We stayed with 5 friends for 2 nights to attend a wedding in Canterbury and were very impressed with this hotel. Rooms are a good size and very clean with tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast choice is good with cold and hot options and of good quality. But the thing that made the stay most memorable was the friendly and helpfulness of the staff nothing was too much trouble. We ate here one evening small menu choice but the food was nice and reasonably priced.

Excellent service , good size and perfectly clean rooms. All staff in the hotel were very friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast was very well organised and Restaurant and kitchen staff were checking on each and every table during meals. Restaurant food is basic pub menu but served at a good portion size and value for money Highly recommend the hotel to all business and leisure guests

I don't normally write reviews but I just had to take the time to write this up after what was a very impressive stay - would reccomend to anyone. Was up here for business reasons for about a week and enjoyed every minute of my stay. In the whole week I only experienced one minor problem which was rectified straight away along with an apology voucher for a drink on the hotel manager; incredible service from Melwyn the deputy Hotel Manager who went above and beyond throughout our week to make sure everything was right for us, and also took time out to introduce us to IHG Rewards and help us sign up. He truly cares about his guests and this reflects in his amazing team who all give incredible customer service. If either George or Ruben are looking after you on your stay you know you will be looked after well to top class standards, these two young men excelled at customer service at every single opportunity and made a real difference to our stay! They went above and beyond in every aspect and if something was even slightly out of line they would go to great efforts to rectify it...they will go far in the business and are a great asset. Also worthy of a mention are Dila and Amit who looked after us very well and gave great service. I would be very happy to go back here anytime after my experience. The food was amazing and fantastic value, with a great chef throughout the week we has some restaurant-grade meals. Definitely well above the quality you would expect from a hotel at a service station. Also despite being next to a busy main road, the sound seemed to barely travel into the hotel at all and I had undistracted sleep every night so don't let the location put you off...you would barely notice you are next to the A2. The cleanliness was outstanding and room service was brilliant, every day regardless of how our rooms were left the quality we found on return was 5* worthy, everything cleaned and neatly in place. Cleanliness of the hotel in general also brilliant. Others have commented in reviews about being a refugee hotel; we didn't find this impacted our visit at all. How good of the hotel to house these refugees and work with the government in this programme...they were all pleasant and polite enough and many said good morning and evening to us as any other hotel guests would. Only downside really was having to pay for parking, £3 a night, but it doesn't break the bank. Would suggest a stay to anyone looking for a break, or for business reasons, or a get away...anything!

Nice stay, the reception rung in advance to tell us that there were roadworks and access difficulties, they gave us instructions what to do, no problems were encountered other than we had to drive round a bit to get in. Upon arrival it was clear that refugees were being accommodated here, which was a lovely culture touch and experience. The hotel had coned off some of the car park so the children could express themselves and play. Check in staff were friendly as were all staff in the hotel. Areas were clean and tidy. Later in the evening when we returned it was quiet, about 8 refugees sitting around reception taking advantage of the inclusive Wi-Fi, no doubt searching for things like getting a job and building a better life for their families in the UK, which is a positive step forward. Quiet night sleep, woke up fresh in a nice room. Breakfast was help yourself, plentiful and reasonable. The staff were attentive, friendly and organised. Immediately taking control of a croissant catching fire in the toaster, unfortunately the hotel had not translated the clearly marked sign saying’ not for toasting croissant’ into the native language of the refugees. The refugees had their own dining room which was disappointing as it would have been nice to interact, integrate and talk to them about their ambitions and the culture they had come from, the only integration was when they came into top up their takeout food for the day. Was sad to see that they felt the need to take food away, as there was plenty for everyone and they already had their own selection prepared in a manner they were accustomed to. All in all, the hotel was well organised and embraced serving everyone in an inclusive way, leaving nobody behind. Well done Holiday Inn Express.

Just returned from an overnight stay at the hotel. Staff very efficient , helpful and very friendly - really lovely to see smiling happy faces. Hotel clean and respectful of Covid guidance. Room exceptionally clean. Room was hot (due to weather and not the fault of the hotel) but a fan was provided, which was very welcome. Lots of parking at very low cost (£3).
