobby were so slow that we and other took to using the stairs. We availed of the left luggage facility on our final day. I would recommend this hotel to anyone but especailly families with more than 1 child.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your family holiday and found the suite, view, and friendly staff to be highlights of your stay. It’s great to know that the kitchenette and breakfast included in your package were beneficial for your family. We appreciate your feedback about the rooftop sunning area and will consider adding sun umbrellas to enhance our guests' comfort. We are also sorry to hear about the power cuts and the impact they had on your stay. While these were due to issues in the Sliema area and not within our control, we understand the inconvenience and are continually working to improve our backup systems. Thank you for your recommendation, and we look forward to welcoming you and your family back in the future. Sincerely, The Neu Collective Team

Party of 8 on a 3 night Half board basis. All had the rooms which were inside no views except facing walls . The rooms were clean and OK for a short stay they do need brighter light bulbs pretty low level lights . There was a one plate hob kitchen area. Tv as normal mainly News channels but that's fine . Breakfast is served on the upper floor lovely views across the bay to Valetta . four hotplates serving eggs, sausages, hash browns crispy streaky bacon. choice of fresh fruits cereals cheeses and hams nice cakes to finish off . The evening meal is served in the ground floor Grana and you get a choice of two 3 course menus ( the starters can be quite big. The service is a bit disjointed I think there's a lot of staff training to been done as one waiter doesn't know what to charge ask the price first when ordering drinks having had wine for two nights running on the third evening they charged an extra 2 euro for the same stuff .In fact they should have a wine and drinks menu on the table . The Reception staff was very efficient .There is still work going on in the hotel so expect some unfinished door ways in the corridors but the rooms were fine Would probably stay here again as Im sure when all the staff are singing from the same hymn sheet it'll be a good option . Food good good location Value for Money

This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel. The location is great, close to the Valetta ferry and only 5-10 minutes walk to the centre of Sliema. Bus stops are also close by from which you can travel directly to the airport (X2 or DT2) or to other locations around the island. The rooms are a good size with comfortable beds and the free WIFI is a bonus. So too is the complimentary drink from the bar and 10% discount in the restaurant. Breakfast has a lot a variety and the staff are always polite and helpful.
As our flight home was late evening we paid extra to keep our room on to an agreed time (check-out is usually 11:00 or 12:00 in the morning). However, when we got back from our walk about 14:00 we found our room cards wouldn't activate the lift to take us to our room. A quick trip to reception soon rectified this but it would have been better if the card had been activated at the outset right the way through to the agreed check-out time.

I had pre requested gluten free bread for breakfast, the kitchen manager moaned the first morning I asked. I asked for fruit or eggs as I don't eat meat or dairy and I was told right out No! 10 days of this! Hot & Cold breakfast is offered on their hotel listings, doesn't exist. I noted fruit was introduced half way through my visit. I asked for conditioner and told you need to buy your own.
The hotel is half finished. Lifts are half finished, wall panels lying on the floor. My room looked straight out to a building site and the walls were dirty. They started 8 am every day. The Spar is not heated, even in November. You have to switch on the steam & Sauna rooms when entering. They are not turned on all day. All in All, not great, though the reception people were nice.

Although the hotel is beautiful and renovated, I was placed in a corridor that is still under construction. The room was not only not as nice as much of the rest of the hotel, but it had no natural daylight (the window looked onto a concrete alley) and smelled badly of mould and sewage.

On the last day, two men who were working on the corridor actually walked right into my room, without knocking, presumably because they did not think that the hotel would be keeping guests in that hallway either! Had the hotel taken a quick second to inquire, they would have known that I specifically booked this hotel to spend my birthday at - not, in the end, a very good choice for the treat I was seeking and not at all a good value for the money I spent to stay there.

The hotel spa facilities were nice, but under-utilised (I never once saw anyone else in there) as they closed at 6pm - before most guests would return from their day's activities.

This hotel is only worth booking if you book one of the more expensive rooms, otherwise you might end up shammed like I was. A very disappointing experience, indeed.

Stayed at the hotel for two nights and could not find anything to complain about. I booked an executive room that overlooks the streets behind the hotel where you can find a cheap supermarket as well. It was quiet during night, the bed was comfy so I slept like a baby. The room is cosy, quite large, has everything you need: iron, ironing board, safe, shampoo, shower gel, universal sockets with USB plugs (about 6). Due to the type of the room we could you the executive lounge on the 9th floor for breakfast. The view is amazing! The breakfast is really nice and satisfying. I really loved it and ate a lot :) The staff is helpful and kind. Sandra gave us tips about the sights that were very useful. As Hungarian tourists meeting a Hungarian waitress was pleasant as well! The location is perfect too: the street is a promanade full of life, bars, souvenir shops… The hotel has a restaurant downstairs, called Grana, where hotel guest can get 10 % discount. There are many bus stops nearby and the ferry is in walking distance too. To sum up: I loved this hotel and the staff too!

