Great location - everything is within walking distance, next to the Tjornin pond and right opposite the bus stop 1. Next to multiple bars and restaurants. Room was great...had everything and nicely decorated. Could not ask for anything more. Extremely helpful staff. I would stay again without a doubt.
This was our first time in Iceland. We stayed two nights as a stopover to Amsterdam. We came in at 6:15am Iceland time which was 11:30pm our time. We were greeted warmly and given an early check-in and an upgraded room since one was available. Every front desk person we spoke to was so helpful and kind. The hotel is lovely next to the church and easy walking to all the sights in Reykjavik. We love smaller hotels where the staff are helpful and this was a great example of one. A great place to stay in Reykjavik!!
Extremely happy - very central location, super clean, and friendly hotel. Compact bathroom with a powerful shower could have used some shelf space. . Towels white and fluffy lovely robes. Would definitely stay here again.
We had such a great stay here! We were just in Iceland for a one-night stopover en route from Paris back to Boston, and wanted somewhere right downtown and also that had enough room for our family to not be on top of each other. We booked a "biggest" room, and with the 2 kids it was perfect, they didn't even need to share a bed or a room! The hotel is right in the middle of downtown, so we could walk outside and walk to everything. The hotel staff was also extremely helpful. Before the trip they emailed with us for recommendations on covid testing, transportation to and from the airport, etc., and then when there they gave us other great recommendations! They all spoke perfect english The curtains blocked out light so the kids could go to sleep before it got dark as well as it gets dark so late there! I would definitely recommend this for families and stay there again!…
This review is long overdue but absolutely necessary as we had a fabulous stay at the Kvosin Hotel in September. Our trip to Iceland was on business but of course it was the perfect excuse to visit such a stunning country. My husbands company booked us into the Kvosin Hotel and boy did we luck out. We were welcomed with open arms and a gorgeous very clean, well appointed room with wonderful amenities. The team was lovely and made every interaction quite seamless. We had to leave early as there was a big storm back in NYC where we are from and left on the first flight to check on our home and unfortunately left behind a stack of our clothes. When we landed in NY we had already heard from Andrew and Gina who arranged to have our items sent out the very next morning by the Iceland Post. We received all of our perfectly folded and laundered clothing with a note from the team only a few days later. What incredible service. Kvosin has made loyal guests for life out of us!…
Was a lovely room right in the center of Reykjavik (could see the Parliament building from the balcony). All the details were included - bathrobes, slippers, the pullout couch already set up, etc. Would definitely stay here again - only for longer!
I can only echo the previous reviews: excellent location, lovely room, kind staff—especially our host, Andrew, who held our bags for us before and after our check in and out and organized our airport taxi. We stayed five nights and were so sorry to leave. The bar and kitchenette are particular attractions; we were able to buy a bottle of wine to enjoy in our room long after the stores were closed, and the Nespresso machine made wake-ups ever so much easier. For those who like to imbibe, do stop at Duty Free on your way out of the airport to save a bundle. I’d also suggest picking up some nonperishables at one of the Bónus supermarkets for a convenient breakfast (although the hotel offers both hot and cold options for an extra fee). Warmly recommended!
Cute boutique hotel in an older building but nicely renovated. Friendly front desk staff. Good central location to walk to lots of restaurants and stores. Spacious and clean (we are usually very picky with cleanliness). Small kitchenette with pot, pan, and all basic utensils for two. Would have been better if there was a mini fridge, I left my yogurt out on the balcony overnight to stay cold. Shower and toilet were separate, very comfortable and clean. Paid parking in front of the hotel, but limited spots. Otherwise street parking nearby. Took one star off for the possible noise level as our room was on the second level facing the front. You can hear cars, the church bell (directly across the street), and people. And the curtains were thick but were placed just too far from the window so it lets a lot of light in for those who are light sensitive. Overall, I did enjoy my stay and still think it’s a great value for what I got.…
My girlfriends and I just came back from Iceland. We stayed at this hotel. It was centrally located within walking distance of everything. The hotel was clean and spacious. I stayed in the room the George and thought it was nice. Andrew and Gina were very accommodating. They answered all our questions and made our stay very comfortable. The bar located in the hotel was a convenient place to have a drink before heading out into the city. One of the best espresso martinis in all of Iceland! I would highly recommend this hotel and when I return I’m definitely staying here again.
My husband and I ended our 10-day Iceland adventure at the Kvosin. It is a charming hotel with unique character and excellent service. We were unhappy with the initial room on our arrival, but spoke with the staff and they kindly moved us without question. Very friendly hotel and bar staff, and the rooms are adorable. The larger room was a perfect way to end our trip. The hotel is very centrally located, but removed from the bustle. It is an historic building, so others commenting here about noise should know it comes with the territory. However, we found the noise minimal, the interiors adorable and accommodations modern. It is an excellent choice for all around value.
