Very polite and at all times helpful and welcoming personal. The bed and mattresses are comfortable. I really slept well from the start. Bathroom is also very nice. And has great toiletries. Sightseeings are a walk away. As well as Restaurants Bars and Shopping.

This is our second time staying at Apotek and we can’t say enough good things about it. Everyone there is incredibly friendly and helpful. The restaurant/bar is fantastic. The rooms are so comfortable and cozy- plus the shower is one of the best in a hotel that I’ve experienced! We stayed last year for our wedding with several members of our family and friends. Everyone had the same great experience. This year we stayed for our 1 year anniversary. I had asked if they could recommend a bakery to order a cake to help us celebrate. They went above and beyond and not only found a great bakery, but actually ordered it for us and had it delivered to the hotel. The morning our our anniversary they set up a celebratory table with a card wishing us a happy anniversary, and of course, the delicious cake. We can’t wait to spend more visits with Apotek- we wouldn’t stay anywhere else! …

This hotel is right on the main shopping street. The rooms are clean and well furnished and the attached restaurant offers a good breakfast and excellent evening meal. theres no car parking facility other than public car parks, however you can park away from the city center with a 10minute walk for free.Hard to find fault.

Hotel is in a great location. That is all I can say good. Hotel itself is run down with old carpet in hallways, cheap furniture in the tiniest rooms one can imagine. Now the bad… hotel is located across the street from bars that rage until 4:00am and the noise is constant even for someone that is a hard sleeper. Then the drunk people exit and while we stayed there, played drums on the the trash cans outside the hotel until 5:00am… then the street sweeper started to clean the streets at 6:00am for an hour. We had 2 rooms and same issues with both. Showers in both rooms didn’t drain and flooded the floors… Up early for touring this amazing country, only to come back to rooms that weren’t cleaned, wet towels on the floor and no towels for showering. Repeat every night for 3 nights… For the price, there are much better options in the immediate area. Looking at Trip Advisor comments, which I didn’t do previously, most all the low ratings were exactly the same. I should have done my homework… I will visit Iceland again for sure but next time will skip anything that is associated with Apotek / Kea Hotel group. This is my first post ever and normally would let this slide, but this experience was horrible. …

Dear Rick, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience about your recent stay at our hotel. We appreciate your feedback and we're very sorry that you were unhappy with your stay with us. Being located in the heart of Reykjavik´s city center with it´s vibrant nightlife one can sometimes experience ambient city noise. This is more the exception than normal. We do recommend to our guests to contact hotel reception if there are experiencing any issues so that we can work on a solution. Our reception is open 24/7. Regarding your comment for daily cleaning - as a part of our environmental policy, our goal is to reduce our carbon footprint by using resources more efficiently. This means that our housekeeping staff will only enter your room to clean and restock amenities if you specifically request it. Upon the check in we kindly ask guest to select their preference for daily cleanings ( some days, every day, no cleaning at all) . Each room also holds a sign explaining this. If during their stay guests change their mind , cleaning schedule can be changed by informing reception. I want to thank you for choosing Apotek Hotel, and would appreciate if you could give us another chance to impress you in the future if you decide to return to Iceland. I chose this hotel due to it's location and TripAdvisor rating. Check in was quick and helpful and we were up to room 309. A corner room which unfortunately was adjacent to the emergency exit and the wind made some loud noises in the stairwell void, so don't get this room, it's also an odd shape due to it's location. Rooms 306 and 310 looked the largest on the map. Hotel is clean and beds are comfortable but the pillows a tad soft for us, but you'll never please everyone in that respect. Moulton Brown in the bathroom! Coffee machine and a decent TV, hairdryer, good quality towels, robe, slippers. Very good standard. We had the breakfast in our deal, expensive otherwise. Good selection I had the fresh salmon and scrambled eggs each morning, fresh fruit, coffee, pastries and cookies for our trips out. Lots of choice so if it's in the package take it, open 7-10am. We'd chose to stay here again as the staff helped arrange our Northern Lights tour and we're very friendly and helpful, couldn't fault them. Bojrn was my favourite statue on the stairs, I said I need 2 naked maidens, wife gives me the look!…

Great location , modern hotel close to everything you need Room a good size and comfortable, hotel offers good amenities and is spotlessly clean. Room has a coffee machine, which is a great extra touch and hotel restaurant amazing as are their cocktails I would avoid breakfast as expensive and other spots offer better value for money if you dont mind getting going out and about.

Beautiful hotel with attentive staff right in the heart of Reykjavik! Hotel is modern, clean, and comfortable with a great restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Close to all shopping, bars, and restaurants in downtown. A pleasant stay and highly recommended!

We could not have had a better central location to stay at in Reykjavík. We could easliy walk to restaurants, shops and cafes. The room was large, clean and very accomodating during our 4-night stay. Would reccommend this hotel to family, friends or anyone else who wants an enjoyable stay in a great location within the city.
