A very clean room. New and modern look at the lounge and rooms. Beds were nice and shower as well. Good staff. Good European breakfast at the restaurant wich is in the hotel. Good location, on the main street. Easy to walk everywere. Vestmannaeyjar is an island. You take the boat from the south coast to the island (30min ca). Small volcanic island with a lot of history and their own specific culture. F.x. Puffins, rock swinging, volcanic history, killer whales ect.
This place was great! We were a group of 17 that travelled to Iceland for my wedding and along our exploration we came across this hotel. We were in the off season so not many stores were open, but the hotel was exactly as expected. Clean rooms. Spacious. Extremely friendly woman at the front desk that took so much time to help us obtain information of what to do around the island and where to eat (even made a reservation for us at the best place to eat on the island). We were even offered to stay after check out if we needed as we were traveling with such a big group and little kids. The friendliness of the personal at this hotel is what makes a difference. Breakfast served in the restaurant area of the hotel.
We only stayed a night, but the experience was great. The staff are exceedingly friendly and accommodating. They let us check out at 6:30PM the next day—free! Great breakfast that is included. Magnus and Rebecca were awesome!
Had a one night stay here last week that nearly turned into 2 days! Got to the hotel a bit before check in time but were given keys to a corner room on the top floor with amazing views of the harbor and of mountains/volcanos. SO nice! Hotel is well located, very gracious front desk worker showed us places to walk to as our RibSafari tour had been canceled due to high winds (the ferry ride over was pretty rough, too!). We did some of the walking, but the hills are steep so we changed to car travel and easily saw the whole island. Bed was very comfortable, and b'fast buffet was tasty and filling. There is a spa in the evening with 2 large hot tubs (seats 6-8?) available for guests, with showers and changing rooms. No Jacuzzi "jets" but very warm and relaxing. Our ferry off of the island was canceled and the manager assured us if we couldn't get on a later ferry they would have a room for us and would call our lodging for the next night to let them know we had been delayed due to weather. Luckily we got out on the later boat and continued our trip, but would have been happy to spend a second night at Hotel Vestmannaeyjar. Hotel is walking distance to tours, museums, and restaurants…
We enjoyed the weekend at this hotel , it has nice breakfast and the rooms are really nice they where really helpful for our kids ,this is the best hotel in Vestmannaeyjar we will definitely come again.
