Alba Guesthouse has been open since June 2004, well established with a personal touch from many years in working with travelers from around the world. The house was built in 1944 as a family house for Sigurvin Einarsson and his wife Jorina G. Jonsdottir, grandparents of Alba Guesthouse former owner. The house was renovated before opening as a guesthouse, inside, outside and the garden. Alba has 12 rooms with shared facilities, including family rooms that can accommodate up to 4 people. Owners since April 2013 are Harpa Sigfusdottir and THorsteinn Fridthjofsson.

The room was quite small but enough for one night stay. It was not the cleanest room ever. Shared bathroom could have been cleaned a bit more often as shared by at least 4 rooms downstairs. I would suggest to clean the bathroom first thing in the morning (before breakfast) as it was hard to use first thing in the morning. Breakfast home made, good overall.

We had a great stopover in Iceland at Alba Guesthouse. The rooms were nice with an excellent breakfast. The kindful and accommodating host also offers to prepare a takeaway lunch for a small amount of money. Moreover she really helped us with the hostile weather of Reykyavik in winter!

Good guesthouse with nice furniture and commodities for the price. The hosts are very nice and helpful if needed and the breakfast is really perfect for the price !! Also a cheap option is offered for them to prepare a sandwich and drinks for your lunch.

Nice staff. delicious breakfast. A warm and quiet room with a sink and a nice view. The clean and warm bathroom although it is shared. It's about 30 min walk to downtown but there is a bus stop near to that. I enjoyed my stay there and it made me feel at home

I used Alba as a base with my 2 teenage daughters for our 4night Iceland trip. The couple who run this guesthouse are absolutely brilliant! So welcoming and helpful. We had a triple room and it was perfect, nice and clean with super comfy beds. The shared bathroom was clean and tidy. The breakfast was really nice. Bacon, sausages, egg and beans along with buffet style toast, ham & cheese. Fresh fruit everyday. Substantial breakfast for a long day out for sure. We will definitely be returning for another trip.

Very good location, very nice host. The breakfasts were good. Parking for guests. In the room you could hear what was happening in the corridor, you could refresh the bathroom for guests. There is a fridge for guests in the facility.

We (family of 4) shared a room for one night in Reykjavik. Nice location, close to the center. Friendly host and great nutritious breakfast in the morning. We were allowed to leave behind our luggage in the morning before checking in so that we could explore the city.
