Pergola farmhouses are situated on this Mediterranean jewel, surrounded by many of the island's attractions and dominated by spectacular country and sea views. Our farmhouses are all situated in the village of Xaghra, one of the most beautiful on the island. It is the village where one can find the Ggantija temples (the oldest free standing temples in the world), Calypso's Cave, the magnificent Basilica and the bays of Ramla and Ghajn Barrani amongst others.

Detailed Reviews
When you book a place for the first time there is always that little voice saying "I hope its as nice as it looks", it was - everything you see on the site is authentic, the accommodation was clean, spacious and comfortable. The pool was amazing (cleanest pool I have even seen - even after a week) and the view was amazing. The beds were clean and very comfortable and the open plan design means you get a lovely cool breeze blowing through the house (ideal in August). There was no fuss when making the booking with Julie via email and a visit from Doris (our host) once we had settled in. Everything was just perfect and yes we will be going back.

It was not our first time renting with Ta' Pergola Farmhouses. This year we decided to stay in Villa Soldanis. The beds were super comfortable and both the mattresses and air conditioners in all of the rooms seemed new. Kitchen appliances worked really well and the famrhouse was very clean overall. Doris, Julie and Julian were really helpful and understanding whenever we needed anything. We would definitely consider staying here again.

We spent a lovely week at Ta Guiletta Farmhouse. The farmhouse was very clean and the bedrooms were even fitted with blackout curtains, which I found very convenient. The outdoor area is wonderful! Equipped with a bbq, shower, turf, spacious dining area, deckchairs, umbrellas and a pool which starts from 0.90 going down to 1.8m. I found the pool excellent for children as they were safe playing in the shallowest part. The views are breathtaking!
I also loved the green area and benches in front of the farmhouse, and the cute cats that visit the area. Moreover, no cars can pass right in front of the Farmhouses so it's very safe for kids. There is ample parking along the main road. The area is very quite.
Julie and her father were super helpful and supportive throughout our whole stay and immediately tended to every query we had. They also left us fresh milk, Juice, butter, cheese, ham and sandwich toast in the fridge when we arrived.
I highly recommend their farmhouses. We will visit again :)

This was not our first time renting a farmhouse for our summer break, but this year was a horrible experience staying at Villa Soldanis which forms part of the Pergola Farmhouses group.
With some extra effort, common sense and basic hygiene, our stay would have been much more pleasant.
The curtains in the shower were just laying on the toilet flushing not even hung.
The Air condition unit in the living had a fault where as water kept dripping from the actual unit causing damage to the bathroom door. after this was reported to the owner this persisted and we had to completely omit from using the unit, which was not very pleasant with the August heat.
Cleanliness was not the forte and I believe that taking into consideration the amount we where charged for a week and the pandemic we should have found the place spotless and with no evidence of previous tenants! For instance we even found a hair band in one of the shower, cereal on one of the beds amongst other things show that cleaning was not thoroughly done.
The tiles in the bedrooms were sticky. This left us with no option but to buy the cleaning products ourselves and clean since we could not take the risk since we had babies and small children.
Bathrooms and Shower curtains even had mould which could be easily fixed with just the right products and a scrubber.
It would have also made sense to provide a water pipe for the outside area and providing floor cloths and detergents to be able to clean if needed.
It was also important to make sure that the property is equipped with enough cutlery and glasses for the amount of people that it caters for.
It is also very important to provide appropriate bins to be able to separate waste.
Adding more light and more umbrellas to the outside area would make more sense rather then having very low light at night in the dining area, no light at all next the the BBQ and only 2 umbrellas to go round the very large pool area.
The charcoal BBQ is such a nuisance to use and apart from the fact that it is continuously damaging the wall of the property itself. This can be easily replaced with a much more practical, clean and environmentally friendly gas BBQ. The charcoal is both an inconvenience and a waste.
The mattresses felt very old and tired apart from some slabs that where broken.
One of the bedrooms downstairs has a leaking drain from the ceiling which drops right into the sink and had been for a very long time, so much so that it formed a large stain in the sink.
To top it all off we even has a visitor coming in and out during the night through the kitchen hood. We notified the owner, and where given a trap ( which the mouse ate and kept visiting ever since). We expected a follow up on this but non of the owners ever called to check up on the matter.
Would not recommend this to anyone.

It’s our 5th stay at one of Pergola Farmhouses Villa.
This time we have choosen Villa Homedes which offers a beautiful and larger outside area. Ideal to accommodate our family and friends. Every rooms have their own bathrooms, plus two spare bathrooms at including one next to the pool. Just perfect. Air conditioning meter wasn’t a problem, it’s calculated for a reasonable consumption. We end up with credits while we never restricted ourself to use it when we were in the rooms.
The pool maintenance is beyond expectations, we wake up every morning with a clean and crystal clear water pool. The view is also breathtaking, so relaxing and enjoyable. Julie was very responsive when needed. Can’t wait for our next stay there.

we have visited the pergola farmhouses for a good 3 times this summer and there was nothing to complain about. Whenever we needed help we always found the owners very helpful. The amenities of the property were always found up to standard and the farmhouses were always spotless. This was not our First visit and will surely not be the last 😊

Our stay at Ta Lucija farmhouse was wonderful. It is a well kept 2 bedroom farmhouse is ideal if you want some quiet as it overlooks the valley. The cleanliness of the farmhouse and service provided were beyond expectations. Julie and her team took care of everything to the minimum detail. Well done and keep it up.

We had a lovely stay at Pergola Farmhouses. Host was always standby for information and tips for restaurants/beaches/… If you’re looking for a location that is both peaceful and central for excursions, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Well we are on our last night and we don’t want to go home. We came for 10 days and we have loved every minute. The pool and terrace area is great and you can chill on a lounger in the roasting sun or sit and chat the day away under her large parasol. Beautiful views down to the sea make this pool area even better.
The kitchen is small but perfectly formed for what you need on holiday, we did buy a sharp knife and we have left it for the villas future tenants.
The villa is in a quiet area so sleeping was no problem and the air con helped a lot!
The only issue we had was something they could not control and that was mosquito bites! If you are prone to these take sprays and creams, there is a lot of beautiful greenery so mosquitos are just one of those things you get!
We would gladly come back as dealing with Doris, Julie and her family has been great, nothing has been an issue!
Loved it!

I would say I have stayed at around a dozen villas in Gozo in my time and Villa Pergola is the nicest one I have stayed at. This is mainly due to the massive outdoor area & pool, with a stunning backdrop & scenery of the valley and sea in the distance. Both of the owners (father and daughter I believe) we met on separate occasions were lovely people and tried to assist with any query we had.
There is a fantastic walk down to a secluded bay (36.066261, 14.272536) which is only a 10-15min walk away.
