We booked this place during our trip on South of Iceland and absolutely loved it! The decision was spontaneous, we just enjoyed the sunset on the beach and were looking for a accommodation close by. And it was one of the best decisions during our 7 days trip. The place is so warm and cozy, exactly what you need a after long outdoor day. Interior design is adorable. Staff friendly and very quick in responding. The next morning I was so pleased to see vegan options on breakfast. Vegans will agree (and especially those, who love this morning ritual) that breakfast for us is something where we almost never find what to eat, while others enjoying all kind of cheese, ham and non vegan pastries from a buffet. They have 2 types of non-diary milk, granola and tadadadaaa a peanut butter. Isn’t it amazing? You can also use a kitchen if you want to make your own food. Next day we were trying last minute to book the place again but it was booked out unfortunately and we had to stay elsewhere... …
I had chosen this as I planned my road trip around the south coast and was close by to Vik and was best value for money and I also wanted somewhere dark incase the lights came out. I had a comfortable night sleep, hot shower and continental breakfast which was included to set us up for the next day. There is no restaurant onsite so would recommend you eat beforehand or there is restaurants in Vik, about 15min drive away or you are able to use the kitchen if you want to bring food and cook. Had a good overnight stay and would recommend to anyone travelling the ring road.
LOVED, loved, loved the Farmhouse Lodge! Wasn't so sure how we felt when we pulled up to an actual farm but loved the cozy, comfy feeling once inside. The hosts were very welcoming and and the rooms very comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful and would stay here again for sure if we ever get back to Vik!
Booked this hotel due to proximity to the DC plain crash site. it was about 5-10 drive from the car park. Breakfast was one of the best we had. Booked a 3 bed room. There were 2 rooms in the apartment. One with twin bed (joined together) and another with a single bed. Wish there was a restaurant nearby but there is kitchen which can be used if you want to do self catering.
Great rustic but modern feel. However, it was one of our pricier accommodations. We had our own bathroom, which was remodeled and very modern, heated floors. The beds were comfortable. They ask that we remove our shoes indoors, which was nice and it felt like we were in someone's home. The breakfast was good, not as large a spread as the fosshotels, again, feels like you are in someone's home in a B&B. It was a nice stay, although a bit pricey.
