We chose this hotel as it is within walking distance of the downtown area, which is around 30 minutes, although there is a free one way shuttle bus 5 times a day, if you don’t like walking. We stayed on the 12th floor which was quiet apart from a party on the Saturday night in the lobby, which is normal...

This is a great hotel located just a few minute walk to the waterfront which has a walking path to downtown. It was conveniently located in the city. It is usually the first place the tour buses drop off and last place they pick up. The hotel staff at the front desk were amazing. Some of the friendliest and helpful...

We thought this was a lovely hotel. Fantastic stylish foyer which was really relaxing. Staff on reception and in the dining room at breakfast were friendly and attentive. Frances, the concierge will book trips for you for no extra charge and was always helpful. The breakfast was brilliant with a wide selection of fresh fruits, juices, cereals and pastries as well as...

We stayed here for three nights on a Thomson Iceland holiday. The hotel is very large and the dining room at breakfast was very busy...particularly with people leaving early on trips. The breakfast on offer was more than adequate. We were on half board and the evening meal was fine...but very expensive being Iceland. The staff were very friendly and...

This hotel is a little bit of a walk in to the city centre, about 20 minutes to the main shopping area. But is is also 15 minutes walk to the massive shopping mall which is certainly worth a visit. The staff are friendly and very helpful and the accommodation is comfortable and clean. The breakfast is super!

Overall satisfied stay here and I would recommend. I will list the pros and cons and hope management reads :). Staff: Service was great. They were attentive, welcoming, whenever we called it was only a matter of minutes before we got what we needed. Anytime we needed help figuring something out they were accessible and had good suggestions on places...

Stayed in this hotel as part of our tour package. Room is spacious and clean but didn't come with amenities and it's quite far from the city center. But the hotel offers shuttle services to the city center. A taxi fare from this hotel to the center would costs around $25-$35. Staffs are helpful and courteous. Breakfast Buffet is really...

Dear jamsg111 Thank you for writing a review about your stay at Grand Hotel Reykjavík. I am pleased to hear you got to experience the helpfulness of our staffmembers. I come to Iceland 5 times per year and I quite like this hotel. The only downside is that it is not in the middle of the city. Like all hotels in Iceland it is way to expensive. Breakfast is good and it offers a decent gym.