We booked via Agoda and got a great deal to stay here for the last week of September and were upgraded to a balcony room with a seaview. Having read the other reviews on here we felt this hotel was really good value to stay in such a convenient location and particularly liked that we could use the beach club pool across the road which was really nice. We also used the pool on the hotel roof in the mornings before breakfast. Quite frankly if you have a problem with the breakfast then I don't know what you would be happy with - there were Continental options along with English breakfast and fruit etc, and we saw other guests ask for other things eg fried eggs instead of the scrambled eggs which were available to all and they cooked these options for them. Lots of really nice restaurants, cafes and bars within walking distance, ferry to Valetta was a five min walk down the road, 20 min walk to Manuel Island (where you could go swimming from), and it was about a 30 min walk to St Juliens.

Stayed here for a family get together in Malta. The hotel was ok, beds are very comfy and bathrooms are good, but the walls are paper thin and I could hear my brother in law snoring 3 doors down! We picked an inland room which had one window looking out onto a brick wall so if you want to see the sky, definitely book a sea view. Food was ok but there are lots of restaurants within a 5 minute walk that are very reasonably priced and that serve amazing food. Lots to see and do round and about and the ferry to Valletta is a 5 minute walk away. Buses are every few minutes too and priced at €1.50. A nice hotel if you just want to sleep and wash here.

I had great stay for the most part, the night staff were more accommodating than the day time staff. I particularly liked the location of the hotel as it was easy to get to all landmark places. Zara, nice icecream and a good noodles spot were all a short walk away. I loved that you had unlimited access to the swimming pool opposite included with your stay and aqualuna provide all towels and the wristbands to enter. The hotel has a indoor pool which is decent… but best to go early or really late in order to get a space in the jacuzzi.

The exec rooms were much nicer than the family rooms. We wanted to upgrade but we were disappointed that the rooms were dark and the sleeping area was not as spacious as the exec room. We had a city view which was pretty basic but that couldn’t be helped as the balcony on the 9th floor makes up for it.

The cleaners were really attentive and would always check if we wanted our rooms cleaned even though we always forgot to put the sign on the door handle. I loved that you could have welcome drinks on the balcony on the 9th floor with views and breakfast which was the main highlight of my stay.

The breakfast was the same for the 7 nights and not much of a variety. I think this could be improved especially given the size of the hotel. The ground floor restaurant, Grana restaurant was nice, good selection throughout the day and delivered hot and fresh, I say they should go lighter on the cheese though…

Overall 3/5, the hotel looks lovely and is nice location but the breakfast and staff friendliness can be improved. Maybe I have been spoiled with 4**** hotels and above but if I am paying for a service regardless, I expect to be valued as a guest.

I review Spa hotels for fun but this was not the best I’ve been too but definitely not the worst ‘HerSpaExperience’ on YT for more if you’re interested

Dear RuGwopp, Greetings from 115 The Strand and thank you for your time invested in rating your stay and for choosing our property! After reading your feedback, I have to admit that I was displeased to learn that we did not meet your expectations in some areas and that we have missed the opportunity to provide you with a great experience that we always aspire to provide to all of our guests. We kindly appreciate your positive notes on unlimited access to the Aqualuna pool area, central location of the Hotel, enjoying evening drinks in the restaurant on the 9th floor with amazing views and on efficiency of our housekeeping staff. Your constructive comments regarding the topic of breakfast, and staff are taken very seriously and have been passed on to the relevant personnel for further action and follow up to ensure such a situation do not reoccur. I hope that you will consider returning to us on your next visit and that we have the opportunity of restoring your faith. Sincerely, Predrag Papacek Duty Manager

Husband and I booked a trip with my sister and her husband and booked two rooms here. You’d think they’d be together as they were on the same booking but they weren’t. But that was ok as they were the other side of a small corridor. if I opened the window in the bedroom it over looked a terrifying narrow concrete shaft that housed the noisy air conditioning units and if I whistled they could open their window overlooking this dusty, filthy shaft too. We tried not to breath in though as the muck got into your lungs. As a bonus, if we looked up we could see some sky so could see what the weather was like. But we couldn’t keep this window open ever, too filthy and too noisy. There was one more window in the room situated in the bathroom. That opened an inch then hit a concrete wall. So no ventilation and the room was very claustrophobic and hot.
The lighting in the room was ridiculous for a room with no natural lighting. You couldn’t do your makeup by this light or even see to make a cuppa safely.
There was also only one lift as another was still being built.
The rooms are cleaned well but they only give you one teabag a day....
At least 3 rooms on our floor had an issue with the toilets and they weren’t working properly so they said they’d send someone “tomorrow “ to fix it if they could. We could use downstairs public toilets in the meantime. As we were on the 6th floor it wasn’t very convenient.
All that said, the hotel is close to a lot of amenities, the staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was limited but enough for me (don’t come expecting English breakfast as you’ll be disappointed) and there are plenty nearby to eat, Bus Stop cafe does a good full English brother in law tells me.
If you just want a base to sleep then this is fine. If you want to spend any awake time here or are claustrophobic go elsewhere.

Hello. Indeed Malta uses the same plugs as the UK. In the hotel the most plugs are a 3 pin plug (like in the UK). In the room is one 2 pin plug (for the kettle) and 2 usb points next to the bed. If necessary you can buy an adaptor from 2 to 3 pins in the shop.
