Very disappointing experience. When we were given a room on the first floor looking right out onto the main street I asked if it would be noisy. I was assured it would not be. We were up all night with people screaming and singing outside. They would not give us another room. The front desk personnel were uninterested in helping.... More

We were so excited to stay in this hotel but were deeply disappointed. The fist night we were given a room on the ground floor which we thought was going to be really noisy because we could here the parties going on outside our hotel but the person at the desk assured us it would be fine. Of course it... More

First of all we have to take into account that this is a quite expensive hotel, ( over 700 euros/night a standard room and 1300 euros / night the room we were staying) so our expectations were accordingly high. Nevertheless when my travel agent propose me this hotel I immediately checked the trypadvisor reviews and I saw they were not... More

101 is cool and comfortable but misses on so many fronts. Some of the rooms have weird layouts making space unusable. The staff can be indifferent unless you approach them softly. I've stayed in six of the hotels in Reykjavik and I think 101 is the best but it's a long way from being a great hotel.

This Hotel advertise themselves as being 5 Star Luxury Hotel , not only they are not even close to 4 stars, but they don't pay commission to bookings made through travel agencies, their rates are excessively high for the quality you will receive. You will be really disappointed, BEWARE of having breakfast as they will charge you for full buffet,... More

We really liked the hotel experience. Rooms are nice. There are well appointed rooms. Elegantly designed hotel. Food is nice. The best location in town. The spa in the basement is great. Negative is the service; it was surly, limited and not attentive. The staff clearly did not want to help. Even with the lacking service, it was a great... More

Nice small hotel in a central location, close to most of the nice places in Reykjavik. Staff are friendly and it has a nice restaurant. Rooms are clean and quirky. It has a bath tub in the room, which is pretty cool. Overall, a very nice stay.

Totally get that Reykjavik hotels are $$$ but the room rate didn't even include breakfast, all in room amenities were charged for - like using a plug adapter (USD20!!) and no tea or coffee making facilities...again charged for downstairs. Pretty basic for $450 a night. The food in the restaurant was excellent however - langoustine soup and trout for mains... More

Lovely room, capacious King-sized bed, beautiful interior, spectacular location. Not sure how I missed the warnings about the music venue, as that was brutal--and it was only Thursday, we still have the weekend to come! They "provide" headphones, which is the second annoyance: we are paying $2,000 for three nights, and EVERYTHING costs more (save for wifi and a bottle... More

The 101 is definitely one of the nicest hotels in town, and has a cool vibe to it. The front desk staff isn't the most outgoing group of people in the world, but the rest of the staff was nice and the hotel itself was a good choice. The rooms are pretty funky in shape and decor- at least the... More
