We had planned to visit Hotel Eyjar and the Vestmannaeyjar on our trip to Iceland. Unfortunately, there were very high winds and the ferry was canceled - which we did not realize until we were pulling up to the ferry terminal in the evening at 6:45 pm. I called the hotel and the owner very kindly canceled our booking and... More

I cannot thank the owners enough for their hospitality. Rarely have I met people who truly seem to enjoy helping others as much as these. We enjoyed insightful conversations over a delicious breakfast, a very comfortable room and local wisdom that made our trip to Vestmannaeyjar very special and one we will remember and recommend very highly. I can't wait... More

We were met on the corner by the owner as we were having trouble finding the hotel. Awesome room! FABULOUS breakfast! Opened the gate to the lighthouse so we could drive up onto the property and watch the Northern Lights. Super friendly host. THANKS! K

Loved this hotel! The owners was very nice and helpful. He took great care of us and we will stay there again if ever we can. Lovely room. The breakfast was fantastic, with freshly cooked over easy eggs, yogurts, meats, cheese and fruit.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Eyjar for these reasons: - It doesn't look like much from the outside, but our room was very nicely appointed. The bed was comfortable, everything was spotlessly clean, and it came with many amenities that we didn't find in other hotels across Iceland (mini-fridge, kettle, dresser, etc.). Plus, the... More

Vestmannaeyjar is a very small island - reading Tripadvisor, one will see only a handful of them. The Hotel Eyjar isn't the easiest to find because it doesn't have signage other than what's taped to the front door but don't let that stop you from staying. We checked in late because we took the 7:45 ferry from Landeyjahofn and the... More

Even though the town is small Hotel Eyjar is not easy to locate. It is in the heart of downtown but recently surrendered its street level Lobby/Reception area to the Tourist Information Bureau. This is a multi-story hotel with no lobby n no elevator. Our host treated us very well n did his best to take care of us. We... More

Hands down the best value + quality stay I had in a recent 7 night trip to Iceland. The hotel is very well built and the amenities are all top-notch, along with design. Art throughout the hotel is from locals who look to communicate the ethos of the island and surroundings through their work, resulting in authentic, phenomenal aesthetics to... More

Owner is very warm and friendly. In the kitchen at breakfast cooking eggs for everyone. Lovely views (there really isn't a bad view anywhere in Vestmannaeyjar). Unfortunately only 3 stars because the room we stayed in (the suite with the white couch and white recliner in photos) was in need of some updating. That white couch was very well used... More

Lovely hotel in nice part of town! The breakfast was amazing, staff was great and rooms were quiet. Perfect place to relax. The rooms also have a small kitchen which is nice for self catering. Close to the ferry dock made for easy transit. Love it!
