Fantastic hotel. This is the kind of place where you feel like a friend rather than just a visitor. The staff was fantastic, and the rooms are very nice. There is a reason this is one of the best rated places to stay in the area. If you are lucky enough to get s reservation at the Volcano Hotel consider...

We were at the Volcano Hotel for a single night, and we were very impressed. Lovely rooms, clean, and comfortable. We took in the dinner option, and we were very glad we did. It was absolutely delicious. There was a storm moving in the following morning, and the owners were sure to let us know to get on the road...

We were looking for a small, personal and delightful hotel for our Honeymoon and this was perfect. The owners are lovely people and made our stay extremely enjoyable. There was a large and varied breakfast offering, I can recommend the tasty eggs. The rooms and the decoration are different but very in keeping with the volcanic surroundings. They also offer...

Wow, I loved my stay at this hotel. In the room, we find a binder with all the info you need to know about the hotel and the surroundings. VERY helpful. Margaret (one of the owners) was extremely helpful, sweet and available. We had supper 2 times during our stay. Extremely delicious, homemade supper. Overall, we loved our stay and...

Volcano hotel is located 10 mins drive from Vic. As Vic is not very memorable it was a good decision to stay outside of town. The rooms are very comfortable, way above average in comparison to other hotels/guest houses in this price range. The interior is quite new and the rooms are spacious. Breakfast is very nice and in a...

Very nice hotel. I loved the decor-modern and cozy. My room was pretty large and was very quiet. I didn't hear a sound from the neighboring rooms. The owners were very nice and welcoming. They had a nice breakfast spread and cooked our eggs to order. Highly recommend.

Incredible views, lovely proprietors. The rooms are very modern with nice amenities. Great breakfast (eggs cooked to order and fresh waffles). We spent some time in the gorgeous common room talking to the owner about the area--he gave us great advice on activities and the history of the volcano.

If you're looking to staying out in the middle of nowhere, this is the perfect place! The Volcano Hotel has a very local feel. It's a small hotel located just off the main road. There is not much around and if you need to go into town Vik is about a 15-20 minute drive. The hotel staff were very helpful...

Wonderful hotel with a local feel. Definitely recommend eating in house. The couple that owns the place also cooks for you. Splendid. Rooms are perfect and spacious. Saw the northern lights right outside my window. Everything you want to see is nearby. Very safe and comfortable for solo female travelers..

We stayed at Volcano hotel for 3 nights. The staff was super nice and helpful. Dinner was delicious and healthy. Best of all Johann, the owner instructed us when to be able to see the Northern Lights which we saw right outside of the hotel. It was an amazing experience. We also enjoyed the 3+ hours Glacier Walk tour with...

Volcano Hotel is a very nice country hotel in the area of Mýrdalur valley, by the southern most tip of Iceland. We have only 7 spacious and beautiful rooms at the hotel, the rooms are decorated in Scandinavian style, with hard wood floors and light interiors. All our rooms have private bathroom with shower, shampoo, soaps and a hairdryer. There is a nice lounge/dining room with a bar at Volcano Hotel and dinner is available for our guests, if it is booked in advance - latest the morning of your arrival. We take price in offering a personal service and know the importance of meeting a local, so do chat with us and ask us about anything in Iceland - we're happy to help. ... more   less
