NUMBER OF ROOMS
Pros: great location, quiet, clean. Cons: Next to no privacy, no common area, kitchen is closed between 2300 and 0700, guests not allowed to store luggage or use laundry facilities, far too few bathrooms for the number of guests this hostile serves.
In short: Pros: Great location. Quiet Owners are nice. Negative: No privacy Very cramped No In-House Laundry No common room Self-service kitchen opens at 7am and closes at 11pm. Couldnt leave our lugagge there after check-out (10am). Our bus was at 6pm.
We stayed at 101 Hostel for nearly a week. The dorm was quite cosy and the beds were comfortable. The wifi was good. And the location was amazing! Right on the main strip. The family that runs this place is very sweet. During our stay, I got sick and we asked them if they had any private rooms available so that I could get some sleep — as I’m kind of a light sleeper. They cleaned out a little room in their own house for us. They don’t usually do that for their guests, but they took pity on me. :) I will always remember our stay and our gracious hosts. Thank you so much!
Hostel 101 is a lovely cosy little hostel gem in he very centre of Reykjavik. 10min distance from the main attractions, funky cafes, and shops. It’s clean, neat, and well designed. The kitchen has an retro feel, and is well equipped. There are three bathrooms with warmed up floor, and a hairdryer. I believe there are also laundry facilities, though I have not used them. The place is warm and has a nice garden. It’s also close to Harpa conference centre and plenty of cafes that are good to work from. - Bring your own towel. - There is not much common space — only the kitchen table, but you can work/read in the room. - The kitchen is closed 11pm - 7am.
The place is a very small familyrun hostel right in the city centre of Reykjavik. Kitchen is not huge but well equiped and they have a lovely garden to sit in. Room and facilities were clean and in good shape. Only downside is that the room I stayed in was very small for the amount of beds. Hard to fit the luggage of every person. And the mattress was worn down and very thin. The owners were super friendly and helpful. Extra tip: bring your own towel (which I don't mind as I usually have one with me)
