Fosshotel Rauðará is an excellent base for a Reykjavik centre stay while remaining a convenient location for access to Reykjavik City airport. While just a short walk away from the famous shopping street of Laugavegur and the Reykjavík Art Museum, Fosshotel Rauðará still enjoys the quiet of a peaceful city neighbourhood.

We stayed end of November 2023. Clean and tidy but small reception/bar area. We had 2 single beds which were amazingly comfortable and the pillows were very good too! Room was relatively compact, had a safe , small bathroom, but clean. We were here 3 nights but had no change of bedding , or towels and we were out all day everyday, not that we were bothered as we only used the room to sleep in, however showering and drying in damp towels wasn’t ideal. Best thing is location, it’s ideal for shops , bars, restaurants and trip pick ups. Not many plugs so bring a 4 way extension if you can. Room had tea making facilities, hair dryer , shower gel, TV but we never used them as brought our own stuff. There’s a lovely Chinese restaurant next door which I highly recommend, we went on our last night here and it was amazing food. I would stay here again as it’s perfect for every need if all you need is a bed for the night.

The hotel is conveniently located and is only a short walk to the main street where the bars and restaurants begin. The hotel was a little dated in areas but clean, warm, and tidy. The room was spacious and had a sofa, a free to use safe and a fridge, and it looked like it had been updated relatively recently. The bed was very comfy and a good size. In terms of areas that could be better the windows whilst not drafty seemed to have poor soundproofing so the road which isn't busy at all did disturb me through night when traffic occasionally went down it, particularly as winter tyre's being a necessity are noisier than standard ones, I am a light sleeer though. The bathroom was a little dated but functional. We were B&B, and the breakfast was fine with enough choice. All in all, the hotel is a good base. I'd use it again, no problem.

Great Hotel situated close to seafront, main town central area and bus/tour stops. Staff really helpful great for advice on area and getting around Rooms are nice, clean and enough room for couples. Beds comfy and bathrooms ok. Nice to have tea and coffee making and supplies. Hotel only serves breakfast but it’s amazing too much choice to describe here!. Hot and cold selection great for every taste. Would recommend to anyone planning to visit Reykjavik it’s amazing value with great staff.

First trip to Iceland. Reception: Quick and easy check in, small bar in the lobby and snacks to purchase. You can also book trips via the reception, staff very helpful. There is also an area for luggage storage and lift to all floors. Room: Room decor is dated but our room was very clean and tidy, plenty of room for cases. Bed was super comfortable and had a great nights sleep. bathroom clean and tidy, the hot water is provided by the geothermal springs to will smell of sulpher but thats not an issue. tea and coffee making facilities in the room, extras coffee, milk etc can be requested from reception. Breakfast: The breakfast room is just off the lobby and provides cooked and continental breakfasts, teas, coffee and juices. very plentyful and tasty. Location: The lcoation for us was perfect, 200 meters from bus stop 13 for trips pick up or short walk to bus stop 12 which is the main pick up for trips. easy walking to the shops and restaurants nearby.

Stayed here for 3 nights in November 2023 and would happily recommend this property. The staff are incredibly helpful and cannot do enough for you. The rooms are small, but not tiny, and certainly enough space for a couple. There are tea/coffee facilities in the room as well as a TV and a safe. The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms warm. The entire hotel is also spotlessly clean. Finally, the breakfast is excellent, with a huge variety of products all of great quality.

great hotel close to the centre and all bus stops, easy check in and my room was ready as soon as i arrived, large room with loads space, bit of letdown with the plug sockets which were few and in places behind tables and chairs but i adapted for charging my stuff or the kettle. staff were really friendly and good at their jobs, breakfast was plenty but slightly disappointed how cold some of the 'hot' breakfast was but again adapted, would definetely stay here again though.

Hotel perfectly situated for exploring Reykjavik. Close enough to bars and restaurants, but quiet on an evening. Warm welcome. Fantastic staff, special thanks to Jorge and Katerina. Bedrooms are clean and functional. Bathroom is adequate, nothing fancy, but spotlessly clean. However, the shower in the room is like having your own personal hot spring spa. Amazing. We chose to have breakfast included in our package. Good decision. Spoilt for choice. Full English or continental 🤔. It was hard to choose as everything was fresh and delicious. For us as a couple it was perfect and we will definitely use this hotel again on our return to Iceland

Lovely hotel, very clean. We were in a triple room which was perfect. 3 single beds with plenty of room and coffee/tea making facilities. A fridge with a cupboard to store food to make sandwiches etc. Bathroom had a bath with shower over. Breakfast was good, plenty to eat and a good choice. Hotel was located close to bus stops 13 and 11 and close to the shops. Staff were helpful and friendly.
