Hotel Klettur is a modern hotel, only a stone's throw from downtown. The hotel's name is derived from the rock that breaks through the wall on the first floor. When choosing the colour theme and the interior decoration for the hotel we had in mind the unique colour scheme of the Icelandic nature. Hótel Klettur has 166 rooms, of which there are 143 Standard rooms and 20 Superior rooms. The rooms are all modern, bright, spacious and well equipped. In every room, you will find a refrigerator, telephone, satellite TV, internet connection, ironing board, clothing iron, hairdryer, coffee and tea maker and a safe. The hotel is within 2 km walking distance from all the major sights and only about two minutes walk from the Hlemmur Food hall and Laugavegur shopping street.

We stayed for one night at Hotel Klettur and had a great stay. Our room was very big and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. As we had to return our camper van and were joining a whale watching tour afterward, we dropped our luggage at Hotel Klettur early in the morning. That wasn't a problem at all, there's a big luggage room in the hotel. In the area, there are quite some cafés, restaurants and the streets with most shops/restaurants etc are just a 10-minute walk away. The wifi worked fine in the hotel!

Good location, just a very short walk to the city centre, very clean. great breakfast, incredibly smooth check in. It's great for excursions because the buses can stop directly at the door steps, which is not always the case for the accommodation at the city centre.

The room was on the street so it was a bit noisy. I requested a quiet room but didn’t get it. The location was perfect being within walking distance of most things. Tui dropped us off and picked us up first for the tours which was handy as we were tiered and wanted to get to bed. The room was clean but very basic and a bit cold so we told reception and they gave us a heater which was must better. Iceland was very expensive but we took some food with us and got alcohol on the plane so the fridge came in very handy. I would recommend this hotel but don’t expect luxury.

Dear shelleyo698, Thank you for your review and for your stay. We agree with you :) Our hotel enjoys a prime location. It is only a stone’s throw from downtown and the best of Iceland’s shops, entertainment bars and world-class dining. With regards to your last room, we are terribly sorry for the mistake. If there is anything we can do to make your next stay even better please do us know. We hope to have the chance to welcome you back to our hotel. Best regards, Hotel Klettur team

I stayed at this hotel as part of a tour and then afterwards on my own. I liked that it is one of the hotels with a real stop for the airport shuttle bus and tour buses. I didn’t want to have to go to a shared bus stop. My room was clean but a bit rundown with marks on the walls and no luggage rack. The bed was very comfortable, the pillows were only OK. The breakfast had a lot of choices. I loved the oatmeal as a warm way to start the day. The hotel has many common areas - lobby. Breakfast room. Bar. Game room. So many options if it is cold.

We stayed at the Klettur for our 3 night stay in Iceland. The hotel is lovely! Specially for excursions and a lot of other hotels in Iceland you have to walk to a bus stop whereas at Klettur all excursions pick you up from outside! Only about a 10/15 minute walk into Reykjavík too which was perfect! Rooms were clean and a decent size, perfect for what you need. Only fault was the sink in the bathroom. The plug wouldn’t hold the water in the basin so we used an upside down cup!🤣 Would stay here again!
