We spent 3 nights at the Centrum. It's big plus it is in a great location which means easy walking to the cathedral, harbour and some great restaurants. The staff were really helpful especially Chris who organised a Northern Lights tour and went to great lengths to check the best possible night and tour company. The rooms are compact with...

We had asked for a 'quiet room' and were pleased we did, as other guests complained about noise from the street. Rooms are a good size, but the tiny little corner shower was not pleasant to use. I forgot to report that the hairdryer didn't work. However, we were only there for one night. Service was fine and breakfast was...

The room and the reception service are generally fine. The breakfast is pretty good given how expensive food are in Iceland. In short, everything was fine for our first night stay. However, when we return 3 nights later, we were given a room on the 2nd floor that was facing the main street and it was terrible. There was no...

The hotel is centrally located in the old historic district. The hotel and rooms are new and modern. The lobby is conveniently connected to a pub, restarant and coffee shop. Staff is friendly, professional and helpfull. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and spacious. The main shopping street, harbor, pubs and restaurants are all within walking distance.

A very comfortable hotel, conveniently located in downtown Reykjavik. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, and the bed comfortable. The staff are very helpful. The breakfast buffet is large, with both hot and cold selections, and I had a very nice dinner at their restaurant (20% off the food as a staying guest!) one night.

This place was so affordable compared to other options, yet it is located in a great place within walking distance to pretty much everything. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was spectacular. We arrived way before scheduled check in time and staff allowed us to get into the room early without any prior warning. Highly recommended.

Very smart hotel, friendly staff, great location. Small room, but very nice and clean; good toiletries etc. Don't have a room facing the Salvation Army building because it was very noisy all night long on Saturday 18th March - taking in rough sleepers, revellers making merry. Not the best breakfast selection, but adequate.

We have just returned to Uk having spent 5 nights at the Reykjavik Centrum. We found this to be a lovely hotel, the staff were very helpful. We enjoyed the breakfasts, although some mornings we had to ask for certain foods i.e. bacon or fruit but it came eventually. We had 3 nights eating in bar. Lovely food but as...

This was our second time staying at the Centrum. We were there in July 2016 as part of a group tour. When we booked another trip to Iceland, we wanted to stay there again. The location is great, right in the city center; the employees are friendly and helpful. We stayed for two nights, went into the highlands for three...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Reykjavik Centrum is a new first class hotel in the heart of the city, opened on April 1st 2005. It is located on one of Reykjavik’s oldest streets, Adalstraeti, in a newly renovated building, the oldest part of which was built in 1764. On each side of it, new buildings have been constructed in the likeness of their historic predecessors. The hotel spreads over all three buildings, and is designed in the style found in Reykjavík around 1900. During its construction, the remains of a Viking longhouse from the Settlement Period were found. Among the finds excavated at the site were Iceland’s oldest human remains, dating from approximately 870 AD.The hotel has 89 rooms, each fitted with modern amenities, such as satellite TV, telephone, Internet access, mini-bar, radio, iron and board, hair dryer, safe and tea & coffee set. All rooms have en-suite bathroom with either a shower or a bath. ... more   less
