Stayed here after a cruise for two nights. Terrific location, walkable to lots of restaurants, bars, and museums. Staff was amazing. Food at restaurant was delicious. Hotel was very clean, Would recommend it and absolutely would stay here again.
Great hotel. Brilliant location, the staff were excellent and went out of there way to help us. The hotel is clean and the rooms are very nice. Excellent stay and would highly recommend for a great stay in this lovely city. We had to get a last minute taxi to one of our trips and the buses were cancelled. The girl at the hotel couldn’t be more helpful and has a taxi with us in less than 10 minutes. Breakfast also very good.
Not value for money. Location is excellent though. Staff try to help you but their management system needs to be improved. Ask them beforehand if they will have house-keeping available or not. Try to get a room not facing the front of the hotel because it is too noisy throughout the night.
The hotel location, staff friendliness, cleniliness were all at par, just that the house keeping was poor, daily making and cleaninig of the room did not meet standards, toiletteries were not replenished appropriately.
The service was subpar for the price of the hotel. The towels we left on the bathroom floor were not replaced, the shampoos we used up were not replenished. It is the first time in a hotel, especially at this price point, that I had to ask for new towels. Our room was on the top floor and only had tiny skylight windows. While the room was nice and clean, it was claustrophobic. The blinds did not fully cover the small windows. In the middle of the summer where there is no “night” in Iceland, that had a big impact on our sleep quality. The location is great, the facilities are clean, front desk staff is helpful. However at this price point I would not stay at this property again.
I stayed here for 5 nights and loved it. Historic building which has been thoroughly modernized inside. Nice king room with free wifi, in-room safe, mini-fridge and large TV. Excellent location for tourists with shops, restaurants and attractions within walking distance. Bus stops a few blocks away for access to more distant places. Very pleased with the Radisson Blu 1919 and would highly recommend it.
The Radisson Blu was in a great location. We did not have a car and were able to easily walk to all the places we wanted to go. The rooms The rooms were very clean and well equipped. There was water and chocolates available in the lobby, which was a wonderful pick me up. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The coffee bar off the lobby served excellent coffee with a very knowledgeable barista.
This hotel is the perfect location for a visit to Reykjavik. The main shopping street and many restaurants are within walking distance, as well as the old wharf where the whale watching ships are located. The staff was great, the coffee house excellent. Make sure to get a superior room; the second time we stayed we were not given that type of room and it was smaller and on the noisier side of the hotel. On the weekends, the bars close at 4:30 am, so there is much partying going on!
Best location to be at Reykjavik. The famous hotdogs stand that Clinton made popular is right next to it. Other restaurants and main attractions are walking distance. Staff was very courteous and responsive.
We booked a Standard Room and were happy with our choice. While researching which hotel to book in Reykjavik it seemed that all hotels in a good central location have a noise problem (during weekends) as the people in Iceland like to party. Therefore we requested a quiet room and got a room facing a courtyard. Of course that was no view to write home about but we slept really good, no noise, very good mattress and bedding. The only minus about our Standard Room was that when you opened the door you were already in the middle of the room - no little corridor or so. Check-in + check-out was smooth and the receptionists were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was in the Radisson restaurant Brut. The breakfast buffet had all you could ask for, cosy atmosphere and also very nice attentive staff. Close by is the bus stop no. 3 one of the stops were excursion companies and airport buses do their pick up/drop off. If you get hungry and do not want to go to a restaurant there is Hlöllatbar Sandwich kiosk around which also has yummy wraps.…
