The Black Pearl is a real gem! Very clean and modern with great conveniences - a fully equipped kitchen to cook if you are interested, full size refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster etc. The harbor location is perfect!!! Great restaurants and activities near by. A very close bus stop for tour pick ups. In 5 minutes you can reach the main shopping, restaurant and gathering spots. Also an incredibly professional and friendly staff that happily answers questions and takes care of your needs. Serge and Alavaro were awesome! They are great ambassadors for the hotel. If you secure a reservation at the Black Pearl you won’t be disappointed!!!

Had a fabulous time staying at the Black Pearl. Location, staff, room, beds just excellent. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and great tips on the best places to view the northern lights in the city. Easy walking distance to everything. The kitchen had everything you need. Can't wait to return.

Be prepared to listen to cars drive all night and people outside talking. Whole room is made of cheap Windows so you hear every single thing. Heavy lady at front desk was very rude. Had to book another hotel for the next day so I could get some sleep. Told the lady about why I’m checking out early and she refused to give me a refund for the night I didn’t use. She said oh well you’re in the city it’s loud deal with it. I live in downtown Chicago and never have a complaint about loud noise. The building is just cheaply made here at the Black Pearl. Don’t stay here

Great location. Walking distance to every Main Street. Friendly staff. Always willing to help. Beautiful rooms, very clean , modern and spacious. Felt very safe there as well. A bit expensive but well worth it. Very quiet as well. Highly recommend.

Pros Modern apartments Good location near old habour, and many good restaurants (recommend Hungry Chef and Sushi Train just opposite, and Pho restaurant 100 m away) Good amenities in apartment - cooking utensils, oven, microwave, kettle, fridge freezer, etc. Helpful service by reception Great house keeping. Cons No washer dryer The balcony faces the wrong way to see northern lights. Partial view visible from bedroom windows.

My wife and I were here in Reykjavik last September and stayed at another nearby apartment. Returning in May we spent a week there, but we’re getting a little bored, so we switched to the Black Pearl for another week. We asked for an early checkin which they were glad to accommodate our needs. We were assigned apartment 403, a really nice one bedroom. The furnishings are quiet modern and comfortable, but lacked a view of the harbor which we were accustomed. It comes with a Nespresso machine and a small collection of capsules. Top grade toiletries and the towel warmer are some of the other niceties. The frig is stocked with numerous”for charge” snacks, drinks, wines and alcohols. The apartment has a limited choice of TV programs, but with an hdmi cable we were able to connect our iPhone and view Netflix and Tubi movies. Our stay at the Black Pearl was fantastic. We even got an upgrade to a nice suite which was beautiful. The reception, especially Serge and Alvaro were very helpful scheduling all of our tours and they recommended great restaurants and activities. They were incredibly friendly and made our stay fantastic.

The room was clean, quiet and well located. Having parking on site was really handy. The staff was extremely helpful, gave excellent recommendations to places, and were very patient and cheerful. There is a great bakery nearby. Only word of caution is that there is construction in the street (down the road) that will affect getting accurate driving directions from map apps. It is a big project that looks like it will take many months. It doesn't prevent access to the hotel, only that you have to be creative in getting there from certain directions.
