D'Ambrogio was built back in the late 70's by a man called Ambrogio for his daughter Pauline to raise her future family. After marriage, Pauline and her husband France raised three female children. Years after, the father passed away and all the children become young ladies and started families of their own. Since the house was too big for Pauline by herself, she decided to open up her house to guests and travelers. Today, D'Ambrogio Guesthouse has a total of 6 double rooms, 2 of which can be twin or double beds. The house has three floors. When entering the house, one finds a family studio room on the left and the breakfast area to the right, and a reception desk ahead. On the first floor, is a large common bathroom and another three double rooms, including the Master bedroom. On the Second floor are two rooms with bathroom. All rooms have access to the second floor roof terrace which is ideal for barbecues and outdoor dining. Sun beds are also provided for guests who would like to be sun-kissed in Malta in Summer.

Very comfortable, clean and spacious room, with a fair quality/price ratio. Teresa and Pauline are hospitable and kind, always ready to give good advice about locations and places to visit. The accommodation is also close to Rabat centre, so very handy and convenient to pop down to restaurants, monuments and attractions.

The D'Ambrogio in Rabat is a nice little bed in breakfast close to the sightseeing highlights of the medieval town. The rooms are clean, quiet and furnished with love. Staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is a bit too basic. With some more fresh stuff and more choice it would make this accommodation really perfect.

My friend and me booked a room just one night before our arrival and everything went fine with the check-in. We actually got an upgrade to a bigger room for one night and were offered to stay another one although we didn't book in advance. On top of the yummy dinner we got invited to we also find delicious breakfast infront of our room doors. Best place we stayed on our trip in Malta. Hope you're doing all well :)

I was for business in Malta and my friend recommends D'Ambrog as it was very close to his place. The host and owner Pauline had rechieved me more then well! I had room nr 4 what is a very spacey room with all tools you need (great internet, refrigerator, warmer for hot water ect) and next to it was the bathroom and toilet what was as well very big and only share with a few rooms so it was not a big issue. Pauline hospitality is superb! She notis that im not eat much of the pastries she give to me and ask me what i loved as breakfast and as a fruit lover she had directly next day with out saying a big suprice next day in my room, big basket of fruit!! As well she is besides a great host she entertain as well we had a lot of fun together gosh... nights fly away when you chit chat in the kitchen... So i can suggest every one D' Ambrog to all and dont for get to give her a hug from me! she is a real good person ! You will see and the building and facilities for that price..... a bargain....

We booked this very last minute as we needed a stay in Rabat between a music festival and a booking elsewhere in Malta.
We are so glad we found this place online. Literally booked, spoke on the phone and were self checked in within 3 hours.
The building is lovely. Traditional Maltese house. Cool open rooms, lovely wooden feature furniture, great comfy solid mattress. We had a balcony to a view over Rabat and there's a huge rooftop terrace too. Lovely quiet neighbourhood. It is very handy for visiting Mdina as well (10 mins on foot), plus a great breakfast spread included.
Pauline the owner said she had works planned for making all the rooms en suite too, but we were more than happy with our short stay. Highly recommended

Thank you for your review. I am glad to inform you that we have finally installed private bathrooms in some rooms and we have also refurbished the piano lounge to serve as a breakfast area. We had very positive feedback from guests since and I hope we can host you again soon. Have a lovely day. Regards, Pauline Cassar

I have stayed at the D'Ambrogio Guesthouse for 5 nights together with my best friend. We absolutely loved how calm this part of Malta (Rabat) was. We could relax, go jogging and zone out in the evening. Rabat is well-known for its Dingli Cliffs that we ran to twice (the distance was approximately 4,5 km away from D'Ambrogio Malta so if you love being active, I highly recommend staying there.
D'Ambrogio Guesthouse was spotless. Our room was cleaned daily, delicious breakfast was served between 7:30 and 10:30 and we were often offered some extra snacks and sweets during the day. Also, we had a small balcony where we (me and my best friend) had breakfast and morning coffee together. We loved this routine! The wifi was super fast so both of us could work in the room. The speed of the internet was very important to us as we both work remotely.
D'Ambrogio Guesthouse provided us with an amazing experience. Rochelle and Pauline (mother and daughter - the owners of the place) were like a family to us. They cared a lot about our well being, made sure we felt comfortable and happy and always recommended plenty of spots for jogging, sightseeing and dining out. During the New Year's Eve, they hosted a family party and share some amazing food with us - a mince casserole, Maltese styled meat with veggies and a mountain of desserts - from cookies to a fruitcake. We found it extremely nice and hospitable - thank you once again!
Rochelle loves to travel so we connected immediately. We talked the same language of travels and surprisingly, she recently visited Poland - Gdańsk city! We met her entire family and exchanged greetings with everyone. It was a very emotional moment for me as I didn't spend Christmas home this year.
Pauline was like our mother. She cared so much, had a chat with us every single day and crashed a few jokes with us although she was busy with other guests and cooking. She let me print out my boarding pass and cook some extra food in the morning. She also greeted us with a bottle of champagne that we drank on the New Year's Eve and organized a transport from the airport to D'Ambrogio Guesthouse - we arrived late in the evening and she wanted to make sure we would be taken to our place safely.
To sum up, we loved this place and if we ever come back to Malta, we'll definitely stay there again.

Situated within easy walking distance for many attractions and a number of restaurants is this guest house.
Our room was clean and tidy and host was friendly. You are provided a key and can therefore come and go with ease. The breakfast was suitable for the price we paid.
We stayed in a room that had a shared bathroom with two other rooms and during our stay, we had the misfortune of the bathroom being used very frequently and for long periods of time, so this had an impact on our experience. There were no additional toilets available to use either, when the bathroom was in use for these long periods of time which for some reason included early hours of the morning (Luck of the draw I guess).
Although we would not stay here again due to the bathroom issues, based on the price and location, if you do not mind the inconvenience of possible bathroom and toilet access, we would recommend the guest house.
