very good hotel with friendly staff and a great breakfast (make sure it is included). Tours picked us up at the hotel but sometimes dropped us off nearby because of traffic patterns. The hotel did not have air conditioning but they moved us to a room with a window and provided a fan which helped.

We stayed here the first night of our trip then drove the ring road and stayed here the final night of our trip. We found the hotel staff to be incredibly helpful with directions and other general questions. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable. The wifi was fast, we had plenty of television channels and they had a nice... More

Not very grand by american standards, $300 superior room was just ok. Check in staff were not friendly no help with our bags. Breakfast was good. Would not stay here again. The hotel is a 20 minute walk to the city center which was a pleasant walk along the water. Tip stay in the center of town.

Nice hotel outside of city center. Used primarily for conventions, so expect hordes in the dining room at breakfast time. Breakfast, though, is excellent. Check in ,especially with the help of Olaf at Reception, was excellent, even though our room wasn't ready until almost 3PM. There was no one to assist with getting our bags to our room, so we... We stayed in this hotel for three nights. It is situated out of Reykjavik city centre, but we did not find this inconvinence. Three times a day three is a free shuttle service to the centre. This is one way service. Service in reception is very good and all and all everythin runs smoothly. Breakfast is outstanding. We also tried... More

Originally built as a Holiday Inn, this property is not grand. No soap, shampoo or other amenities in the room. Soap dispensers on the wall of the bathroom. Open shower gets bathroom floor soaked. TV was difficult to turn on and had a very poor signal. Needed to request extra pillows. Good wifi and free. Breakfast buffet was fine. Location... More

My Husband and I came to this hotel for our second year anniversary, we found the rate was within our budget and hotel is well positioned in the city. As soon as we arrived on the coach from the airport the friendly staff checked us in and made sure we had everything we need. I am in a wheelchair and... More

A nice hotel, but far away from the center. There is a nice 20 min walk, but next time I'd rather stay closer to the city center. The hotel is good, rooms are great and breakfast is ok. Was a but crowded with Tours and delegations. Service esa very good.

The Grand Hotel in Reykjavik is a modern hotel with rooms that are quite large by European standards. The beds are comfortable and there are plenty of pillows. There is no ac so request a room on the outside so that you can open a window of it gets too warm. The interior rooms can be too warm with no... More
