Stayed at Fosshotel Baron twice. The rooms were small and simple, but very unpractical. There were only two power outlets, both 10 centimeters above the floor. Not very useful for a kettle. The showers were too hot to use. I know water comes from natural springs, but 60 degrees celsius is too much for anyone. By the time that issue... More

The Fosshotel Baron was our last stop on our most recent Iceland trip. It's in downtown Reykjavik within walking distance of many restaurants and shopping. There's free parking out front, and a Domino's Pizza just across the street. I want to especially note how helpful the gentleman at the front desk was in assisting us in printing out our boarding... No comment on the price because this is Iceland, but a very comfy stay and clean room and served us well for a cold freezing weather. Great comfort for after long outdoor visits. Friendly staff with passion about their homeland and speak good English. Tour booking is available too.

The hotel on a fairly quiet street and is close to the main attractions in Reykjavík- easy walking distance. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is ample. There is a luggage storage room, if needed.

The most expensive three star hotel I've ever stayed in but Iceland will do that to your wallet. Pluses: very friendly staff who helped me arrange a tour booking, clean, good selection for breakfast buffet, seafront location and close to downtown with a 1011 store just behind the hotel. Minuses: only one elevator which gets busy during breakfast and checkout... More

We spent a night at the Foss Hotel. It was nice, and a good location with free parking. It was the only hotel where the water smelled like sulfur, but, that was really the only drawback. The staff were friendly and the room was comfortable. We'd definitely stay there again.

We stayed on the first floor in a room with twin beds where the windows opened to the ground level back parking lot. Needless to say we kept the drapes drawn. There was a huge portrait on the wall of a chubby 17th century man--perhaps the Baron? The drapes blocked most light which is essential in the summer with almost... More

Good value hotel in a great location by the seafront. Happy hour is great value and the breakfast has a great selection. The staff are very helpful with trips and travel arrangements. Try to get a sea view room as ones to back look out on car park. Shops and restaurants are a short walk up in the main street.

If money is an issue the 120 rooms here are an excellent choice. It is an older dated hotel and breakfast can be VERY crowded. The hot water has a stronger "sulfur taste" than the other hotels we have stayed in Iceland. Elevator is small. Furniture well used. But it has everything one needs. The beds are firm and lovely.... The Baron Hotel is conveniently located near the water's edge in downtown Reykjavik. The hotel is clearly outdated & in need of renovation. The rooms are small & cozy and their bathrooms are tiny. The carpet needs changing throughout. In spite of this we had a quiet few nights rest.
