My husband and I recently had a very nice stay with friends at the Apotek. Very comfortable, friendly and professionally run boutique hotel. Restaurant is excellent with a wide selection of good wines. Highly recommend.

We stayed at this hotel while in Reykjavik. Staff are pleasant, helpful and very accommodating. Our flight came in very early in the morning. We checked in expecting to have our luggage stored since it was only 7:30am. The front desk staff searched for a ready/available room. He found one and gave us our keys. This made a huge difference starting our holiday! We were able to rest a bit after a long flight and enjoyed walking around the city the rest of the day. Our room was clean and well maintained. Linens and towels were fresh and clean. Complete amenities with bathrobes and slippers. There is an in room safe. Wifi connection was strong and stable. Breakfast was sumptuous. Check in/out process was quick and easy. The property is within walking distance to shops, restaurants and attractions. A fantastic hotel in a great location. Highly recommend this place.

The rooms were very comfortable, and well appointed. There are other good hotels in the area, but this one was certainly worth paying that little extra for. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Easy walk to everything you need in Reykjavik.

Room Tip: A higher floor, and one of the superior rooms will do the trick.

We stayed for 4 nights in a superior room. The room was comfortable with a large queen? size bed with individual quilts, Nespresso machine, free safe and adequate wardrobe space. Bathroom was well equipped with a walk in shower but no bath which was perfect for us. Location is ideal in the centre of Reykjavik, within walking distance of the main city attractions. Breakfast was in the restaurant and was a typical hotel buffet breakfast. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant on our first night but we were disappointed when we decided to eat there again later in the week as they were having a special “Food &Fun” promotion with a guest chef so the normal a la carte menu was unavailable, with only a 7 course tasting menu on offer. With little on the tasting menu which we fancied, we were forced to eat elsewhere. This was the only disappointment in a lovely break in Reykjavik.

I loved the shower, rainfall shower with a heated towel rail and lovely Molten Brown toiletries. It’s a great location right in the center of the city with loads of bars, supermarkets and restaurants nearby, it was also ideal for pickup location for the tours we booked. I thought the coffee machine in the room was a nice touch. We also made good use of the fridge in the room. The hotel bar is also really nice for a cocktail.
