The staff are helpful and enthusiastic and our suite was large. Location good, but rooms and landings need updating. Stained carpets and chairs not great, it wouldn't take much investment to improve it. Apart from that it felt clean. Reception gets crowded at peak times and checkin can be slow. There's a good choice at breakfast, but again, gets v... More

Stayed in this hotel for 2 night, and wasn't disappointet at all. The room wad actually quite big, for a cheap 2-person sleepover, the breakfastbuffet was very good and we also enjoyed the happy hour in the bar :-) Very friendly staff, nice and clean rooms and all in all recommendable.

Stayed in Iceland for 4 nights in October. Hotel is good, tidy and clean. It is well placed, only five minutes walk from the centre of town, even for my wife who requires a stick to walk. My teenage son had a separate room and was very happy with it. The staff are very courteous and helpful. I will use... More

Lots of pluses, location is excellent - five minutes walk from the City Centre, but right on the coast road and convenient for Old Harbour area. Breakfast fine, our room was fine and beds comfortable, very helpful reception staff. One negative - the shower in our room had curtains not glass surround, very difficult to turn in without getting shower... More

We stayed in the Baron for a long weekend in Reykjavik booked as part of a package with Icelandair. The location sold this hotel to me, as I thought, with its views of the seafront, if the Northern Lights were to appear, we might see them from our window more readily here. They didn't appear for us, nor on our... More

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Booked this holiday on the cheap because I had heard Iceland was quite expensive to visit so I thought a 3 star should be okay and it worked with my budget. I'm really happy I booked the Fosshotel Baron. Pros of the hotel - really close to the centre of Reykjavik - 10... More

The location is perfect. One block away from the Main Street with lots of restaurants, shops, bars, supermarket, etc. The best deal that I could find that accepted 3 children and with free wifi and breakfast included. We booked a two bedroom mini apartment in the hotel that had a small kitchenette, a sofa and two rooms for 2 people... More

I don't recognise the hotel from other descriptions I have read. The hotel is certainly an easy walk to everything in downtown Reykjavik and the breakfast, although a little too herring oriented for my taste, was excellent. Everything else, not so good. Tired carpets, worn sheets and the smallest shower I have ever experienced. Damp towels left on beds when... More
