Owner is very warm and friendly. In the kitchen at breakfast cooking eggs for everyone. Lovely views (there really isn't a bad view anywhere in Vestmannaeyjar). Unfortunately only 3 stars because the room we stayed in (the suite with the white couch and white recliner in photos) was in need of some updating. That white couch was very well used... More

Lovely hotel in nice part of town! The breakfast was amazing, staff was great and rooms were quiet. Perfect place to relax. The rooms also have a small kitchen which is nice for self catering. Close to the ferry dock made for easy transit. Love it!

The owner was very friendly and wanted us to be comfortable! We took the first ferry in the morning and got to the island and were able to check in right away! He even offered to help us with our bags. Breakfast in the morning was very delicious and the owner was there cooking up eggs and talking with guests!... More

Hotel owner (one of the original families from the Island), was so helpful. We could not find the hotel, even though it was in the center of town, and we called. Owner waited outside until we could see him. Rooms were great, and he made breakfast, also a treat. If you stay on this island overnight, I do highly recommend... More

As others have stated, the proprietor is extremely cordial without being overbearing. We stayed one night in a second floor room. Very clean; comfortable bed; nice shower. No issues with street noise. Parked the car across the street making it easy to access our luggage. Breakfast was extremely generous with various options. Obvious attention to detail. We only had one... More

We were there with our two small kids (2 & 4.5) for one night. It's a very nice hotel with flexible and nice people who run it. We only missed darker curtains, or some kind of shades, because it was too bright during the night. The couch wasn't too comfortable to sleep on, but we got mattresses for the kids... More

I stayed here in the same room as my parents after having to cancel the reservation for my own room since my partner couldn't come along on our trip. Although the only room for three adults was taken, the very helpful Magnea took a sofa in another large room and turned it into a bed for me. This ended up... More

Centrally located hotel above tourist information office. Very friendly and helpful proprietor, recommending things to see and walks to do. Spacious room that wasn't too hot. Good breakfast. What more can one ask?

We stayed for one night; Mr Johnson was very helpful; actually drove us in his car to see the puffins, then had a friend come pick us up. Gave us excellent restaurant recommendations, good ideas of what to do on a rainy day. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Room was sparse but clean, good breakfast.

After a one-day trip to Heimaey 1 1/2 years ago, my wife and I decided to spend three days in April. Fortunately, we booked a room at Hotel Eyjar and got even more than we expected. The owner/host was delightful and we enjoyed interesting conversations over the delicious breakfast he fixed every morning. The rooms are spacious and clean. We... More
