Stumbled upon this gem of an apartment for my quarantine stay in Reykjavik. They offered a quarantine price unlike the other apartments I’ve looked at, it’s an amazing deal!

The lovely hosts were very kind and checked in with us through our quarantine and even allowed us late check-out (no charges) during the day as we had a late afternoon flight to catch.

Shared with a friend, we each had a cozy double-bed bedroom, there was a bathtub and spacious living room. The kitchen was well-equipped for basic meals and also basic cooking items such as oil, salt, sugar, tea and coffee etc. Bathroom had necessities such as hairdryer, clothes drying rack, soap, shampoo.

It’s a stone’s throw away to the water, location makes it easy to walk around the city and the local bus stop is right outside. Very accessible and convenient. I will definitely come back and recommend this place to friends and family :)

My wife and teenage daughters visited Reykjavik Iceland the week of Christmas in late December 2019 and stayed at the Old Charm Reykjavik Apartments. The location of this property is ideal and made walking around the city to explore very convenient. We loved walking around and finding several of the Yule Lads projected on various buildings throughout the city. Our host, Steinunn, was amazing, she was very helpful with all my many questions and assisted me in organizing transportation to and from the airport. The property is very nicely furnished with everything you need for cooking your own meals. However, it can be a bit noisy at times due to cars or buses driving by or people walking by and talking. We simply wore earplugs to bed at night and didn't have any problems sleeping. My wife and I would love to come back for another visit to explore this amazing country and would definitely recommend this property!

We had a great stay at Old Charm. We stayed in the "Two Bedroom Apartment with Balcony – Green House". For Iceland, it was a good price, and the place was huge, really a full apartment. We were two people but a third could have stayed with us no problem. The bed was comfortable, the shower warm (use the small shower head for more water pressure). The bathroom has a place to hang towels that warms them, which is really nice. There is a full kitchen with a big fridge and lots of cooking things that we didn't use except the electric kettle. There is a balcony with a table and chairs, which is always nice. The owners are very nice, and vaccinated, and if you go into their office they will mask if you are masked. Midway through our stay they gave us fresh towels and washed the dishes we'd not washed yet. The place is convenient to everything, including two bus stops (6 and 14) for tour and airport buses.

The only "con", which in no way reduces our satisfaction with our stay, was that the place is in fact old (it's not just a name) so there were things like steep, worn stairs (definitely not an accessible room) and a balcony door with no doorstop so it swung in the wind (it had no door handle on the outside so you couldn't close it). But I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Small things to know: they require that you take your shoes off at the bottom of the stairs, and they provide slippers for you to wear in the apartment. As someone with cold feet, it was plenty warm so that was no problem (and you can actually adjust the heat yourself in each room). There is no recycling bin so you just leave that on the table and they'll collect it. The garbage bin is under the sink and you can bring it when it's full to the backyard where there are two big bins.

Enjoy your trip - you won't regret staying at Old Charm.

My family stayed in 2 of these properties (Hverfisgata 55 & Vatnsstigur 8) for 4 days in January. Both were immaculately clean, had very comfortable beds and it was nice to have a place to gather to eat together and hang out in the living rooms, as opposed to 3 separate rooms in a hotel the prior 4 days. The location cannot be beat- 1 block from the main shopping street and restaurants, amazing bakery (Sandholt) and grocery store. The owners are VERY responsive- my kids left their keys in the house and they came right away and put a new one in the lock box. Great and extremely prompt communication the whole time.

We had the most amazing stay at this warm, cosy traditional house (27/12 to 02/01). 3 well equipped bedrooms, kitchen & bathroom. Our host, Steinunn, was brilliant & made us feel very welcome, changing towels during our stay & keeping us up to date with any local weather warnings.

It was perfect for us - a family of 3 (one age 14) & another couple. Plenty of room in the lounge to sit & chat about our adventures after a day/night out exploring in the cold. Excellent location with shops, supermarkets, bars, Hallgrimskirkja & seafront just 5 mins walk away but with minimum noise from the street. Haven't slept so well in ages!

If there was one very minor grumble, it was that the shower wasn't very powerful but, it's an old house & I'm sure there is very little the owner can do about local water pressure!

I wouldn't hesitate to book with Old Charm Apartments again. 10/10 from us.

We stayed at Old Charm Apartments for three nights, the accommodation is stunning and made our family break to Iceland a wonderful experience. The house is in the centre of Reykjavik and close to two bus stops so it is very easy to stroll into town for a meal or arrange a pick up for a sightseeing trip. The owners are are so lovely and accommodating. The house was always warm and cosy, the decor is simple and stylish and everything we could have wanted was available in the accommodation. We would highly recommend a stay in this beautiful house and very much hope that we will be able to visit again.

We stayed here unexpectedly when our departure was delayed by bad weather.
The apartment is fabulous and the hospitality warm and generous. The owners allowed us a late checkout when our flights were changed which made all the delays so much less stressful.
The apartment itself is warm, spotlessly clean and well appointed. Close to the centre of town. Would definitely recommend and return!

We as two family couples traveling together chose this 2 bedroom apartment for its amenities and location on our last 2 days in Iceland. It did not disappoint. We could walk to all locations in downtown Reykjavik, and it is just one block down from the main shopping street. It provided easy free parking for our rental.
Managers were great to communicate entry process, with follow up to ensure we received the info. Also, managers were easy to reach if needed. One did stop by to check on needs on our first morning, which was nice.
Apartment was very clean and well stocked with kitchen supplies.
Only down to this location/apartment is you can hear people talking when walking on sidewalk outside, but this did not bother us that much.
Would definitely recommend this apartment and would stay again

The apartment was very comfortable, one improvement could be more pillows for sleeping or firmer pillows, to be honest this was the same everywhere we stayed on our trip. Other than the apartment was very clean and spacious enough for 4 people, the kitchen well equipped and decent shower. There was also a free parking space next to the building off the road. The location is perfect as it’s in the centre of town, 30 seconds away from the main walking street Laugevegur where you will find plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants up and down. Christian the host was very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our last few days in Iceland here.

This house is great. It's a vintage home built in 1898. Very cozy, but ample room for a family of 5. 3 rooms. Double bed on ground floor, 2 rooms upstairs with a double in each and an extra single bed. Kitchen is well equipped. The only drawback is 1 bathroom with 3 teenage daughters. Also, a dishwasher would be nice, be on holidays we eat out except for breakfast. The house location is smack dab in the centre of where you want to be. Restaurants, sights, shops on your doorstep. Literally 5-10 min walk from everything you need and want. Also since its in the city on a busy road, expect a little noise from the original thin windows.

Hello! Sorry, I just saw your question today. We rented a car so we had tons of flexibility while in Iceland. There are public buses that go to and from the Blue Lagoon. Ive heard they are easy and reliable.
