Icelandair Hotel Vik is a new hotel in a wonderful setting in the village of Vik in Myrdalur Valley. It is nestled under sandstone hills and is embraced by magnificent natural surroundings. The views are stunning as you look out over the beach, to the sea and the Reynisdrangar Pillars, and experience the spectacular cliffs and birdlife where the puffins in Mt. Reynisfjall are only a stone's throw away. Myrdalsjokull Glacier stands guard over the region in all its splendor and there are adventures to be had all around. The hotel has 78 elegantly fitted rooms, decorated with Icelandic design and inspired by the natural environment. Our staff is happy to pamper guests and all general services in the local community are excellent.

Staff is helpful, the hotel modern, in the rooms you find all you need, our family room was large enough, but if you get a room on the ground-floor, you risk that the view is zero. To stop for one night, this might be acceptable, to stay longer, no way. Having the price in mind

My husband and I recently stayed here for one night (4Mar19). This review is not about the amenities and location, but about our customer service experience. There were some hiccups with check in, but Ewa and Mike went the extra mile for us. At one point, we were unable to

Our rooms were small and bathroom really small, but we were all still comfortable. Bed was really comfortable. They will wake you if Northern Lights are out, just request it at front desk. They have a happy hour at their little bar, and bartender was so nice and welcoming. Price

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The lobby and bar was inviting. It had a decent location. The views and rooms were a bit disappointing. Their was so much room condensation from the window. Hotel had a nice shower however.

Thank you for posting this valuable feedback of your recent experience. We are very delighted to hear that you found our staff friendly and accommodating and the lobby and bar area welcoming. However, we wish you would have left our hotel more impressed and fully satisfied. It is apparent from your review that the view and your guest room played a heavy role in your dissatisfaction. We do offer different room types to suit distinctive traveler needs and each room category provides more space and amenities than the category below it. Probably another room type would have met more your expectations. Thank you for staying at our hotel and we highly appreciate that you took the time to share your experience with us and other travelers. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you back during another journey along the south coast of Iceland and we would love to assist you in finding the ideal room for your next visit, so you can experience the best possible stay at our property.

We spent 1 night at the Icelandair Hotel. The hotel is near 2 popular landmarks at Dyrholaey (19 Km) and Reynisdrangar (aka Black Sand Beach 11Km) and is located off the main road that runs through Vik. Parking spaces were plentiful. Wind gusts at Vik during the winter

Hi, there aren't in the cottages but I can't say for hotel rooms. Generally speaking, I've never experienced any safety or theft issues in Iceland, it's so small it's really safe.
