The hotel was quite dated and required some maintenance. There was literally a hole in the wall in our room and holes in the bed sheets. The carpet on the floor was old and had stains - the room had a moldy smell. We have stayed at a few fosshotels around Iceland during our 2 weeks trip and they were... More

The location is great with the water and great view of mountains close by! The rooms are cool because there is some history to each one! Iceland hotels are expensive so this place was a pretty good deal compared to the rest of the city. And the breakfast is delicious!

We stayed at this hotel as a launch-pad for our ring-road trip, and I must say it was everything we had hoped for. The location was fantastic! it was a very short distance from the key places to see in Reykjavik. The rooms were clean, and well laid out. The staff treated were really friendly, and helped us with any... More

I have traveled to Iceland numerous times, but not very often needed a hotel in downtown Reykjavik. I was truly surprised how expensive the hotels were, and struggled a lot with this. Fosshotel Baron was very forthcoming and serviceminded, and offered a reasonable deal for our group. Further, we needed to leave just after 5 AM, and we were very... More

There are some definitive positives for this hotel. Amazing views of the harbor . Really nice breakfast. The big plus is location is location. It it close to the Hlemmur bus station. a couple blocks from Laugavegur street , the main drag in Reykjavik , as well as the walking path beside the harbor . One of main drawbacks is... More

Location of this hotel is really good and easy to find, it is near to the shopping street & Sun Voyager and got free parking too. The receptions are very nice and really helpful. just the minor issue, the wifi connection in our room seems really slow, but ok at the lobby.

Location was really good only 10 min walk to down town Reykjavik and 5 mins from the main shopping street and restaurants, the rooms were okay very basic but beds were comfortable, the bathroom was small and the hot water smells a bit sulphurous. The breakfast buffet was really good for continental food not so good if you're an English... More

First off, the location is great: the hotel is sandwiched between the harbor with its foot/bike path, and Laugavegur St. And if you have a car the hotel has off-street parking and again, the location is an easy in/out to the Ring Rd. Secondly, loved the staff. Friendly and on top of things! Fielding the same tourist questions day after... More

Arrived from Oslo at well past midnight. The reception staff very helpful and polite. Although hotel centrally located, the rooms and bathrooms are small. Location is central and close to downtown and shopping.

We stayed here in the last days of our Iceland trip. It has a very convenient location, a great breakfast and very nice staff. The only drawback was the condition of the hotel itself. It's pretty dated and even a little run down, and if you are tall like my husband, the shower is a little difficult! The television choices... More
