The views are stunning as you look out over the beach, to the sea and the Reynisdrangar Pillars, and experience the spectacular cliffs and birdlife where the puffins in Mt. Reynisfjall are only a stone's throw away. Myrdalsjokull Glacier stands guard over the region in all its splendor and there are adventures to be had all around. The hotel has 78 elegantly fitted rooms, decorated with Icelandic design and inspired by the natural environment.

Very nice superior room and very good dinner and very good service too. The new building is very nice. We only stayed one night but for longer stay it would be good to have a safe and a minibar. Thank you.

Hotel's Favorite
Patio door opens and the window tilts out for fresh air. There's a deck outside the room but it runs the length of the hotel so not great for privacy. Room on the 2nd floor appeared to have French balconies. Cross the street to access the beach and very close by is a mall with a large souvenir and Icelandic clothing store as well as a grocery store. I believe the grocery store is open until 10pm. Buffet breakfast and dinner were good. Fabulous breads.

Responded Aug 27, 2022
Dear HappyCanadian13, Thank you for taking the time to review our property. Our hotel guest rooms do not offer balconies, however, rooms on the upper level are equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a lovely view. It is great to hear that you enjoyed your breakfast and dining experience in our in-house restaurant during your stay with us! We are happy to hear that you took advantage of our convenient location when you were exploring our charming town Vik. We do hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you again to our hotel when your travels bring you back to South Iceland. With kind regards, Hotel Vík team

We stayed at Hotel Vik for 2 nights last week. The room was huge for European standards. The bed was comfortable and the shower + toilet room was extremely nice. The hotel bar was great and the breakfast buffet was good. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights on both of the nights we spent at hotel Vik! And even had a view of them from our hotel room window! It was a very close walk to the church on the hill, Black Crust Pizzeria and Skool Beans Coffee. And a very close drive to Troll Expeditions for our Katla Ice Cave Tour.

I wish we could have stayed longer at this hotel! Fantastic room with the kid’s beds upstairs on the mezzanine. Great view from the window & fantastic location across from the black beach. We went to Black Crust Pizza opposite for dinner & ate a delicious breakfast in the hotel. We were added to the Northern Lights wake-up call list and it was fun racing out with other guests at 11pm to see the lights. Staff were super friendly, hotel spotless. Would really like to stay here again.

Stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. Easy access, just off Ring Road, plenty of parking, stood opposite a beautiful hill and making the most of that location. Rooms pretty simple but well equipped, clean and had everything we needed. Staff pleasant and helpful, check in and check out very quick. Walking distance to black beach, the church and a few restaurants and bars. A pretty supermarket also just across the street from hotel. Breakfast is simple (like in most hotels in Iceland) but tasty and sufficient. We ate dinner at the restaurant as well and the food was very tasty and pretty good value. Would recommend a stay here while in Vik

We stayed in a family room with a loft with a 2 beds for kids, which was perfect. We could walk to get food after a very long day, the beach was across the street and a little down road from vik church. Room was very clean, modern, all the comforts of home. We had to leave extra early to get to our glacier hike tour missing breakfast. They made to go bags for all of us which included yummy muffin, banana, juice, and a full sandwich (which was delicious) that we were able to eat after our glacier hike. They went the extra mile. Highly recommend thus property.

Vik Hotel was a great place to stay. We loved the rooms and the great breakfast. We used the game room and loved it too. Everything was modern and new and the fireplace in the main lobby made everything seem welcoming and inviting.

We spent two nights at this hotel in early March and were very pleased with everything. The front desk staff, the maid service, and the restaurant staff were all excellent. Our room was a beautiful room on the corner of the second floor with a nice view of the coast. Our two meals in the restaurant were both delicious. It was easy to give this hotel 5 stars.

This is a great place to plan a stay on South coast, decent value - basic amenities and a good cooked breakfast selection. Our room was warm and good beds, staff were welcoming and helpful - overall a good stay. Would recommend planning a trip out of Reykjavik to explore more of what Iceland has to offer.

At £170 a night including a delicious buffet breakfast, this was a very good value for money stay. All the facilities you need, very friendly, walking distance to the black beach, restaurants, petrol station and supermarket. Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel lobby and restaurant are very nicely decorated. Rooms are modern with a large tv screen and l'occitane toileteries. Only problem: no sound proofing. well recommended. fort he price paid, you cannot go wrong.
